Product and Fees Changes on eBay.in..Sellers - Happy or Unhappy?

Well I was
going through this announcement where I have seen various changes have done. But
when I saw Ebay wants Gallery and Listing Designer as chargeable I was really
unhappy. My fellow sellers what are your views about this ? R u Happy or Unhappy
? Do you think Gallery and Listing Designer need to be feesable to us ? My
views about Gallery And Listing Designer :

Reason : If
a seller is selling 2000 products will he choose gallery and listing designer on
1st April ? Answer is NO. Sales will go down. Fake buyers are in bulk in India.
Buyers are not in bulk and quantity of good buyers is very low.

I need my fellow
sellers views too. Plz reply to this thread with your views specifying the
reason . This change will be effective from 1st April,2006. Ebay - R u making
our April fool or what:-(:_|X-( ??

I am seeing something contradictory in your post.

I have seen that most of your business is from listing on the US site (ebay.com). You are happily paying listing fees, gallery fees and BUY IT NOW fees on the eBay.com site at dollar rates but you are against paying the same on the Indian site.

Is it the case of "ghar ki mugi dal barabar"?

Another interesting point. Where there are listing fees (US site), you have listed on 25-30 products (which are giving you about 90% of you business) but since there are no listing fees / gallery fees on the Indian site, you have listed 1000 products on your two ids.

I would also like to know you view on keeping listing gem and jewelly private?

I would also like to know your view on garnering feedback by selling wallpapers, logos, etc. for 1 cent.

Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of any additional fees leveied by eBay but I am totally confused by your post.

First of all dear Friend i would like to clear that i do not list anything on .com whenever i tried to list something i never ever got any positive response for my listing and lost all my money in Dollars.

I list items on ebay india only choosing international listing.

And still cannot afford the Rs. 15 and Rs. 30 as international fee everytime.

And what business strategies i use to get business is none of your business.

The money is not going from your pocket and so you should not talk anything in this matter.

The discussion is all about gallery fee this is the issue that needs feedback from ebay sellers and not from ebay buyers without feedback.

One more thing i would like to clear that i have hardly sold 2 items ranging from Rs. 150 to 300 to indian buyers in full one month so whatever number of listings i do fails to attract any indian buyer so why do we pay for indian listings when we know we will never ever get any sales from them.

How come you say that charging fee on ebay india for listing items with gallery image is right decision, when everybody knows that Indian sellers hardly get sales from Indian buyers.

Why should we pay when we know we are not gonna get back the charges by any means from Indian buyers ?
Do you have any answers for the same ?

Can you get me buyers for my listings when i'll list my items using the gallery image.

Still i can gurantee the sales will remain down as they are today.

I rather find your post contradictory.

First of all when you point finger to someone, three fingers point towards you.

Why have you made your ID PRIVATE.

This is because there is a provision and one may do it for various reasons.

Similarly, kaya_jewels might have done it, which may not be a violation.

If say that you are not advocating the proposed fee then you should have asked kaya_jewels seperately rather than deviating the TOPIC and confusing other members on this board.

My dear friend, posting.id.in , do you know why people spend hundreds on a Cup of Coffee in a 5 Star hotel ?

Thats because they get value for money by getting the quality atmosphere.

We are also ready to pay any fee if we can get the returns. If someone pays Rs.100 and gets back Rs.500 as profit, he would be a fool not to invest.

Thats what kaya_jewels might have been doing on ebay.com ( if your R&D is true) and earning good profits.

She might be listing 1000's of Item on ebay.in and still not getting the reasonable Sales. (I can see only 346 items in the ID kaya_jewels.I am not aware of the other ID)

So you can judge the state of ebay.in at the moment. There is lots of work to be done before leving such a fee.

People are happily paying high fees for few Items on ebay.com but are cribbing after listing 1000's of their Items for FREE on ebay.in .

Come to the point
guys. Aww the topic is for gallery and listing designer fees on Ebay.in which is
totally wrong and forceful decsion taken by ebay India. Why Ebay India pinks are
not replying to this topic is another irritating matter for me now. Oh God plz
help me and my fellow sellers who don't want this fees to be charged. One more
interesting question is popping in my mind - Don't u think power seller name
should be changed to some other name because there is no power in hands of power
seller. Ebay don't even care to take any kind of feedback from sellers before
taking these steps. Ebay - Buyer friendly or seller friendly ???

oops..heated discussions again...Mr. Posting..... even i cud juss find 346 listings by Kaya Jewls.. where are the others yaar...??? i remember u had told me in my posting Rationing on ebay..that i had bid on 30 Products.... how do u manage to get such distorted info..?? hey please as a friend i tell u...do not try to put down someone...we are fighting here for a cause. i have listed 55 Products...and not a single sale...say if these were charged listings...all money wud be thru the drain...normally on mobiles, deo's etc.. we get a margin of Just 10-50 Rupees.. if we give ebay 75% of that..its like feeding someone else and throwing ur family on the streets......we invest..we list..we sell..then y do we have to pay huge margins..??? a decent 20% cut wudnt be much...ONLY ON SUCCESSFULLY SOLD ITEMS.

I have been following this discussion for a couple of days,
and please allow me to assure you that eBay is not out of touch
with the thoughts of its community members.

I can see that few members have welcomed the change as they
feel that it will ultimately help them improve their eBay sales.
The fees will help in removing non-saleable and multiple listings
from the site, which will improve inventory quality on site.
This will further help buyers in finding easily the products that
they want, thereby resulting in better sales for sellers.

However, some members have concerns that the gallery and
listing designer fee will hit their bottom line primarily because
they have too many unsuccessful listing, either because of
UPI or non selling items. Another concern is bad buyer experience
because the change might result in sellers listing without gallery,
and buyers will see lot of camera icon in the search page.

A few members have tried to come up with innovative solutions,
and we appreciate the efforts they have taken in the same.
Members of ‘Voices 8’, who visited eBay office yesterday,
have also left back some interesting thoughts on the topic.
We are taking notice of all the suggestions and in coming days
we will take a hard look at all your views before these changes
come live on the proposed dates.

Also, to answer the question by snrama “whether they charge
the Gallery fee for Shop listings” – the gallery feature
in shop listings will remain to be free.

Hello All,

Yes Rakhi, I realised that you are not listing on ebay.com but listing internationally from India. Accept my appologies for the same.

Anyway the point is if you can afford to spend Rs.15/- to Rs.30/- for an international listing why not a mere 0.25 paisa for a listing on eBay India and that too only on listing where you want a gallery image (100% optional feature).

For all champions of the community who took up the issue for the member - The other id of Rakhi Verma of Kaya Jewels is koolest.collections which when I posted had some 650 listings. At other times the id koolest.collections has as many as 1800 listings.

Most of the ratings on the id koolest.collections have been received by selling wallpapers, logos at 1 cent. Not that I have anything against such activity. I just wanted to know Rakhi's view on the same.

Once again, let me reterirate that I am no great fan of any additional fees levied by eBay.

Actually I am not totally aganist the changes.

Both the advantage and disadvantage are equal here.

Some sellers are really welcomed this change.

But it will be good for most of the sellers if its free.

As you have said, I hope it will continue to be free.

you to take a look at this point of mine -- Do u know sellers who don't mind
these change are high value item sellers that means out of 100% --- 10% says
this fee change is OK. That means only 10% of sellers are happy and 90% are
unhappy. So quantity of "UNHAPPY" is much more than that of "HAPPY". I guess
Ebay wants to offer full satisfaction for sellers as well as buyers. U said that
this fees will help to remove non - saleable items --- these are not non -
saleable items - actually they are items which are needed in a very low quantity
by buyers --- like cream, massager, etc. But if a buyer needs that item urgent
it would become a really bad experience for him to go through each and every
listing because gallery listing won't be there so he keeps on visiting each and
every listing individually just to find a cream, massager. It will be irritating
for him to browse all green icons one by one. I don't think there is anything
which can't be sold on Ebay. Every listing has it's day!!! "Sirf parakhane wale

Hello,

I resent the way this debate is being represented as being as a high value item seller v/s low value item seller. Or the introduction of gallery fees as an alternative to listing fees and a way to reduce MLs.

None of he the high value sellers will be benefited a wee bif if one thousand low value sellers list 1,00,000 items without gallery image. The categories for low value and high value are totally different. So a buyer going through either the serch view or category view will not see both the products. IF a buyer searches for an diamond ring, he will not see any creams, so what diff. does it make to the high value seller if the low value sellers lists with image or not?

Most of the high value sellers will list with images whatever the charges so the benefit of gallery image or lack of it will be nullified in each of the categories.

As an aside, I just checked the listings for Night Cream on the US site (ebay.com) and a lot of listing of night cream do have images even though they are charged.

I sell items costing Rs.99/- and as well as Rs.9999/- and hence I can be termed as a low value as well as a high value seller. If I do about 50 high value transactions in a month I also do about 100 mid value and 300 low value transactions in a month.
