DTDC guys ripped the packet,Stole the earphone inside lynx-india sent again

Hi all
I ordered an soundmagic PL-30 earphone on 24/11/2010 [on Ebay.in and the seller is lynx-india Chandigarh ],

The seller shipped the box to my office address in kolkata through DTDC [Z24943970]

On 1/12/2010 around 1-30 pm the parcel was received by my office mail room , in all faith to DTDC they did not open the packet in front of the delivery guy ,
When they handed me over the box I opened it and only to find that the BOX and the casing is there but the earphone and the ear foams [buds] are care fully removed from the packed to deliver an empty box only.

I found very hard to convince the seller that I actually received an empty box , he was very right in suggesting that we should have opened the box before the taking the delivery.

I enquired my office mail room they said - "we receive many deliveries from the DTDC " and this kind of incident is very rare. So I don't blame the mail room for having trust on DTDC.

I called up DTDC dtdc kolkata 033 23351581
Got redirected to 033 25005406

Then to dtdc chadigarh 0172 3079416

And finally called 0172 3062761 to enquire , The lady who picked up the call took my mobile no and assured to call back within an hour , but she never called back , Phone kept ringing when I called back

I ordered and enquiry to DTDC through mail and phone . But no one cares to reply. Perhaps they are playing the waiting game . So do not trust these cheats. Always open the box in front of the delivery guy . This is the mistake I have done .

The seller finally had some belief [although the first day he said "enjoy the free earphone"] on me and finally agreed to resend the shipment through DTDC -Z24943907
[again!!] This time I opened the packet in front of them and got it all fine .

In all this was a horrible experience of e-shopping for me .

In my item Listing (Item number:180587291219 ) this was clearly written that the item will be dispatched only through Bluedart or Aramex only.
So i told the buyer that the item will not be shipped due to non-availability of any of these mentioned courier service.

The Buyer asked to shipp through DTDC. We told the buyer about our past experiences with DTDC are not good as the items from the packets were stolen. And as the value of this item is Rs.690 so we will not ship the item through DTDC. The Buyer asked us to ship through DTDC at his OWN RISK.

The Item was disptatched on Saturday, November 20, 2010 through DTDC C.No. Z15543689 for KULLU -175134(HP)
The web tracking results showing item at AMBALA APEX, AMBALA but no information about the packet where is it.

in Between the buyer also filed a ITEM NOT RECEIVED case (although he asked us to ship through DTDC at his own risk) and the REFUND was approved.

Contacted Several times DTDC ( Delhi & Ambala ) but no Response.


Now i have lost the item and the Money too. This could be avoided if i have not shipped through other than Bludart & Aramex.

I just bought a product from a seller in Chandigarh on 6th, he shipped it on 8th Dec via air mail, the waybill number is showing that its dispatched for kolkata on 8th itself. But i didn't get delivery yet nor is the status changing in the online tracking page. I get deliveries by Bluedart normally and its damn good. But just saw the forum today, now m tensed about my parcel. Will i even get it or is it already misplaced ? I also mailed DTDC giving my waybill number, as to when can i expect the delivery of the package but no reply from them. Usually it gets delivered within 2 days. This time its diffrent. It should have been faster this time.

If you pack the items properly, rarely it gets stolen. The packing should be such that it should not be easy to repack it after opening. It means that the packing is destroyed once you open it. Most of these thefts are done by delivery guys when they are out for delivery. And if the packing is good, they generally do not tamper it. This is as per my experience after sending more than 6000 parcels and most of them through DTDC.

I saw in front of my own eyes D.T.D.C guys opening parcels of consignors.From that day I avoid shipping costly items through them.

I agree with all the folks who are saying that DTDC cheats us.

So far I never faced any problem, but I can't ignore the fact.
They can easily steal the item as it goes from many hands and they can also refuse your claim.
Its not fool proof

I ordered a tablet PC from a seller in Ludhian to Chennai... For the same, the seller used DTDC with consignment number Z50672897.
THe delivery boy very smartly slipped out the tablet PC and delivered an empty parcel at the office. Since, the parcel was recieved by front office, the weight differnce could not be percieved at that time.
The deleivery boy's fingere prints are there on the inside of the tape he used to repaste the opened parcel.
Police is not very helpful and they wont even register a case but finally i got their cooperation and hopefully tomorrow the delivery boy will be apprehended.
This is a matter of shame for DTDC whom I have called repeatedly over the past few days with absolutely no response from them. last time i called the sr. executive even asked me not to go to police.
I have evidence with me and I shall file a case if possible

Professional couriers do the same.Two items were stolen from the parcel I sent to my buyer.The courier boys delivered the ripped parcel not to the buyer but left it below her house with the security guard,so that they wouldn't be questioned.
