PaisaPay Fee Revision! 4% is too high!

Hi All,

The PaisaPay fee (which has revised to 4%) is too high.

Making Online Bank Transfer from 2% (inclusive of taxes) to 4% + Taxes as applicable is certainly makes expensive for
sellers.

PaisaPay team should charge for buyers. The prices will be hiked by all the sellers and thus this will result to less sales as compared to the local market (main target will be high value products).

I am feeling that seller will become a total bakara (Listing Fee, FVF, PaisaPay Fee with no sales).

PaisaPay has removed the service of UTI NetBanking, They are not even interested in adding more payment gateways. ---------------

Hello Sapana,

You have said that ....

we are completely aware that PaisaPay can add a lot more value to our sellers and buyers and we are actively seeking out those opportunities. We have a huge range of initiatives lined up that we think will help us row the business for our sellers. You will hear about them shortly.

Do you plan to increase PaisaPay Charges with every Iinitiative / Extra feature your provide ?

Yes ... you have a long way to go from 4% to 100% .... ๐Ÿ™‚

Jokes apart .... but all these costs should come out of improved turnover rather than increased percentage margin. .

Hello,

The only feature which would justify increase is PaisaPay fees is EMI option at 0% interest.

PaisaPay Fee Revision! 4% is too high!

Hi sapna,

yes its true that day by day expenses are increasing, but on same time turnover is also increasing .

our suggestion is too implement increase on item up to 5000-7000 , for high value keep it same.

we hope that due to verification of credit card chargback is very rare,As ebay verify all the cards,so risk is minimized.

ebay need to add more & more payment option to earn more orders like,Simple EMI option, itz card option,UTI bank option, debit card acceptance.

considering todays healthy competition 10% payout is very big in any business terms, what ebay think we are earning 20-25% or what ? at such margins buyer will think twice before purchase,Today malls like shopper stop,Spencer, big bazaar, croma comming up with big portals for online sales,we have to provide good price against them also.

ebay bigheads should think about it.

hope everthing will go smoothly.

Banks give only 6% interest for 1 year savings account deposits. Just to pass the cash from buyers online account to seller by cheque charging 4% is too much (i mean for debit cards). I am going to increase my price by 5% from next month to meet this extra expenses, let me see what is the impact on sales.

Dear Sapana,

Some of you have mentioned the concern about the revised price for OBT and the need to add more banks to the system. Industry wide it has been noticed that 80% of online payments happen via credit card, while OBT account for a very small number of transactions. Given this trend it seems that investing in improving credit card usage (including risk mitigation, new ways to pay via Credit Card etc) will get better returns for our sellers.

This kind of excuse is kind of lame.If OBT accounts for a minor portion of the transactions, then why should it be increased when the security of the credit cards should be more into focus.More usage via credit cards is only going to strangle the savings of the sellers. There are no steps taken to ensure the verification of OBT's as they are done via secure routes as compared to credit cards.

Within a few months, more buyers would be attracted to other online portals since most of the sellers would increase the prices due to the hike in paisapay comission. When the retail giants reduce the prices online to a real low value, obviously word would pass among customers that so an so online portal is better than ebay in discounts and gift vouchers.

Let me c where this ends up.Anyways, best of luck for the implementation to the new commission.I want to c if ebay would really be a marketplace.

Thanks for the reply Sapana. What is the use of OBT if the charges are the same as credit card? There was no need to hike the OBT charges as only 20% of transactions are made as per Sapana's reply.

Lets see, what happens next month.. ---------------

Lets try to think out of the box
All payments made by PP are covered by Ebay protection.
Now in buyer dissatisfaction cases , some customers also go for CHARGEBACK ,
so full burden does not go on EBAY
But in OBT there is no provision for chargeback and in case of a buyer seeking Protection ,
Full burden goes on ebay.

Is ebay trying to on one hand offer protection??
but on other hand does not want to lighten its purse ???

As pointed by Snrama, If only a small percentage of people use OBT , A steep rise in charges is indeed unwarranted !

I guess most sellers are not opposing any increase in PP charges ,
but the magnitude and steep rise is what most find unfair .

PaisaPay Fee Revision! 4% is too high!

Hi Navaneeth,
If eBay spends the increased tariff to improve our selling experiences,I think it is okay.
Just noticed that international buyers have totally stopped buying from me.Dont know how that happened.Any clues???
Thanx,

Hi Amitava,

Its not a problem for low value products as the charges are small and can recover PaisaPay charges with the product value or in shipping cost.

But its a definitely costs much for high value products. ---------------
