I am Kashyap Vadapalli, Director – Marketing & Business Development. I invite you to join me for an Open House discussion on eBay Marketing initiatives.

At eBay, the key task for my team is to ensure that we showcase the Lots of Safe, Easy, Deals available on eBay to our buyers. The objective being to drive visitors, convert visitors into buyers and ensure that an ever increasing part of a buyers overall spending is on eBay. Some of the key initiatives that we have made in this direction are:

  • High impact promotions like Diwali Bonus, Raining Deals to ensure that we are at top of mind with the consumers during key spending seasons.
  • Special events for Top Buyers in Mumbai & Delhi to strengthen their relation with eBay
  • Exciting discount coupons to visitors to entice them to try eBay
  • Launch of Global EasyBuy to give our buyers access to a large pool of international items delivered conveniently at their doorstep

    We have also planned a very exciting nationwide campaign to increase the awareness about eBay and generate trial. We expect the campaign to go live in 1st week of December. I will like to share a sneak peak of the campaign with you. In addition to the above I will be also available to discuss your suggestions on eBay Marketing.

    During the IPL campaign, the top buyers in Mumbai & Delhi were invited for a special get to gether to see the match, meet fellow eBayers and relax with their friend / family.

    It was a great for us at eBay to meet so many of our users.

    Hi All - Kashyap here again....

    In the TV spots you will see a consistent them - that is itself structured around a TV Talk Show. This is a talk show that callers can all and ask questions to the anchors. In the talk-show we are replicating a specific look-and-feel from a creative point of view. This specific look feel is designed to cut through the clutter of glitzy advertising of today and stand out basis it's uniqueness. The narrative flow on the spots is designed to be non-linear, i.e. the caller calls in with a question that is 'out-of-the-ordinary' and the response of the anchors seems out-of-context. But at the same time - the focus is on getting the eBay messages of deals, range, trust out to the viewers. The look-feel and non-linearity are designed specifically to cut-through the clutter and attract interest. I will not reveal any more details here. Please have a look for yourselves.

    1. Re you people happy with the CS sections ?
    2. For ebay who is more important - A Seller or a Buyer ? Lets not indulge in evergreen Egg came first or Hen ?

    I am from Kolkata - don't U have good Buyers in this city of Joy for having the Joy of having and sharing such Events as had been organised in Delhi and Mumbai ?

    2. Sir a Few states including W Bengal has Entry Tax problems - Is anything concrete being done to solve it ?
