To help protect your account, we limit the amount of items purchased by a single account at any one time.
This buying limit is temporary. You can come back soon and buy more items. "
Now there are NO unpaid items. all items i bought are paid for. i have bid on 5 Items..god alone knows if i will win them or lose the bids to either Shill Bidding or fraud bidders.. in such a case i dont think its fair to place a limit on a buyer. its like ebay is underestimating a persons credit worthiness to pay for a product. my ICICI card gives me a limit of 100,000. my SBI card has a limit of 50,000, my ABN Amro debit card has a balance of rs. 4,50,000/- inspite of this its frustrating when i get this message everytime i bid. i guess ebay should place this limit wen a person has not paid for the items. and not wen a person has just bid on some items.
learned members of the community....what do u say.. am an old member....here...even though this id is just 20 days old..my first id had 95+ ratings!

The tating eligibility policy IS true and I can cite atleast one example.
When a seller is listing an item and has multiple copies of it, he can not give the option of "sell multiple items" if his feedback is <5. Thats true!!!
So if he wants to sell more than 1 copy of that, he is required to make a completely new listing!
What the point of this exercise is, I really dont know. But trust ebay to always come up with the most complex of rules, regulations and POLICIES to confuse even the regular members, let alone the newcomers

ebay doen't do any rationing.
ebay only give tools to Sellers to block Buyers at their discreation.
The Seller may have used on of the following tools which may have prevented you from bidding.
Block buyers who are currently winning or have bought _________(here seller can fill a number from 1 to 100) of my items in the last 10 days.
Only apply this block to buyers who have a feedback score of _______(here seller can fill a number 0 to 5) or lower.
I hope this information is of help to you.

Blocking buyers affect in Sales. All doesn't have a mobile for SMS Verification. But you can enable this feature if more than 50% of sales are unpaid. ---------------

if a bidder is winning 5 items, then his account activity is limited, iressepctive of his exposure ie. sum involved.
what i suggested before and suggest now is if a buyer has won 5 items in 15 days and these items remain UNPAID for in the 15 days period, then a limit should be placed. not here...now when there is a buying limit, what a buyer wud do is make duplicate acounts!!! the solution is worse than the cure!

I have often placed simultaneous bids on more than 5 items and never faced any restriction. May be eBay has recently imposed this bidding restriction. If its for all irrespective of ratings and verification then I also fully agree that its absurd & illogical - after all I never support all the eBay rules / policies irrespective of their merits.
On this board there are several postings about one Shakawat Hossain cheating in lacs by continuously creating multiple fake IDs and eBay has done nothing to stop the culprit other than just unregistering his IDs, individually, after complains. Just a deregistration is useless for those who have already been defrauded.
Fully agree that for the frauds its not difficult to have more ratings easily. Hence some better policy is required in this regard.
Shall be obliged if you kindly post the link about this new bidding restriction rule.
Hope somebody from eBay would put some remarks on this thread at the earliest..
. Best Regards 😄

Buying limits is a very correct and essential feature. I do not know the limits but from going through this discussion it seems that the limit is 5 bids if a member is less than 1 month old.
If this it the limit, I beleive it is very correct. Currently buyers treat auction like game and bid on several products without any intention of buying them.
On my selling id, I have faced this problem many times. When I call up buyers of sucessfull auctions, the standard response was "I have bid on a lot of simmilar products and I am waiting to see how those auction goes"
So after paying a lot of listing enhancements fees and the auction reaching my expected price, everything goes down teh drain.
Hence this limits have to be in place.
As for you O.P., why do you need to place bids on 3 auctions of the same product? If you win all 3 would be buying all 3? This does no happen in advanced markets where sellers do as many as 10 auctions of the same product all ending on the same day. Buy buyers only bid on 1 acution as they know that if they win the auction, they have to pay for it.
Sir, if you need to buy more than 5 products, you can very well buy all of them on BIN (Buy it Now), the limits are placed only on auctions. The low value products (699 + 1000) which you have referred could easily have been bought on BIN at a nominal difference.
Yes, the rediff solution is best but eBay is not prepared for this. IT is not even prepared for a PaisaPay veriication of buyer, even as a option. It has only gone as far as SMS verification.
Till the UPI rate come down from the current rate 60% for auctions, such restrictions are absolutely neccessary.
