1. it is a case of seller cheating the buyers.
2. If that CD would have worked i would have been using a pirated game.
How does E-bay control such issues?

We, at eBay, are very much concerned about piracy issues. We always urge our sellers and buyers to report any potential violations so that we may deal with them accordingly. To do the same go to the following link -

We have a "Buyer Protection Program" for buyers who feel that they have been cheated by sellers.
The eBay Buyer Protection Program is a service under which eBay may review reports of fraudulent transactions and may make an ex-gratia payment to you if eBay considers that you have been the victim of fraud and meet the necessary requirements. Every eBay member in good standing will be considered under the terms of our protection program.
The following link contains the details of the program and also links to lodge a complaint in the buyer protection program

Yes there is lot of pirated stuff being sold on baazee. I recently purchased a cd of computer software from one of the seller and all the software that were in the cd were either freeware or shareware programs clearly stating that these are for personal use only and cannot be sold.So Ebay kindly look into this before some company sues you for listing the pirated software which cannot be sold.

Inspite of contacting eBay through the Contact Us Link for both reporting piracy and also reporting multiple listings we find no action has been taken till date which makes us to think whether the piracy complaint reports sent are ever read.
Anyways here is a list of a few sellers selling pirated items:
gamesuwann
devinderkhokher
sammulla
nishkamchoudhry003
esoft_in1
The above sellers are guilty of both pirated listings and multiple listings
The seller ebuy-store deals in Original Software but every item he sells is listed atleast 20 times. This really is taking up ad space and also irritates a serious buyer. Inspite of complaints once again no action has been taken???
We feel all eBay has to do to confirm the pirated nature of the products is e-mail the reported sellers asking for proof ot the software they are selling. If they are unable to furnish purchase bills, or re-selling licenses that should be evidence enough.
We request eBay to take this matter up seriously to prevent illegal listings on eBay and also to protect the general interest of the buyer.
We do hope we get a response to our concern at the. And please do not ask us to use the Contact Us link because as already mentioned by us that system of yours is not taking any action.

Just like Movies and videos, make GAMES a restricted category as well. Only sellers who sign an official contract with ebay will be allowed to sell games.
Those who are serious about selling games will sign up the contract.
This will, to a large extent, curb the sellers who are indulging in Piracy.
Regards
Abhishek
