Pricing Changes on eBay India

Together with you we have been pursuing the goal of growing the online shopping business in India. To do this we have been investing continuously, along with our seller-members, to achieve the common objective of buyer delight.

Changes in eBay Fees: Post discussions with our key sellers across categories and after understanding the commercial dynamics of the ‘supply-chain’ in various product categories, we have made changes to the eBay.in fee structure and these can be viewed on the announcement board.

We would be conducting an online workshop tomorrow from 4 to 5 PM on this thread & we encourage you attend this Workshop, or use our Customer Support Resources to help you understand the overall Fees changes.

This is a new Step of Ebay towards the Closure of Small Shop Owners. eBay will certainly loose Genuine sellers like us who have more than 150000 active listings on ebay.in .

Sellers cannot sustain with this pricing. As mentioned by rajelectroniks, it’s better to shut than getting 1-2% margin at the end of the day.

Dear eBay Team & Members,

I too strongly disagree with the pricing changes.

Being from the tech category already the margins were less for premium shop holders the 'ZERO' listing fee was digestable but now an increase in premium shop too and also no zero listing fee i wonder how they took such a step.

I am already facing restrictions because of buyer dissatisfaction.ebay buyers want their products overnight and if we fail to deliver negatives,SNP,suspensions etc.

Too much of headache and at the end of the day you come to know that we have earned nothing and just wasted our precious time.

Already where there is cut throat competition with prices this price rise from ebay india is not digestable at all.

Previously too all known sellers have closed their businesses on ebay and those few left are also leaving now

NOT EVEN A SINGLE PERSON IN THIS FORUM has agreed the price change.

We have also closed our premium shop totally as there is no point in spending so much with listing fees there in it.

lets see where future takes us in our ebay business at the moment no business due to restrictions.

its not a fair step by ebay india , totally unexpected , please reverse some changes in new paisa pay and other fees . fees changes in shop , paisa pay listing fees , and final value fees together at same time is totally worst case scenario for ebay sellers , courier prices are also expected to change

Why Ebay dont understand due to Petrol Price Hike , we are also in threat from our courier partners to increase the Rates of Courier .. And now Ebay taking FVF (7% for me) , how can i provide low courier to Customers ..

Customers want Free Shipping always ... If you rise the Product Cost , then be ready to get Negative feedback (Product Costlier than Market etc etc ) or else work for Peanuts ...

Why don't Ebay do their own tie ups with Courier and provide us the low cost carrier and makes standard
rates for every customer ... ???????

Its only loose loose situation for buyers as well as for Ebay ..

A WORST DECISION TAKEN BY EBAY. I AGREE WITH ALL OTHERS SELLER'S COMMENTS. WHILE THE COMPETETIONIS INVREASING DAY BYDAY, WHERE THIS DECISION WILL DROP DOWN SALES SPECIALLY IN TECHNOLOGY CATEGORY.

FRUSTRATING THAT BASIC SHOP FEE JUMP UPTO FROM RS.299/- TO RS.499/- AND I'M THINKING ABOUT CLOSING MY SHOP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

While everyone, except 1 or 2 sellers, are opposing the price hike, one important thing to note is the verbiage used in the announcement: "We are aware that, as a seller, you have a choice of outlets through which you can sell your products."

Couple of sellers pointed this already. This goes to show how rude ebay is to their sellers. Customer Care, T&S and every other team operates in the same lines. They are adamant that they can run the show as they wish and probably think sellers have no other options but to obey them. I am sure this statement would have pinched many loyal ebayers. Take it or leave it attitude. And they are saying they discussed with key-sellers which does not look to be a believable fact. I would appreciate atleast 1 seller who was discussed with, comments here. I didnt see that till now. May be eBay India's definition of Key-seller is something different. Day by day ebay is developing more policies and procedures to corner sellers - their goal of providing ultimate buyer experience is commendable but in that lines, they should not neglect sellers and chalk-out strategies to weed out all sellers from ebay. If no seller exists, there wont be any buyers - ebay should remember that. Or they are planning something of sourcing things on their own and sell instead of continuing as a buyer-seller platform?? God knows..... Anyways future will say everything.

This is absolutely ridiculous decision from ebay's end. And as usual, ebay never heard any plea of sellers.. This is just a buyer centric company. Because they know they have monopoly in the market. (remember the feedback policy?? How ridiculous it is for sellers!! We can receive negative but can't leave?? and if you remember they have just increased the feature fees, for example Home page, border, highlight etc just 2 - 3 months ago. Sellers even went for a strike after this.. But ebay already knows the result that whatever they do, sellers are bound to come back as there are none big in the market.. This is their mindset.. Seems, they have forgot that we, who made ebay bigger). I don't know who are the persons, who strategies these things on ebay which is suicidal for ebay only. I know, that's the reason many sellers changing platform from ebay to other selling portal like buynsellindia.com (I personally like and sell here, though this is a very new site but their policies are very good compare to other sites, fees are very less, Customer support is Awesome), indiatimes.com, rediffshopping.com and others. And I think this was the last bad thing ebay could do. This time they have increased the fees 30 - 40 % more where other sites are giving better service in less than 30-40% fees and guess what.. their policies are much more transparent than ebay!! Guys, this is the main difference between a USA site and Indian site.. Let's join hand together and leave ebay immediately for our betterment. I think this is the only way we can teach ebay a lesson.. Don't play with sellers from where you generate revenue!! Do not forget because of us you earn bread and butter and run your family! If sellers are not there.. ebay will be finished..
