With reference to item no. 170447473755 (250GB Seagate External Pocket Hard disk), I did not receive the actual item. I filed a case in dispute resolution center. seller assured me to resolve the case on its own, but the case was not resolved. so i decided to report the case to ebay team. In the meantime, i could not track the case due to some unavoidable circumstances. I decided to report the case to ebay team on 07th June and found to my surprise that case has been closed automatically. Then i came to know that a case will be closed within 90 days automatically. However, same was not mentioned anywhere in eaby help for "What to do when you don't receive your item or it's not as described". Automatically closing of case within 90 days is only mentioned somewhere else in the corner of eaby help center which is not easily accessible and difficult to find out in the first instance.
Further, there should is no provision in eaby software to remind buyer via email before one week of automatically closing the case that your case is not resolved but will be automatically closed within a week.
so the conclusion is ..First, a buyer buys a item at its own risk..then seller refuses to accept the responsibility of any wrong doing....then ebay asks the buyer to file a case and resolve the case with seller itself....ebay do not want to get into it...finally the case is closed automatically without even informing the buyer...so the onus for everything is on the buyer....you pay the money..do not get the bought item ......your money gone... nothing received....
I had been a regular customer on ebay..however the whole episode has turned me off....i do not think i would ever get back to ebay for buying an item.......I have lost my money on ebay as ebay would not own the responsibility after automatically the case...ebay does not even care and have the time to ask the customer to take feed back regarding resolving the issue...

I have never been cheated on eBay as a buyer. Let me quote you a recent incidence of last month:
I purchased a mobile from a seller knowing that the mobile was a Chinese phone. The seller was very professional and courteous and called me to inform about my purchase. I insisted on completing the transaction. The seller shipped the phone. It was excellent phone but then my sister was not happy with the touch screen phone and wanted a button phone. I asked the seller if he could accept it. If he wouldn't have accepted it, I could also have easily sold it, but the seller accepted to replace the phone inspite of mentioning NO RETURNS on the description page. He shipped another phone in 2 days after I shipped the phone back to him.
Except one book that I purchased from a seller, I have always received excellent service from all the sellers on eBay.
I am also a seller on eBay and provide excellent service. Such things as INR and SNAD are imaginary things if the buyer purchases items from good and genuine sellers. Unfortunately, the buyers are lured with offers and then screwed by some bad sellers.

the basically problem of indian buyer is they see just the price
if some new fraud seller are selling at a throw away price they wud attract them and then complaint that ebay cheated us
if a seller is selling stuff at 20% of MRP then wat to buyer expect. Does buyer think company give so good margin to sell
but still buyer wud prefer buying from fraud ppl and then complaint

things to watch out for before buying an item:
one and only one thing: REVIEWS!
those are there to help you, and help they do!
goto the reviews page, and read up on all the negative things, a buyer has done,... and youll know all he can do!
some negative reviews are acceptable such as delay in shipping but anything to do with quality of the product, stay away!
