Shipping and handling charges is one of the important aspects that a buyer considers while buying on eBay. Data has shown that Free / standardized shipping charges help improve buyer confidence and seller’s sales. However, when buyers see unreasonable shipping charges, they spend less overall. To help right-price and bring about increased standardization in the shipping and handling charges, a limit on maximum shipping and handling charges are being introduced in the following categories:http://pages.ebay.in/aboutebay/Final_Shipping_Caps.html
These changes will be applicable from 11th October 2010
These limits are applicable to all domestic shipping methods:
• Flat Rate Courier – Delivery anywhere in India
• Local Courier – Delivery within a seller’s city
• National courier – Delivery Outside a seller’s city
• PaisaPay Cash on Delivery
These limits are not applicable to International Shipping options.
For most sellers, these changes do not affect how you currently list on eBay as most listings are already within these postage limits. The remaining small percentage of sellers who currently charge more than the above mentioned shipping charges, should review their listings to ensure they are in line with these changes.
Listings that have shipping charges more than the above limits post 11th October 2010 will not go live on eBay.in.

sir i dont agree with any thing eBay is doing nowadays, but just asking you "Do you have any other option?" If we do not agree, what else we can do? except stop selling on eBay.
Better thing to do is, agree with what they are dictating and hit the spot at the right time, under the right circumstances. Check my items now. I have increased prices for almost every product I am selling now is at MRP.
Not participating in DOW or any other promotion any more. Not buying any reason from eBay to cut down the prices and good news is, Sales are still happening. Although there is drop in sales now, but who cares my profit has increased. buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.

I think you are absolutely right.
Let them frame absurd policies.
Does not matter.
We abide by all policies and still earn more.
My only regret is:
1.Indiapost tried to kill book business by abolishing fgn-bookpost.
2.Ebay tried to rescue by introducing zero listing fee. But I think now they dont like book sellers to survive.
God is great.
Ebay is also great.
Thanx,
Truly,
Amitava

We have option we are really fool who is selling product without any margin in DOW and what we are getting after doing all have you reviewed it??? You know I had one very bad experience with this DOW in past. I got confirmation that I will get FVF if I list my product in DOW. In month of March I had participated. But still No FVF Credit GIVEN. Also only we are working on it this answer I am getting How we will believe now if we face such issue. I have learned one thing that
1. DO not sell anything without sufficient margin.
2. Do not make competition about rates
As I have seen that some of the sellers are giving prices with margin of 10-15 Rs. Do you think that its sufficient? Why they are doing this I don;t know if eBay is not leaving there 1Rs. insertions fee then why we give such prices??

This is an accepted practice to enhance item cost and reduce shipping. But some sellers will like to give a real picture instead of hiking hidden cost.
I think, the seller should consider a buyer to be as intelligent as himself/herself.
It depends on personal taste. I respect my buyers.

if u are a big seller then no there is no problem u can get cheaper rate then eBay Shipping & handling charges
For a small trader like us we cant get this rate so its obv that we wud increase are product price to recovered courier loss.so at the end small businessman sales wud be declining as big seller wud give at attractive price. This is what ebay want basically

You are absolutely correct we are not a big seller who will get these rates for shipping. I think eBay has to think twice before applying this rule.
