Ebay never verifies its sellers. Anyone with smuggled, stolen items, can offer for sale.
There are sellers with multiple ebay ids with fake addresses and contact mobile nos. Even if some of them have good feedback but why they are concealing their actual contact address ?
If ebay make it necessary to have atleast one landline number in the sellers name, then many fraud sellers can be avoided as having a landline phone estiblishes some genuinity of address.
Before any seller starts selling, ebay should personally call him/ her and should verify all the related details.

Hi Praveen !

I totally agree with you.
eBay too is a complete FRAUD company like its sellers.
I had bought a mobile phone worth Rs.35999, but the seller didn't ship the item.
eBay promised me Rs.9950 as the claim amount.
I too had filed a dispute against the seller and then eBay replied me that i will receive the payment within 30 days.
But it has been more than 30 days and i have not received any DD nor any reply from them in the past 2 weeks.
eBay is really a complete fraud company like its sellers.

I had been to the eBay office in Mumbai.
They have a good staff of more than 50 people.
But these people, none of them replied me.
Instead, they asked me to send an email, and assured me to expect a reply from the customer support within 24 - 48 hrs.
But i've been waiting for their reply since the past 2 weeks. Not a single reply from them.
I do not understand what to do now.....

Hi Praveen !

Sorry to know your situation. eBay clearly says they only guarantee your payment up to Rs.50000 if paid through PaisaPay. You should have sent the DD to PaisaPay to clear the payment to the seller, it will cost Rs.0 extra for you. If this is this much big amount PaisaPay will check seller reputation and they may hold their payment until the seller is properly verified.

You directly sent DD to a fraud seller and it is not possible eBay will take full responsibility for your payment. Even if you are paying 100-200 water bill amount, do you send with someone you don't know ?. When you are paying 35000, you should be bit careful or contacted eBay support before hand making payment. At least eBay is guaranteeing your Rs.10000, that's really great. As i said you prepare a documentation for your purchase from eBay and proof of payment and go to Police Station. They have separate branches for Financial related crime, they can nab that fraud guy and what ever money left in his pocket they recover and give you.

Another thing is eBay is a system. They have every provision to contact via proper channel department wise and support team is working round the clock. You cannot just walk in and talk to any one. That's how most professional companies work. For example if you bought a software from Infosys you cannot walk-in to the office and ask them for solution. You have to contact the customer support people to help you. The same case here.

I have my Citibank account from more than 10 years. I visited the bank only once withdraw a big amount, because i needed at least 2 hours to withdraw that much amount in ATM, that will be most inconvenient for the queue behind me, rest of my job i do it though online banking or by calling customer support. It is a Banking system, think 1 million customer visiting the branch each day for inquiry, it will be a disaster for them.

Some of the things are mutually understandable between customer and the company, we need to wait to get our turn.

At least you got your 10,000 that much eBay is doing great. 6 Years back i bought an item for Rs.800 from Rediff.com. Still i haven't received that item or reply form Rediff.com about my refund.

eBay is much much better than any other online portal, supporting customers.

Kind regards,
CoolBrasCo.

Dear runalaila_in1,

Thanks for this important question.

My understanding is PaisaPay is accepting DD as well from seller. Because when i ask PaisaPay to refund some money to a customer, for example shipping discount etc. If i don't have sufficient funds in PaisaPay (Especially on Wednesday mornings), they send an email saying, funds not sufficient to refund, please send DD as well like that.

I thought ,they also accept DD from buyer as one of the mode of payment. But when again checked from following, PaisaPay help documents, it says mode of payments Master/Visa and on line Bank transfer, DD is not mentioned. Please see the below link...

http://pages.ebay.in/help/tp/esppp-process.html

I hope some one from PaisaPay team will clarify this doubt. PaisaPay is accepting on line debit card, and giving protection to buyer, why not Demand Draft as well ?. It is same as on line transfer, but the number days in receiving DD differs. If the DD is from reputed banks it will be cleared in 1-2 days max.

I hope some one from PaisaPay team will clarify this doubt. Even if this facility not available, eBay should introduce this soon. So that buyers won't be cheated by fraud sellers.

Kind regards,
CoolBrasCo.
