we saw your new rule of multiple listing..which according to you not exceed more than 5..that is good but thing is as we sale shoes.. your rule say you cannot show the sizes in a single listing..because of that we crate listing accoring to sizes... as you sugested..but this rule is voliation of multiple listing rule...so could you tell us what is solution for that or you did not consider that point...as you can see in our shop or listing not a single product is repeated

This is a legitimate problem and I hope would be dealt with at the earliest by eBay.in

Shoes and dresses are often of the same Price for a wide range of sizes. Hence, in my opinion, sellers should be permitted to mention the sizes available in the listing. After all they will sell a single item thru an individual listing. Its boring to find separate listings of shoes from 2-9... for each variety. That should be considered as multiple listing and illegal other than a single listing mentioning about the availability of various sizes. This will help the buyer to have a look at the varieties available, faster.

You have a very good query, to address your concern, you can list one lisitng for every size and mention the size in the title of the listing this will not constitute a multiple listing violation

I read the reply given by eBay, but there is still a problem. Today, a lot of my mobile accessories listings were deleted as they were counted as multiple listings. But the fact is that a single headset/data cable is compatible with over 100 models of Nokia. How do I list the item if the same headset is valid for over 5 different models, as it will be counted as multiple listings? Please guide me how do I list the same.

If the multiple listing policy is valid for such items too, then all sellers will just have to mention the title as something like "Handsfree Stereo headset compatible with many Nokia models". But Buyers normally search for "nokia 1100 headset", or "1100 handsfree", and will not go looking in the item description for the model number. Then this way he will not be able to see any of my products. I request eBay to please find a way out otherwise sale will drop drastically.

FAQS on Multiple Listing Policy:

How many identical items I can list?

As per the Multiple Listing Policy you cannot create more than 5 listings for Identical Items.

Sellers may not have more than 5 listings for identical items across all formats (including Store Format)



Can I list more than 5 items across different categories?
A Seller cannot list more than 5 identical items across multiple categories. If you choose to list in more than one category, you must still adhere to the multiple listings limit of 5.





When did the Multilisting policy change from 10 items to 5 items?

The policy was changed from 10 to 5 multiple listings w.e.f 5th March, 2006. This change also added Store Format listings to the multilisting policy.





What happens if I violate the Multiple Listing Policy?

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation
Limits on account privileges
Account suspension
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Loss of PowerSeller status


Does the Multiple Listing Policy apply to store listings?
Yes, the Multiple Listing policy applies to store listings and any store listings will apply towards your limit of 5 identical listings.



If I am listing a Blue Shirt that comes in 3 different sizes (small, medium, large) can I list 4 shirts in each size for a total of 12 Blue Shirts?

Yes, provided that each listing stipulates that it is for a different size shift. In this case you would be listing 4 small blue shirts, 4 medium blue shirts and 4 large blue shirts, which would not violate the Multiple Listing Policy.

Please note that listing each shirt with the same picture could give buyers the impression that you are listing the same item more than 5 times. In cases such as this, it is advisable to use a different looking picutre for each size shift as well as clearly mention the size in the title for the item.

I created 6 listings for a mobile phone face plate that is compatible with different mobile phones and for each listing indicate that it is a compatible for a different model phone. Will these listings violate the Multiple Listing Policy?


Yes, this would be a violation as you are listing the same identical item 6 times. Although you are indicating in each listing that the face plate is compatible with a different mobile phone, the face plate is still the same in each listing. By listing 6 of the same items you would be violating the Multiple Listing Policy. In this instance, you should only list 5 items but indicate that the face plate is compatible with multiple mobile phones in the Item Description.

Both are different and doesn't suit as its completly a differnt models.
