dear all
When i see the diwali assured gifts offer from ebay, i remember sadly my experience during their valentine gifts offer.
I had purchased two items and opted for the free gifts through ebay about 6 months back.
Ebay never sent me the gifts, despite repeated communication with them.
So beware of the FAKE Offers !!! U will neveeeer receive them.
This incident has also reduced my transactions through ebay and loose belief in ebay.

@Sapana...

Hi, Rajeev here, I spoke to paisapay customer care 2 days back for dispatch of Diwali gifts and what she said is as follows "We will begin dispatch of the Diwali gifts only after the Diwali promotion ends that is 17th Oct 2009 and you will get it in 45 days after that"

These are her exact words. Can I know what is the real situation and when will I get my Diwali gift (Moser Baer DVD player)

looks like this gifting business has always been an issue. i think much of this aggravation would be reduced if eBay was more transparent in letting us know the timelines for when they plan to dispatch and within how many days would we receive it by putting the info either in the help page or on the promo page itself.

I remember that i had bought 2 items during the 4th anniversary promotion and was in the same mood as some of you are when i received my ordered items and not my gifts. It was only after chat with eBay rep that i found i would have to wait 45 days from end of promo to get the gift.

Anyway, i did receive all the gifts that i was eligible for. so no complaints there at all!

I am eligible for the Moser Baer DVD player this time around so it remains to be seen when i get it. But i am confident eBay will fulfill its promise.

Also, a tip to the gentleman who was pissed off by the support executives: One, leave feedback. Two, don't CALL - either chat or email. This way you have the comm in black-n-white in case you need to escalate!

A suggestion to eBay: Why don't you put up the free gift as a separate entry in My Paisapay itself with seller as eBay.in and paid amount as 0?? This way the timelines and status would be transparent and easily accessible to the buyers! You are doing something similar for Global EasyBuy anyway!

Ok...this is becoming too long an entry!! -- Signature: I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Hi all,
First thing i want to tell all the members that ebay is not fraud or gifts are not fake but the dispatch team has to work seriously to keep the ebay members happy. In either way the ebay dispatches the gifts whether your registered address is correct or not.
In my case almost every week i contact ebay to know my gift status. During 4th anniversary(i dont remember what offer was there exactly) customer service told me that my registered address is not correct and the gift is lying with the courier people, so i contacted the courier people and collected the gift this was after around 65 days(after end of 4th anni. gifts)
So customer person told me to update the registered address, and i updated it but for next gift offers they sent the gift to the old address even after repeatedly confirming my registered address if updated o r not. Every time they say the registered address is updated but they send to the old address.
My concern is if ebay is investing on gifts atleast send the gifts to proper address and send the member a indication that the gift has been dispatched. or else the second option is stop the ebay gifts.
Till now i am contacting every week to customer care that i have not received monsoon gifts, every time the answer is "awaiting updates form dispatch team"
again there are 3 nos Diwali gifts... god knows i will receive it or not?:|

for a min i thought this discussion was going nowhere, what with ppl asking to consider diwali gift-codes and all. I want to know how many ppl think below suggestion is practical?? If enough ppl agree, maybe it'll happen:

A suggestion to eBay: Why don't you put up the free gift as a separate entry in My Paisapay itself with seller as eBay.in and paid amount as '0'?? This way the time-lines and status would be transparent and easily accessible to the buyers (and they will be able to verify that the delivery address is correct or not)! You (eBay) are doing something similar for Global EasyBuy anyway! -- Signature: I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Thank you for writing to eBay. This is Vijay from ebay customer support team.

I understand from your mail that you want to know as to when you will be receiving the Diwali Free Gift as regards PaisaPay ID: 253233xxxxx.

I would be glad to assist you in this regards. I would like to inform you that as specified in the Terms and Conditions related to Diwali Free Gift offer, the Gifts would be dispatched to the eligible members at there Contact Address latest by 45 Days from the date of transaction.

Please be rest assured, once we receive an Update from the concerned team as regards the Gift being dispatched to you, we would definetly revert back to you informing you about the same and providing the necessary dispatch details.

I bought a netbook worth INR 18600 on 18/09/09 on auction. I made the payment on 21/09/09. I was eligible for the Diwali gift worth around INR 2000. Somehow, during payment at paypal, the window didnt open, hence I missed the deserved gift. When I wrote to the customer care, (quoting their replies that the Diwali Gift scheme in fact ran from 16th September 2009 till 17th October 2009), they gave vague answers, telling that i can apply for the free gift on my next transaction! I never got to understand this! Will they ever reconsider?
