Dear Users i am here to tell u that the buyer protection claim is only benificial for the buyers and it is a loss for sellers.if a buyer files a claim he is being paid everytime as the claim people always find the claim on buyers behalf
i have paid claim three times after talking to ebay representatives and they said that u will get ur product back after the claim is paid but always it has happen after paying claim of over thirty thousand i have nto got my three mobiles back and if u dont pay the claim then there will be limits on your account as mentioned by the claim people in their correspondence
If a claim is filed the buyer has to pay the total amount of the item as well as 20% to claim people

Does anyone of the seller faced such a issue???
Sellers come forward and sharen your views regarding buyer protection claim

Yes i faced a claim early on ...

had to fight it for 3 months before getting it in my favor (they give sellers 3 / 7 days to respond, however if the buyer doesent respond they give them 7 days / 21 days and on and on)

Had to fax silly documentation over 6 times ....

I feel the claims needs to be handled like baazee style (an Indian executive calling both parties and mediating)... the results will be much better.

Its easy for buyers to make silly claims on email and also sellers to wash their hands in similar fashion over email.

Hope things will improve..

(I haven't faced any of these recently in the last 8 months, so not sure if the process has been improved)

BUYER PROTECTION CLAIM A CHOR POLICY FOR BUYERS

Hello,

I am bit lucky till today not faced such claims but it is true that most of the policies are favouring buyers only, Sellers are not heard many times or it takes too many mails and request to get an attention for most of the issues which are related to buyers.

In the past I had requested ebay many times that there is a strong need for a efficient and prompt seller support system where sellers are given fair judgements. also there is a need for sellers association which can for deal with ebay for matters of common interest which are generally turned in buyers favour.

We the genuine sellers only demand EQUAL & FAIR treatment from all.

Thanks

Hello gadgetsngizmos_in1,

There will be no way to solve this issue ever.
to be very very frank with you please do not be under the wrong impression that ebay will ever give buyer protection claims in your favour, even though you must have delivered the item in a good condition and even after that a fraud buyer opens a claim then that claim will surely go in favour of the buyer.he would then keep your item as well as get a refund and your account would be restricted and/or banned.

Its better to communicate with such buyers and if possible try to block these buyers by adding them to block bidder list. This kind of frauds are very very common and also remember that ebay is a buyers oriented site if you are want to be here on ebay and continue with business you will need to loose some of your hard earned amount to false buyers. If you dont pay Ebay would simply ban you as they do not need any sellers they have got many many if not you. But i guess soon there would be a day when most of the sellers would start vanishing beacause of such claims given in favour of the buyers even if you have good feedbacks, power seller or whatever. If next time such case happens i would suggest do not waste your time sending documents to ebay as it is they just show off to make sellers belive that they do care for them but emotions dont work here boss try contacting the buyer

Summary
Give ebay their profits before buyer purchases an item (almost 10%), you earn less, buyer opens claim item not significantly described you refund the buyer since you do not want any account issues. YOU LOOSE but you stay.

OR

flase buyer opens claims, you keep on wasting your money on documents to be send to ebay ,you get harrased, there is a big-long-short-small drama, you get frustrated since you are not at mistake you dont pay you get BANNED.

It is very risky to list high value items. Ebay stopped giving FVF credit to me.

BUYER PROTECTION CLAIM A CHOR POLICY FOR BUYERS

Hello Ebay Friends,

It is absolutely correct, if nothing goes wrong, Ebay's policy is correct but in case any mishappening, seller only will be looser unjustifiably.

There were Three such occassions when we had to pay several thousands of Rupees, rather I should say, that was deducted forcibly by Paypal from our account and you will be surprised to know the fact. Just explaining one instance:

We sent Gemstones to China. Buyer claimed the item is not as described. Paid through Paypal.Claimed in Paypal for Refund. Buyer send back the parcel to India. The value was US $ 126. Buyer declared the contents wrongly as GARNISH and declared the amount as US $ 16. In Mumbai customs the parcel was stucked and they sent letter to us to visit Customs in Mumbai which is 2500 K.M. from us. Paypal checked the status online that buyer has despatched the item, they refunded the money. We filed several claims on the plea that buyer has given wring declaration as garnish and amount. We never received the parcel back because Agent was asking for Rs 4000/- + Customs duty, whereas parcel was for Rs 6000/- . We lost our money with no fault of us.
Other two cases are similar.
Paypal or Ebay never listened to the facts because they are always upper hand. This is true, we should pray that nothing should happen otherwise seller is at total loss. All policies are buyer oriented.
