Its a great decission by ebay. It will definiatly gives buyer as well as ebay website a clean image/look of product. But changing all picture at once is bit dificult for me as i am a one man army who is handling online business with ebay. So i think you should give us some time to alter all our listings(Pictures).
Thanks & Regards

Let work slow on picture policy or any other policy that a seller has to work on.. Why dont we work on a policy that works for feedback..
We need report a buyer feature like ebay US
We need negative feedback for buyers back.
We need policies to remove feedback if there is no co operation from a buyer to resolve an issue.
Back to Picture policy..
Will you educate the buyers that the picture shown is taken under a flash light and as per standards.. so if the buyer gives a negative saying the item is not as shown in pic then atleast we can have that feedback removed.
I have had several irate buyers saying they expected the item to be more shiny and white as per the pic.. how do I explain to him or her that the picture is that of the actual item but under a flash light...
You should take a survey if buyers want good pictures or not.. Half my buyers want a camera phone type picture.. ebay wants a white background pics with good lighting..
Now dont put us sellers in a fix with such ideas.. unless you can protect us

Attn ebay President, This Picture policy is Draconian for all the sellers. Most of the ebay seller is one man show for selling and handling ebay business. Everyone does not have expertise in editing images with photoshop. Its very time consuming too. There are too many parameters enforced for uploading picture to sell the item/s on ebay. e.g. its manually inpossible for me or my staff to edit or take new images with white background without using any props, of 2000 item/s listings before 15th January 2014. Its very less time given by ebay to the sellers to revise and upload white background images without having any props and any item holding materials. Since last several years ebay sellers are selling thier items taking just a simple images without worrying about it's background. If ebay enforce this policy and restrict the item/s relisting after 15th January 2014, than i will have no other option left with me, except to close down my shop and ebay account. This policy implementation is very arbitary. Rather implementing such a strict policy for the sellers and making selling on ebay so difficult, ebay should emphasise on how to overcome the competitions created by other online selling portals with their aggressive marketing via TV adds & outdoor medias here in India. Hope you will consider all the aspect and revive this DRACONIAN Picture policy at your earliest. Its very rediculous.

eBay picture policies are making it very difficult to continue my business on eBay.
All these policies are given that make me spend countless hours of work.
The only reason given is that buyers prefer the pictures when they are in accord with the new policies.
But the new policies force sellers like me off eBay, and limit the number of products available to buyers.
I'm pretty sure a buyer would prefer to buy my great value item with a non-white background than a lesser value item with a white background. Which is what they will be doing after these policies force me to stop selling jewelry.
It makes me suspicions if the reason given is just a pretend reason and they have other agendas. Making so many sellers do so much work just because it is more (allegedly) pleasing to the buyers eye? Its hard to believe.

You just need to sign up to eBay (you dont need a store), Then click on the sell button. There are different ebay sites in different countries. eBay.com is for USA, eBay.com.uk is for the UK etc. Choose a site based on where you are, your target audience and the sices policies/fees.
