Product and Fees Changes on eBay.in..Sellers - Happy or Unhappy?

Well I was
going through this announcement where I have seen various changes have done. But
when I saw Ebay wants Gallery and Listing Designer as chargeable I was really
unhappy. My fellow sellers what are your views about this ? R u Happy or Unhappy
? Do you think Gallery and Listing Designer need to be feesable to us ? My
views about Gallery And Listing Designer :

Reason : If
a seller is selling 2000 products will he choose gallery and listing designer on
1st April ? Answer is NO. Sales will go down. Fake buyers are in bulk in India.
Buyers are not in bulk and quantity of good buyers is very low.

I need my fellow
sellers views too. Plz reply to this thread with your views specifying the
reason . This change will be effective from 1st April,2006. Ebay - R u making

I am sorry if my reply gave the impression that I wanted the discussion to end. With all your earlier posts, eBay now knows your views on the new proposal, and will consider your feedback while re-looking at the decision.

I think it will be great if we can now take the discussion one step forward to handle the issue of non-selling items, which seems to be a major reason why our sellers are opposing gallery fee.

For example, user srjsms mentioned the difficulty in selling mobile phones. I can understand that margins can be tight in such products; however one possible work-around could be product bundling. I have seen some successful sellers doing product bundling as a way to manage margin. For example, include a high-margin component (a USB drive, say) with your laptop listings. Similarly, a mobile seller might think about including memory card/mobile holder/mobile pouch etc with a mobile phone.

The above is just one of the examples I could think of. I am sure you will have many such ideas and suggestions that will help the sellers in improving their listing quality, buyer experience and thus overall site experience.

For sellers who think their products are slow moving, might want to ask help from other community members in analysing if their products are indeed appropriate for online market, or if they can improvise their listings to improve sales.

Sellers of varying experience are here on boards, and I am sure all of us can benefit from each other’s experience.

Hi,

eBay India should help the seller to sell better, that is what it always has to remember. If it starts charging for all basic things like GALLERY & LIST DESIGNER, actually it wont do any good for either eBay India or the seller. They are lot of products which you can sell without the image on the listing. By introducing charges for GALLERY & LISTING eBay would rather loose more revenue than gain.

In my case, right now, i sell somewhere around 4000 books, if i am charge 0.25 paise per listing, i ending paying Rs.1000/- per for 4000 listing of book every month.

Now, how much mileage do i get out of that Rs.1000/-, maximum i would be able to sell 25-50 books in a month. Now that is definitely not the worth it.

I would rather remove GALLERY image for all my list, yes, i will get a hitting with my sales, but atleast i would be able to atleast sale some money per sale.

As a facilitator, eBay India is suppose to help the seller increase their sales not reduce it. I hope they get the message correctly.

Reason:

The members supporting this fee change please note that this move may not bring down the multiple and useless listings on the site. (remember i said 'may not')



The sellers who are listing multiple items will still continue to list multiple items without gallery image.

Now the plus point can be that we sellers who normally donot list multiple items unnecesarily can list with gallery listing and get a edge over those who are listing with the gallery listing. But will that really help us get good sale. The number of non paying buyers are over 50% even after having SMS verification in place.

Some buyers not meeting my buyer block criteria are able to bid for my products. With this kind of a unreliable platform i wont bank on ebay for sure.


Further i wont be listing with gallery listings active from April 1st. But would use them for special products and auctions.

Just a small correction

The buyers who search for a product do not necessarily look at the image but they concentrate on the offer and the price.

Here gallery images do not add great value.

Now its time to say wheather "Gallery Fees", "Designer Fees" etc. will make us Happy or Unhappy.

There is common reply - Unhappy?:|.

But somehow we have to agree with these implements. No extra fees are welcome. At the same time we should remember that eBay is not a Charitable Trust. eBay and We both are doing business here. eBay providing us the platform. So we have to change our business strategy as per changed overhead expenses.

eBay has rights to charge for each and every bytes we placed on net thru eBay, each and every bytes we received thru eBay.

eBay has proposed to charge Gallery fees, if they charge for product listing, if they charge fees on shipping charge, if they charge for image display, if they charge for product price display - we can't blame them.

Now question is whether host sellers has that capability to pay fees or not, whether they have that much turnover or not? eBay.com seller has the capability to pay insertion fees, thats why it is there. China eBay seller is not supposed to pay selling fees.

Definitely this changes has one plus point - that is it will increase the status level of eBay.in:^O. When it is free means - Below Status?:|. I didn't find any other +ve impact on it.

At the same time I am requesting Listing Fees(min Rs. 5/- per list) and Fees on Shipping Charge(20% on shipping charge). I am 100% sure still there will be min. 50,000 live listing. My total listing may decrease but I will be there may be it is with only one product.

Actually we are shouting (afraid) for this small amount fees only because of very minimal turnover. No one will mind to pay when he/she will get butter.

So requesting eBay marketting team please look into the market, and incorporate some idea, how it can be boosted. at least help us to minimize non fulfillment of sale. May be our (low turnover sellers) strategy is wrong, may be our technique is wrong, may be buying process is wrong, may be some other reasons are there. Pls find a solution.

Give Us butter not bitter then take it from Us. We all love eBay and don't want to leave eBay. This sentence is from my heart not a joke

It seems 86 posts are not good enough for re-looking. Well .....what ever is the decision, Community must be informed, well in advance, so that Sellers can plan accordingly. .
