It seems that a lot of buyers of high value products are being taken for a ride by some unscrupulous sellers.
Here are some tips to avoid these pitfalls:
1) Check sellers ratings - A rating of 95% should be good enough.
2) Always pay by PaisaPay, so you have a docummented record of payment. Avoid sellers who do not offer PaisaPay. If you pay by Credit Card, additional purchase protection may be available from your credit card issuer.
3) If a seller mentions bill and warranty - ask the seller whant he means by the same. Will the bill have a vat no.? Is the warranty for spares and service and is it a manufacturers'/importers' warranty? Strictly avoid products with dealer's warranty.
If after the above precautions, you still get defrauded, you can file a INR (item not received) or SNAD (significantly not as described) dispute.
If the seller does not resolove you claims after the dispute has been filed, you can escalate the dispute and file a claim under eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Program.
