Product and Fees Changes on eBay.in..Sellers - Happy or Unhappy?

Well I was
going through this announcement where I have seen various changes have done. But
when I saw Ebay wants Gallery and Listing Designer as chargeable I was really
unhappy. My fellow sellers what are your views about this ? R u Happy or Unhappy
? Do you think Gallery and Listing Designer need to be feesable to us ? My
views about Gallery And Listing Designer :

Reason : If
a seller is selling 2000 products will he choose gallery and listing designer on
1st April ? Answer is NO. Sales will go down. Fake buyers are in bulk in India.
Buyers are not in bulk and quantity of good buyers is very low.

I need my fellow
sellers views too. Plz reply to this thread with your views specifying the
reason . This change will be effective from 1st April,2006. Ebay - R u making
our April fool or what:-(:_|X-( ??

There's a growing concensus amongst many sellers that after the rule of charges for gallery images the site will be flooded with greenery ( listings without images ) making it a further cluttered site and worsening buyer experiences ! and the fear is quite justifed as with the coming scenario many would adopt the method of listing 1 item with photo and 4 alias listings without images . ...

How about Giving the buyers a " sort " feature
That is sort listings by gallery pics ...

So a buyer not wanting to see the junk listed in the green icons without images can avoid it

And since most of the buyers would sort out their views and want to look
at only listings with gallery pictures ,
The 0.25 paise paid by the seller wont hurt him ...

And Sellers who still want to list multiply with no gallery charges can do so at their heart's
content

A win win situation for everybody

Remember Gandhiji? - He started a Non Co-operation movement!

Lets all start a non co-operation movement agains eBay and post April 1st do not list a single product with the gallery image. I do not beleive there will be any huge difference is sales if low value product sellers list without images. High value sellers will not loose sleep over .25 p. A sekker like me who has only 20 listings every 3 days, i.e. 200 in a month would not think twice about spending a measly sum of Rs.50/-.

I would like all community members to go through the id of this US seller (he calls himself the world's largest eBay seller):

It will be more worthful if the things happen in Indian eBay. In India there are 330000000 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1=Approx 330000005 no of Gods, and we have to take care to all those. Where as that seller will take care only 1 God.

In India, here I have tasted 86 final bids by 86 different Buyers(?) in 2 weeks and all - yes all are bitter means Fake.

Is it there?

Hotel Taj Bengal can charge Rs. 250 for a cup of tea but can a village Hotel say "Mamajis Hotel" charge that?

He can easily mention "email us at auctions@everydaysource.com, we are unable to respond to "Ask Seller a question", can we do that at Indian eBay?

There, no of listing in one sub category "Desktop PC Components (213551)" is more than total indian eBay listings.

May be my observations/fustrations/thinking are illegal for this proposed Gallery Feature fees.

Hope somebody takes a note that most of the sellers are unhappy about this.

As always, eBay.in is trying to do something in the line of US / Europe. Don't compare buyers of West with most of those in India. Here too many people bid for fun or just to know how the system works. Among the few serious bidders some get defrauded by fraud sellers in their early bids and leave for ever. Compare those before imposing such fees.
First you must bring reliability to the system and make it adaptable to Indian scenario.
Impose the fees and eBay will loose the beauty of listing . DO you think pages after pages of green camera icon followed by bare listings will make this site more attractive to the new buyers of India. Remember to check my word in the next quarter - your listing earning will drop and the sales will also drop drastically.
I am ready to pay an increased FVF as it will be a definite cost addition but never such fees with such poor sales. You can even impose such a fee only for duplicate listings but please spare all single unsuccessful listings.

Do not follow others , be innovative

Hi,
In my last posting I requested eBay.in to be innovative rather than just blindly following other ebay sites. I shall be out of station for a couple of days and may not be able to participate in the community. May be someone may ask what I mean by innovative. So here's an advance example of something eBay can think of implementing for the Gallery View and Listing Designer that will surely please all the sellers and even buyers too.

Have two stages of Gallery view - one without any fees and another one with fees. Those with fees should be a bit larger and with a artistic animated border matching with the Listing Designer associated with the listing (including no designer condition).

Have two groups of Listing Designers- one without any fees and another one with fees. Those with fees should be animated and the member should be able to have some basic color choices to put his / her custom touch in it- like changing the border color composition, back ground type, type / density of animation / .

Most of the Indian buyers get attracted to the glitters. So those willing to spend more can definitely add prominency and beauty to their listings thus drawing more buyers. The amateurs like me and those skeptical about such extra expenditure without any extra benefit can stick to the old options.

Each and every people participating in this discussion can come up with such ideas - but first eBay must think in the right direction. One must know that imposing a fee do not always translate to gain. Check it out in the next quarter if eBay.in remain unrelenting enough to continue with the announced fees structure without a single additional benefit and the lacklustre safety legalities.

Someone here said that Crap Listing will be isolated,I would like to say that I have more then 600 Products on sale and I dont list the products 2-3 Times also...So if I want to offer a large variety of produts to Buyers.Its not wrong anyhow(n Its cant consider as Crap) and So if Gallery n Listing designer will be charge...I will have to pay a Handsome sum to ebay without any sale...???:( ??

Welll...I can say that This change will give a Nice Lesson to ebay when the Profit of sellers will reduce and thts mean profit of eBay will reduce as well.]

I totally agree with
shree_krishna_gems . This is India and here people are not educated about e -
shopping. In .com buyers as well as sellers are very much educated and they used
to login on daily basis. So stop comparing .com with .in . I really don't know
why pinks are not replying to this topic or else they have decided to reply to
this topic on 31st March, 2006 just to let us know that we should be ready to
get our April fool gift and be a foolish as well as poor seller on Ebay India. I
really don't understand Ebay guys just don't wanted to have some feedback on
this announcement before announcing it. Powersellers have no power really -
Today I can see this being a powerseller. It's just a icon next to our id that's
it. Where is the power dear ? Ebay - don't u think u should have created some
poll or feedback kind of thing before this announcement ??
