I had purchased a perfume from Ebay. On receipt of the item I found that the product was counterfeit. When I claimed a refund, Ebay Guarantee rejected my claim citing that I had "used" the product just because I opened it to check the product. My question is how can you check if the product is authentic or the same as you ordered unless you open it and in case of perfumes and fragrances how can you check unless you smell the product. I did not use any portion of the perfume. All I did was compare the packaging and smell to another original same product which I had purchased out of India. The officials of Ebay Guarantee were in a great hurry to reject my claim and close it and favor the seller. The Ebay Guarantee protection is just a perception and not a reality as I have experienced.
