I am recieving calls from Ms. Ritu in the Ebay top seller Management team. What does this lady think she is. Is she ruling the world or ruling all ebay users???

She just COMMANDED me to remove specs from the Apple computers I am selling. I mean goddammit they are company provided specs with software that some pre-installed with the computer from Apple. I mean do I list a Toshiba Laptop and I cannot list that it comes with Windows installed???

Does ebay want to promote piracy???? YES THEY DO SIR...

ON TOP OF THIS SHE COMMANDS ME TO SEND EMAIL TO EBAY "RIGHT NOW" OTHERWISE I WILL GET IN TROUBLE....

WHAT BULLSHIT.... EBAY TEAM CANNOT COMMAND US. YOU ARE TAKING ENOUGH PROFIT SHARE FROM US ALREADY. WE ARE NOT BOUND TO YOU IN ANYWAY. I AM NOT A SELLER SELLING SOME PIRATED SOFTWARE. I AM SELLING ONLY AUTHORISED APPLE COMPUTERS SINCE I AM AN AUTHORISED APPLE DEALER AND A DEALER FOR OTHER COMPANIES AS WELL.

SINCE THE LAST FEW MONTHS EBAY HAS GONE DOWN IN SERVICE AND THEY SUCK BIGTIME.....

I AM AN HONEST 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK SELLER AND I HAVE NOT SOLD OR LISTED ANYTHING UNAUTHORISED. YOU GUYS CANNOT COMMAND ME AT ALL NOR OTHER SELLERS. I REUEST ALL OTHER SELLERS TO COME FORWARD AGAINST THIS TREATMENT. I WILL ALSO POST THIS BEHAVIOUR IN OTHER FORUMS. I WILL NOT LET GO OFF THIS MATTER EASILY.

We all know that there are many foolish policies of ebay but we must not forget that while registering we accepted the terms & conditions and are bound to abide by those policies.

eBay is committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of third parties and therefore keep on removing those listings which violate those policies.

Just like the statue of JUSTICE has its eyes CLOSED......ebay too has its eyes SHUT.

ebay cannot distinguish beteen right or wrong ..... but goes only by the framed POLICIES.

Hi,

There are similar complains by many about pre-installed software by the Computer manufacturers. Its not software piracy or anything illegal. I think eBay staffs should implement the spirit of their policies rather than going by the wordings. .

Policies are right, one can understand... Talking rude and commanding someone is NOT. They are not giving a free service, they are charging for it. I refuse to be talked to like I am a street hawker. NO SIR !!!!!

i fully agree with u..addie i had listed HP laptops with pre-installed windows OS, itunes, Quickplay and MS works... Ebay Pulled down my listings statin it was protecting Intellectual property rights!!!!

i mailed them saying that i do not load any software and that the laptop is delivered to the end user in the same condition as it is recieved from the manufacturer and that we do not install / remove any software.. but they simply didnt listen, saying that any software that is bundled without a media is pirated!!

however i also notice that ebay doesnt pull down around 1000 listings of different sellers of Sony Ps2 games..who are selling copied games at 99.. whereas the original ones cost 350 and above...

i think next ebay will say that any mobile shipped with Symbian OS / Windows Mobile 2003 also should carry the original installation media!!

one hard fact!

i have quoted this on another listing here...and sicne it makes sense..i feel the need to repeat...

consider this: shipping charges all over India free.
cost of Mobile 19500/- Sellers profit 500/-
on the sale of a mobile for 20,000 we pay ebay - 625...if buyer makes payment thru credit card on paisapay the total charged by paisapay is 3.5% of the value - 700/- so total paid to Ebay is 1325/-

so actually we sellers incur a loss of 825!!!!! unless we resort to unfair practices like High shipping charges or selling of goods for a price much above the MRP...

to make a profit of 500/- we would have to sell the product for 23000/- here..and no buyer would buy it!!!!

1. Was there any clarification given on which part of the Listing has violated a ebay rule.

2. You have mentioned here that you were asked to "mail" ebay --- What was this mail regarding ??

3. Ebay normally dosent call sellers to alert about listing violations. The case was different in old baazee days when they would have called to get things working faster.

4. Did any of your listings got cancelled by the VERO program. Any other warning messages from ebay (by email)?

Answer: Not exactly. I was told to remove any software listed with the computer/laptopn even if it comes factory installed with original discs. This is crazy.

2. You have mentioned here that you were asked to "mail" ebay --- What was this mail regarding ?? I was asked to email ebay about my listings and ask them what was in violation. That I did and got a stupid "computerized" reply telling me about ebay violations and links to ebay pages. Isnt there a personalised ebay system???

Answer: yes I got a call from Ms Ritu and a very very rude and arrogant call. i hate this and people who talk like her

Regarding your Query on seller’s ability to list products with pre-loaded software:

Please note that, you can list products with pre-loaded software, if you are providing all of the original media (disks, manuals, etc.) for the software. I trust, you appreciate the fact that this ensures protection of intellectual property rights of the Right owners (software companies in this case).

I am glad you appreciate the importance of the policies and are not averse to following them.
