It happens quite frequently on ebay and you can do nothing about it. ebay just puts a mark in the buyers profile of non-payment. This usually happens with new buyers.

You end up loosing money (listing fees).

Sometimes I try to give a second chance offer to the next highest bidder. Usually I just have to re-list the item.

You can relist after waiting for 4 days from the bid end date. Also ask your winner whether he want to buy or want to cancel. Accordingly follow it.
