We understand that there are concerns on the continued supply of PowerSeller merchandise leading to out of stock situation and at times due to logistic reasons face delays in receiving new monthly supplies. Going forward we are happy to let you know that we will be giving Quarterly supplies of merchandise to Sellers who have maintained PowerSeller status for 3 consecutive months. This will ensure regular PowerSellers do not face out of stock situation on packing merchandise. In addition we have revamped the design & the messaging on the bag to make it more user friendly and reinforce key message

To optimize logistics and standardize processes we will provide 1 size bags and packing tapes. Based on feedback received from PowerSellers on under utility of some materials we will be discontinuing labels and letterheads will be given to Silver level and above w.e.f April’2008. Considering the significant changes being made in design, quantities and quarterly dispatch logistics this month we will be dispatching the material on 28th Apr as opposed to the standard practice of 18th of every month. Kindly bear with us and trust in the interest of overall betterment this is a minor compromise.


To my opinion most of the merchandise go waste as per the requirement by different type of PowerSellers. So, why not PowerSeller Team despatch a customised merchandise to the sellers?

For example, I require only the following items:

1. Letter Heads and
2. Labels (Stickers)

other items (bags and tapes) are just useless for me and are kept as it is.

Dear PowerSellers you too post your requirements here and hope that PowerSeller Team in future sends the customised merchandise as per our requirement.

This will reduce the sortage of merchandise to the PowerSeller Team too.

One More Addition to the earlier suggestion.

Packing Bags should be available in minimum 3 sizes.

Produts come in multiple sizes and hence bags should also be available in mulitple sizes.

Yes very true .... same here; I do not use the letterheads so frequently and certainly have a lot to spare. I fall short of bags and labels for sure.
Wish the bags would have come in a bigger size than the one's sent and also SHOULD HAVE A BIGGER DEPTH to boxes can easily be put inside. This can be achieved by having folds on the corners.

Well, with due respect, I do not agree with Devesh's idea about charging these stuff ! What advantage a PS would have over the other users ?

I am more concerned about the sizes as this will certainly make the process more efficient and cost effective !!

The idea here is that there wont be any misuse of the bags. the charges as suggested can be concessional ...


eBay has recently started the Merchandise system which covers up another element which differentiated it with other sites. Now in the coming months lets hope to get the process streamlined ...cheers

I prefer the packing envelopes (the most) , tape (one is enough in a month) and stickers pack (2 in a month time).
I never used or hope will never ever use the letter heads they are of no use to me.

But the supply according to my sold items list is very low all the time. I dispatch approx 9 to 18 parcels 3 or 4 times a week that means i need approx 150 to 200 packing envelopes a month while i hardly get 100 - 120 for a month time.

After paying up FVF,paisapay fees,manager tools and what not,paying for powerseller merchandise would not be a practical thing to do.Based on the level of powerseller status,ebay can send the number of packages needed for the seller.

Though I am not qualified enough to make a comment since I became a Powerseller only in the last 24 hours 😄 and I have not even seen one piece of these ebay goodies ever.

Nevertheless my two cents ...


It is clearly evident from the debate that some PS want some of the stuff more than other goodies that are available. So clearly in this classic case of one-size-doesn't-fit-all .

As Zaman suggested to charge this and order them as per their requirement seems to pretty good idea to cater to this problem. But not with real money.

It should be using some kind of coupons/play-money which eBay should award every powerseller every quarter/monthly.


That way every powerseller goes and uses the quota money allotted to buy whatever suits them from the suggested order-page. It then becomes a tailored offering.

This will lead to :

1. Every PS only gets what he uses.

2. Powerseller eBay team, presumably, outsources this packing and despatch exercise.So they shouldn't have much problems. From now on , instead of giving the list of powersellers, they will include the itemised details for each seller to their outsourced partner.

3. Even the PS with higher rung , will benefit from this, since he has got more coupons than his poorer cousins.

4. Powersellers can also save this coupons and actually plan for rainy days or boom/sale season as the case may be.

5. Going ahead, PS can also buy 'extra' coupons, if required, for some real money on subsidised rate 😉 .

The voucher system is much better,rather than paying for the merchandises.But how far will the voucher system be practical for a long list of powersellers is the main question.

The powerseller team would have to waste a lot of time assigning the quota of merchandises to the long list of powersellers.Rather than this,they can send a minimum list of merchandises according to the status level of the powersellers.
