Hi,
I am Kashyap Vadapalli, Director – Marketing & Business Development. I invite you to join me for an Open House discussion on eBay Marketing initiatives.
At eBay, the key task for my team is to ensure that we showcase the Lots of Safe, Easy, Deals available on eBay to our buyers. The objective being to drive visitors, convert visitors into buyers and ensure that an ever increasing part of a buyers overall spending is on eBay. Some of the key initiatives that we have made in this direction are:
We have also planned a very exciting nationwide campaign to increase the awareness about eBay and generate trial. We expect the campaign to go live in 1st week of December. I will like to share a sneak peak of the campaign with you. In addition to the above I will be also available to discuss your suggestions on eBay Marketing.
Please join me on Wednesday, Dec 2nd from 5 PM - 6 PM, on this thread to know more about the latest eBay marketing campaign, and a open discussion on eBay Marketing.
Looking forward to meeting you here!
Thanks and Regards,
Kashyap Vadapalli

Ebay.in has hundreds of registered users, but when it comes to actual completion of sale, the percentage is dismal. i have had to file over 15 Unpaid Item Cases in the past one month in respect of about 25 sales.
secondly as sellers, the paisapay rules with regard to confirmation from buyers needs to be relooked. specially since most buyers do not confirm item receipt and as a result we have to wait for more than 15 days to receieve payments made thru paisapay.
thirdly a verification of new buyers needs to be done. or before bidding the buyers should be able to enter their credit card numbers so that the card is charged on the close of auction. i have one buyer whose name is 'fair boy' he wins an auction for 33000 and then doesnt respond. even buyers with low value bids like 199, 299 dont pay up. this is frustrating since the margins earned are lost in listing fees when the items are relisted

I am in full support of Sunilrj in all his stated facts. I am suffering same situation with myself.
Whatever I am selling 50% is to bidders who are not paying for the items. They have either registered a wrong contact number or no number at all. I do understand it is really difficult getting traffic in any website and same is true for E-Bay, but something like entering mobile number and verifying it can be made must before a buyer places a bid.
Secondly Only 1 out of 3 buyer confirms item receipt. We can have a system in place where a reputed seller immediately gets his money when buyer pays. Its not only the price of the good which we pay in advance it is also the shipping charges. And for a seller in small value items like me ( T-shirt price is about Rs 190 and shipping is 90) shipping is almost half of the amount I have investedin the item.
It will certainly reduce downtime and from my personal experience sellers will be able to list more items once the money keeps coming fast.
Looking forward to the discussion.
Thanks

ebay's marketing efforts are commendable on every front except one.
I feel ebay's tie-up with Corporates is not that strong as other shopping Portals. Hope you throw some light on this and let us know about your marketing efforts on this front.
Also, Do you have any plan to introduce Seller's Discount Coupons which they can offer to their return Customers. .
best regards
Umang Midha

I purchased a mobile phone of sci-phone company (model i68) from Mr Shoeb Merchant (smindia75) through e-bay. The article was mailed on 04. 09. 2009.
In accordance to the recent advertisements in the newspapers, I enquired about the validity of the IMEI numbers of the said phone. I was replied that the numbers were not valid. I went to their centre in my city as per their list but found that the centre has not taken up the job. Now I am at a loss and do not know how I shall use the phone after 30th November.
I do not know many more of the members of e-bay are facing the same problems. If we are deprived of the facility of using our phones by the authorities concerned, we shall surely lose some money but at the same time, the e-bay will lose its credibility as a competent medium that conducts such transactions. I think the people at e-bay should think over the matter seriously and show us a way how we can get out of the mess and avoid the punishment for a crime we have not committed.
Thanking you,
Nabarun Ghoshal
