DUBIOUS BIDDING

I have bid for 3 items put up by the seller MANLYWATCHES.
I've noticed that I am immediately (in a flash) OUTBID EVERY TIME. AND WONDER OF WONDERS I'VE BEEN OUTBID BEFORE MY BID (conclude from the date and from the time of bid shown in the listing)

It looks like the seller has in place an automatic program to outbid prospective buyers till the price has crossed some minimum value (or maybe till the buyer is fleeced to death)

ISN'T THIS UNETHICAL ? WHY CAN'T EBAY SPECIFY A MINIMUM BID VALUE INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FOOL PEOPLE ?

EBAY WILL LOSE ALL CREDIBILITY IF THIS IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE.

there is no any program or software on ebay to bid automatically or to make out bid ,

your getting this because some of their bidder has already made bid more then u before it self,

for i.e auction starts with re.1 then 1st bidder bid for Rs.1 & 2nd bidder made Rs.26 & he also Bid more that like Rs.50 or 100 that is willing to pay for that item,

then online listing it will show only 2nd high bid of Rs.26 it will now show the high bid that he/she made & even seller also dont know how much is high amount that bidder made & when 3rd bidder make bid for Rs.50 or 100 its say out bid, because 2nd bidder high amount bid then before you & when u again made bid for Rs.101 you will be high bidder why because u bid Rs.1 more then he high bid.

If this is the case then the current highest bid amount should be shown. What is the need to hide this value from view ?
You are wasting the time of other bidders by doing so. One need bid for an item only if it is within one's reach.

Thanks again for the cursory line. What is baffling is that it is CONSISTENTLY HAPPENING WITH THIS SELLER 'MANLYWATCHES'. Once more I've been outbid immediately.
Anybody with an iota of commonsense will conclude that the reason for this is that the seller himself must've placed several bids exploiting the rule that you have quoted in your earlier mail.

By defending this rule the credibility of ebay is taking a beating. There is no point in bidding if the LATEST HIGHEST BID IS NOT SHOWN.

You cannot fool all the people all the time. Soon everyone else will come to understand this game.

i am also member like you on ebay & i am not owner of ebay to explain you what was happening inside or out side ebay,

i have just shared the information which i know personally,

as i know seller cannot bid on their own items if any seller will do this he/she get suspended from ebay,

seller account is not so easy to make as buyer account u know that, after submitting so many & many many time 1 seller account get approved by ebay & all seller of ebay know the value of seller account & they will not do this type of thing's

ebay tracks all activities & IP address user information every time he connected to ebay & if ebay found any seller braking any rules on same time they will suspend all ebay account also their buyer payment also will not be send,


dont just the words what you feel & try to understand ebay rules first on ebay help page then you will com to know how do their work & how they take action against breaking of ebay rules.

on the community forum people well only replay what they know about it up on their knowledge, its just sharing each others knowing thing's

but in your case & your problem only ebay can answer u better please contact ebay only

Thank you for the reply. From your replies I got the impression that you were responding on behalf of ebay.

All that I am trying to say is that THE HIGHEST CURRENT BID IS TO BE DISPLAYED IN AN AUCTION. AND THAT ISN'T THE CASE HERE. WONDER WHY IT ISN'T

Say you want to buy a product and can pay upto rs 1000 for it. The current bid is at 26 Rs. So you place your maximum bid of Rs 1000. But system hides that value from all, even from the seller. So for all, your bid will be shown as 76 or the next high amount. If someone else now bids at 100 Rs, he will be immediately outbid and still you will be highest bidder but your current bid will now be 100 Rs. this thing will continue till 1000 Rs. but if someone bids at 1200 , you will be outbid and the other bidder will become highest bigger at Rs 1200.

This mechanism is good as it helps buyer even win an item for a low value, even if he is ready to pay more for it.

It is possible for people to shill bid (seller bidding on his own items), inspite of stringent eBay tracking procedure. Anyone can go to a cyber cafe, open a new id and start bidding, (May be for his own items listed with some other id).
