If ebay starts CHARGING LISTING FEES ................

Hello,



The news of Gallery Fees and Designer Fees came to us as a
SURPRISE.



Finally, Designer Fee was postpond and Gallery was charged at the rate of
Rs.0.25.



Since then the quality of site has decreased and many buyers have shifted to
other sites for shopping.



Many Sellers have experienced drop in Sales.



I feel the growth of the ebay site has faced a set back.



Now, it won't be a SURPRISE if ebay comes with
a LISTING FEES.



No site can beat ebay and ebay can't afford to loose its buyers.



What do you think should be the amount..... if ebay starts charging LISTING FEES
?



I feel .... to begin with Rs.0.25 per listing should be
an appropriate amount.



In ebay.com the listing fee for Items priced between $ 1 and $ 9.99, the Listing
fee is US$ 0.35 ( i.e Rs.16 per listing )



At present ebay.com with that kind of Listing fees has more than 1,60,00,000
listings ( One crore sixty lakhs ).



On ebay India we just have around 2,25,000 listings.



We won't crib to pay listing fees provided sales improve.

But without improvement in Sales, even Rs.0.25 per listing would NOT be a viable
amount.



I feel listing fees should be there but it should help
in improving the site visibility & Sales.

It shouldn't be a burden on a Seller.



What do you all have to say ?

i feel ebay has a long way to go in India before they consider listing fees.

What is the use of such paisa fees in listing?

Is this fee will stop Multiple Listing? No, not at all.
Is this will help to increase the visibility of the site? No
Is this will curb the Fraud/Banned listing? No
Is this will increase net revenue of eBay? I think it is also No.
Then what is the benifit of Listing Fess in paisa(25 or 50)

But it will help other online selling sites to take the Campaigning Advantage.

Now if it is Rs 2 or Rs 5 - is there total listing count will be above 1L? Yes eBay net revenue may increase but eBay India will fail in totality in so many areas in Global eBay comparison.

Implementing Listing Fee is a big challange to eBay India.

It must be implemented but fees structure is very critical to decide. Before decide there should be a thorough market analysis as eBay India is not a single entity like Past Baazee.com. Global impact is there.

Already eBay.in is facing the heat of Gallery Fees implementation - eBay is now in a condition of 'in Bengali - Saper Chucho gella' - means 'eating a RAT by a Sanke'.
Same should not be repeat again.

I think at this stage the listing fees should be Rs. 0.25. Also it is very important to make the gallery either free or compulsory as it will make the overall experience of a buyer better on the site. If there are too many listings without gallery picutre the site does not look professional. On other sites also you cannot post a listing w/o an image.. =============

Hi Umang Midha,
Listing fee,if at all,should be Rs0.10 and gallery fee for the first pic should be ZERO.That is reasonable.You can do 1000 listings for just 100 bucks.If that is Rs0.25,okay, you got to spend Rs250.00.
That is somewhat on the higher side.,
This is my view.But some listing fee must be there.Otherwise non salable junks will crowd the site.
There should be a check on the joy bidder as well as joy lister.

Very well said.

In case ebay comes up with LISTING FEES, then we don't mind paying a reasonable amount but along with it ebay must ensure that there is a check on the joy bidder as well as joy lister.

Hi,

Quality of listings and the quantity of sales has been decreased. I don't think most of the buyers have shifted to other shopping sites. But the day will come for buyers to change the site if the product quality and seller listings gets poorer.

Almost all Sellers have experienced drop in Sales.

I am ready to spend till Rs.2 per listing if I get a minimum of one order per each multi-quantity listings.

Atleast 75% - 80% successfull sold listings (with payment :-D) ---------------

I am listing at .com in shop format for 3 cents with one pic.
You know, that kind of listing appears at the tail end of others.But then,.com gives a much better exposure.Auction format costs more.But,for just being there on .com pages is also great.
The same thing costs more in UK and much more in Australia.
Indians are biggest shoppers.Indian traders are most efficient.
How else L N Mittal could become so big starting from the dinghy bye lanes of Calcutta?
Our eBay should become 10 times bigger.Let us device something to achieve that goal.
Buyers should say how the services could be improved. Let us make eBay greater.

Do you think that eBay is listening to us...!!

I am very sure that this post and all such similar post will be proved to be of no use.
eBay do not care at all.

They want profit by hook or crook.Sellers may face many problems but they will not reply at all and if by very good luck you get a reply then it will be like Sorry we are helpless etc etc.

now a days I do not much post in Community Board as eBay o not bother to reply.
