Dear All,

Hello,

Lets Learn from each other's expertise.
I am starting this thread where contributions from everybody is expected.
May it be the Champions of Baazee ERA OR the New Comers.
Helpful ebay Staff members too are requested to show their presence.

The purpose of this thread is to put forward your expertise / knowledge which you think would be helpful to other members.

It may be Tips .....which may help in Selling better.

It may be pointing out..... the best Courier Company for National Selling.

It may be the best email service available.

It may be something related to Computers, Windows, Anti-virus, Ad-ware, spy-ware.

It may be something which others shouldn't do .....unknowingly.

Anything which you think would be helpful to others.


Just don't think that a particular TIP is quite common ....there may be someone who might be benefitted out of that.


MY CONTRIBUTION

I am giving you a small TIP ......many of you must be aware of this. But I still feel that there may be few who are un-aware of this.....

For All those who are using Windows XP and find that the system takes too long to BOOT UP.
Also, when you shut down ....the system takes time.
This may be due to many Items place in the start up.
That is..... many icons placed at the right hand bottom........ near the clock.
Icons of skype, Blinking net connection, webshots, Anti-virus, Bit meter, fax, MSN messanger...etc etc..
This slows down the machine quite a lot.
There may be many, who have higher configuration with higher RAM, but still the TIP may be useful.

Just HIBERNATE the system while closing.
For this.... Click start
Click...Turn off Computer.
Press SHIFT.
The Standby button would change to Hibernate.
Keeping the shift pressed ...left click HIBERNATE.

This will save your current desktop state to your hard disk so that you can resume where you left off, than shuts down your computer.

Yes N A KATIB ,

That's true .... if more and more Sellers put forth their views & feelings then we can give better feedback to ebay Management.

Things would definitely improve for the Sellers who devote many hours to ebay, everyday.

What we want is a level playing field for all the members.

Neither the Buyer nor the Seller should be able to take anyone for a ride. .

Hi indconcepts,
The category team is responsible for downfall in jewelry and loose gemstones. Making serious mistakes in every step.
You cant edit items even properly.
Write to CS,they bore you down with a flood of replies. They cant help, because, the system has become faulty.
I am sorry. Forgive me please.You encourage sellers to take up shop.But I say,please visit Ebay USA and see what treatment should be given to the Ebay stores.
I encourage pple to follow the policies of ebay strictly.If you dont understand Ebay policy,then you better follow the policies of Ebay USA.
Then only you will be in the right track.

Hi Umang Midha,
I follow certain marketing techniques and I manage to sell 16% of my total listings.
My most favourite technique is to send shop items to fixed price listings in core area.
But nowadays I am not able to do that.Everytime I try,it says'items specifics have been updated.'
I am at a loss.Who has blocked them from being sent to core area!!!!!
I wrote to CS.They replied to all my mails.They had been very nice to me.But solution they could not give.
The only solution is to do a mock revision of all items individually, without really revising an alphabet.I mean,you click revise button and click revise description.Then all pages will appear one by one.Just go on clicking and submit revision.Then only it will work.
Now,just tell me,I am being handicapped by this boring process.What should be the next best solution for me?
I dont use turbo lister or any gaudy get up.I just highlight my item.That works much better.Buyers are not bored.It gives a faster browsing experience.
And my items sell better,you know.The same buyer comes back again and again.It is not that I give better items.I just give them a faster browsing experience, thats all.
I shall be oblged if you can help me.
Also there is a new problem.I sold and shipped 5 iems,but I am not able to leave FB for 2 items.It says,items not found,either FB has already been given or they dont exist.But selling manager shows two FBs are yet to be given.
My ebay selling also shows that.
If items cant be found,how a buyer can buy and pay for that by PaisaPay?They got real item#s.If you want,I shall give them.
Please help me.

Hello Amitava,

I use Turbo Lister and if this happens then I do need to see if something has changed in the Item specifics.

You may try sending One Listing at a time from your shop to core. See if you get some clue about the problem.

Regarding feedback which you aren't able to leave ....... just see from which country the Buyer is. Then log in to that ebay site and try leaving the Feedback for him. This is just a hit & try method which may work for you.

Also, just see how old the listing / transaction was.
You have 90 days after making a sale or purchase to leave feedback for the other member.

In case of no solution, keep troubling the Customer Support after all it's an important issue for you and your buyer. .

hi amitava!
i had faced similar problems and was fed up doing each single listing and revising them. i too was bored.i was told to unistall and then reinsatll turbo lister after a back up. and the rest is posted down, the reply letter from the ebay team.try it out. it worked for me.

To help resolve this issue with Turbo Lister, please reset your
categories and get the latest category data by doing the following:

1. Open Turbo Lister
2. On the main Item Inventory page, type CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + R (all at
the same time)
3. This should pop up a little dialog. Click "OK".
4. Click on 'Tools -> Check for Program Updates'
5. This will download the latest category data.
6. Once this update is complete please check that the categories are
correctly selected on your items.

hi ! i too had an ebay shop but i think after creating a shop my expenses increased and hardly any increase in sales. i discontinued and now i am doing better.creating a shop from ebay .in does not proove too fruitful. but initially though by mistake i created a shop from the . com site. the 2 months showed great business but i was charged something like 4000 inr and i had to discontinue that too.so it is all a trial and error game.

Hi Umang Midha,and N A Katib,
The FB problem solved.I did from US.It worked.Those guys are so good there.Just like our old dot in days before the category team messed it up all.
I think,I shall have to end most of the items.This problem has robbed my peace of mind.
I shall do a start love all.
I am in no need to hurry up sales.But as N A Katib says,eBay india gives me bread. Butter I have to earn outside my computer in the real world.
I need a showcase.
Ebay is the best showcase.And this community,without any bias,those good pinks and my repeat buyers,you nice sellers,I like all of it.
So,whatever it is,I shall stick to eBay including its category team and CS. I LOVE EBAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO eBay.in.

Hi everybody,

I have recently started selling on ebay.in
The problem that i have is withdrawing funds from my paypal account. Payapl sends us cheques but the seem unsafe as the are sent via normal post.
I was wondering how all of you withdraw your funds. Is there a way we can have online transfers?

The eBay merchant kit will install an updating version of your eBay listings on any website. When people go to your eBay Store and purchase through these links, you also get the Store Referral Credit (http://pages.ebay.com/help/specialtysites/referral-credit-faq.htm l) on your Final Value Fees. Get the simple code at http://pages.ebay.com/api/merchantkit.html

Alternatively if you want a store of your own you can try out building your own store using an open source software like zencart, CRELoaded, OScommerce etc. OR get these software as a service http://easystorehosting.com
