Unlike the American Ebay, Ebay India lacks dedicated account managers to deal directly with heavy sellers. It is imperative to have a one to one discussions with an account manager in regular course of business on Ebay.
How could Ebay India expect to run the business smoothly with its avid sellers in absence of account managers.
All that is provided is email support which is lax and most of the times the respondents do not read emails completely. I have asked many questions and pointed out many discrepancies in the Ebay India to the support section in past. However every time the response is so amusing that it is hard to believe that such responses are being generated from camp of such a celebrated organization!!
I have been working closly with eBay sellers in USA for a period of time. I am strongly in favor of appointing account managers with whom sellers may speak on phone as and when they wish to.
Also, the PayPal link is missing in the Ebay India. Since PayPal inward remittances can now be routed to India, what harm does it make to link that to the Indian Ebay? I am see a vested interest of Ebay India in not integrating PayPal..!! And even if they integrate PayPal, they should also make sure that sellers may deal with PayPal like a bank to obtain FIRC (Foreign Inward Remittance Certificates) without which one may not think of selling items overseas.
Ebay India has a long way to tap the volcanic market of India - and once Amazon comes its way - they will have hard time persuading their sellers...!!
