Asking for feedback on items purchased/won

This refers to a USB To Serial Connector Interface Adapter purchased on ebay from seller 'brand.deal'. The deal went fine. However one thing that I want to eBay team needs to know is that the seller asked for good feedback in lieu of some gift item even before the sold item was despatched. The text from his email is quoted below.

Please note that if you give us positive ratings and good feedback today
itself, then I will send you one free gift.

So please go ahead and leave a good feedback so that I can send the free

As I understand the feedback is about overall deal and any issues faced during the deal nad can be given only after the deal is complete. Such practice of asking for ealry and good feedback will skew the picture presented by rating based on feedback.
I sugest that adding a check where in the buyer has to mark if the deal is complete (item received in good condition) or post a complaint if any and only then posting feedback should be allowed.

Never give positive feedback before you receive the item and you are satisfied. Otherwise you can't be able to do anything if the seller refuses to send you the item after receiving positive feedback.

Hi,

A seller can ask for good feedback only after delivery of product and buyer can leave a good feedback only if he is satisfied with the product.

My sugession is If you are intrested in buying a product, do ask a question to the seller before comminting to buy. ---------------

You have rightly stated, you should leave positive feedback only after you are completely satisfied by your transaction experience.

The practise of asking for early feedback in exchange of free gift is considered feedback extortion, and is discouraged by eBay. I will encourage you to report the same to eBay, so that the seller can be appropriately educated.
