EBAY COMMUNITY COURT IS CHEATING CUSTOMERS

The eBay community court is really cheating eBay customers.

The feedback which I left to a seller came before the court yesterday (19th August), and I gave a proper expalnation. The court informed me that:

"The seller has submitted his/her final statements. The case is now closed and has proceeded to the Jury who would start voting on your case soon.

You will be informed of the outcome of this case when the jury has finished voting which would be 10 days from today."

But came another mail after a few hours (not after 10 days: on 20th August early morning) saying:

"The Community Court has decided that the feedback for this transaction should be removed with a majority of 51% of the votes."

That means the case is not proceeded to Jury for voting.

The Seller (i am not disclosing his name) is getting a lot of negative feedbacks, all these negatives are being removed within a day. Now I understand what is the play working behind.

It's a real example of cheating from eBay, not only favouring its sellers but also protecting faulty sellers too.

Concluding, I am very disappointed with this experience from eBay and would like to share my experience to other customers of eBay.

I don't really understand why you people keep on harping for the figure of 51%. It is just ebay way of communicating which way the majority has voted. What difference would it have made to the final outcome if ebay would say that "55% or 72% or 89% voted" for the action.

Here the question is how can they take the decision in a few hours instead of 10 days of voting. Majority of votes (51 or 99%) in that number of hours?

in total, CC (community court) needs 21 votes to decide the fate of a case. majority means minimum 51%, it can be over and above that as well. so lets say. if majority of jury decides against the seller, negative wont be removed and if majority of jury decides in favour of the seller, then the feedback will be removed.

21 votes can happen in 1 hour as well. 10 days is maximum for jury to decide upon the case. buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.

i have explained you the notion behind 51% earlier as well. do not create a fuzz unnecessarily. It's majority, means above 50%. 51% is used as notion for majority. if this makes you any happier. buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.

e.fais - stop listening to all this whack and self proclaimed ebay gurus - I just asked this exact same queston few days ago - why always 51% votes in favor or opposed...( seems like ebay mods are deleting posts? or what? coz i cant find that post all of a sudden)

The answer i got was as soon as 11 are counted - aye or nay - decision is done , no need to wait for more votes. Very smart of ebay so even the loser thinks he lost by just a fraction.

Well I have decided, will not left any feedback with negaitive ICON. Because negaitve feedback remains on eBAY system till the beneficiry reach to the CC. One reach CC negaive feedback fate of feedback is over.

Fine, You helped a lot expaling the eBAY system. Will you suggest me on this Issue:

Surprising, Neither I have received the item nor the refund since 27/07/2010 to till date.

One of My Appeal was attained by eBAY and eBAY observation was Seller is abusing the Trade / Refund process on 04/08/2010 and afterward my Appeals are pending with eBAY unattended.

eBAY seems to helpless to act for buyers as per their buyer protection program.

What's you view?

@ratan,
Check with your bank if the DD has been encashed or not. if not, get the refund from the bank. If it has been encashed, submit the proofs to eBay. An appropriate action will be taken against the seller (by eBay) and your money will be refunded (by eBay).

Writing in forums, is neither gonna have any affect on the seller nor will this give you your money back.

AT LAST: eBay is not helpless, your approach is incorrect. buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.
