Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

We are pleased to announce that starting the week of 3rd December 2007 we will be launching several enhancements to PaisaPay. These enhancements are aimed at making transacting on eBay even more safe, fun and providing our buyers with a delightful experience. New PaisaPay will provide a mechanism for the buyers and sellers to complete their PaisaPay transactions with ease and help our sellers increase their business on eBay.

The New PaisaPay flow:

Key Highlights:

1. Providing a delightful buyer experience: Buyers will now be able to use PaisaPay for fast, assured purchases or get their money back! In case the buyer does not receive the item purchased with the prescribed timelines, he will have the option to get a quick refund.

2. Uniform performance guidelines for Sellers: In new PaisaPay the sellers will have fixed timelines within which they need to ship and deliver the item. This will help in providing a standardised seller experience where sellers will have clear performance guidelines. In case a seller needs more time to ship or deliver the product, he can request the buyer for a time extension.

3. Easy tracking of shipments for both Buyers & Sellers: Sellers will be required to enter the shipping details in My PaisaPay within the prescribed timelines. This will give buyers and sellers a quick reference point to know the shipment status thereby resulting in smooth communication between buyers & sellers.

4. Easy Refund Mechanism:

a. In case the seller is not able to ship the item: Seller can easily issue a refund to the buyer by not entering the shipping details within the prescribed timelines. In such cases PaisaPay will automatically issue a refund to the buyer. The sellers no longer need to follow the offline process of contacting PaisaPay Customer Support for issuing refund.

b. In case the buyer does not receive the item: If the buyer has not received the item within the prescribed timelines he has the option to raise a refund claim. In case the seller has delivered the item he will have 5 days to dispute the buyer’s claim. In case of any dispute between the buyer and seller on item delivery, PaisaPay’s decision will be final.

5. Seller Remittance on Buyer Confirmation: PaisaPay shall remit the money to the seller as soon as the buyer confirms item receipt or does not raise a refund claim in the prescribed timelines. Certain Qualified sellers will be eligible for Express Remittance.

6. Express Remittance for Qualified sellers: Sellers who qualify for Express Remittance will have their individual Express Remittance limit. Please note that Express Remittance is a privilege for sellers with strong business and good behaviour history on eBay. The option to offer this privilege to sellers will be at the sole discretion of PaisaPay.

7. Online Remittance to replace Demand Drafts: PaisaPay will remit seller’s money online to his bank account instead of mailing demand drafts. This will save both the courier & encashment time for the sellers. It will also mean no more cases of lost demand drafts.

8. Twice a week remittance cycle: PaisaPay will now be sending money to sellers twice a week (bi-weekly basis) replacing the process of weekly remittance.

9. All new My PaisaPay: The new ‘My PaisaPay’ in “My eBay”, will give buyers & sellers an easier interface to communicate with each other and stay updated on transaction details.

10. PaisaPay Phone Support to be extended to all seven days of the week: PaisaPay phone support will be extended to all seven days of the week (from current five days a week) from the month of December 07.

11. PaisaPay becomes mandatory: All listings will automatically offer PaisaPay as a mode of payment. Sellers can also offer other mode of payments. Sellers with 20 or less listings will be able to offer PaisaPay as the only mode of payment. Read FAQ’s.

12. PaisaPay Invoice: To ease the process of reconciliation and accounting your PaisaPay transactions PaisaPay would be issuing a monthly Invoice to sellers.

13. eBay Buyer Protection remains the same: Buyers will continue to remain eligible for eBay Buyer Protection after time-out period. All other buyer protection features will remain the same. Read FAQ’s.

14. PaisaPay EMI Option: Sellers with 5 or more feedback will have the option to offer 3 and 6 month EMI in their listings, which can be availed by buyers paying via ICICI bank credit cards. Additional PaisaPay charges apply fro EMI transactions. Read FAQ’s

To avail the Enhanced PaisaPay facility from the week of December 3, 2007, all sellers will need to register again with PaisaPay and update their bank details here. We encourage you to update your details as soon as possible on this link. Read FAQ’s.

We understand that you might have questions to understand the changes better. Please feel free to read the FAQ’s, go through the details on this page and on the tutorial, contact our Customer Service team or post your questions on this thread.

We are very excited about these changes as we believe that this will help us in providing a high quality online shopping experience to our users and help in making eBay the favoured destination of online shoppers.

Regards,
The eBay Team

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Hi runalaila_in1,

I think I understand the concern raised by you and I will try to set it in perspective with the following example:
Today if a buyer from interior kelara raises a chargeback dispute against you, what will you do? To contest the chargeback claim and get protection, you will need to provide PaisaPay a valid POD claim.
The same conditions will apply with new PaisaPay also. IF the buyer raises an Item Not received claim, only then will you need to provide a valid POD. This part of the process remains the same for you irrespective of new or existing PaisaPay.

I think the change will comes in the first part, where instead of emailing the courier details to the buyer, you will now be able to feed it in the system and buyers will get automatic notification.

Sapana

Since Now Escrow is being made compulsory and Contact details are allowed, some ideas and suggestions:

Sellers contact details (viz phone number, etc.) should made part of "Meet the Seller"

For e.g. after ask the seller a question.

We should have "Call the Seller"

Infact ebaY owns Skype, we should go one step further.

"Call the seller" option can be "Call the Seller on Skype."

As soon as a user clicks on the Call the Seller option, a call should be placed via skype to the seller's Skype.

Buyer need not have a skype account (this is possible since ebaY owns skype)

Hi Sapana
You equating a chargeback with a very simple 18th day claim seems a highly unpractical approach .
I doubt if any ebay seller can provide POD on 18th day Sending A packet To Interior Kerala in case of dispute.
Anyways I am just placing my doubts with a practical approach of how things run Actually.
Its Easy to Put On paper a set of rules., But a few rules defy practicality Is what i feel .
The most important clarification needed is does a seller gets charged commission on auto refund ??
Anyways Regarding My doubts ... I hope i am wrong and things work good for one and all

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Hi Sapana,

I welcome the New PaisaPay but I have too many confusions now in accepting PaisaPay. Most of my buyers are from outside India. The International delivery time by Registered Airmail takes 15 to 25 days that means I have to wait for nearly a month to receive my payment after the buyer informs that he/she has received the item.

I will now accept PaisaPay only if I qualify for Express Remittance. How do I know that I have been qualified for this process? Shall I have to contact PaisaPay for this? I have already re-registered with PaisaPay giving my all bank details.

Until now I had smooth transactions and received payments with PaisaPay without any hassle. Neither any of my buyer nor PaisaPay had any issue transactions relating.

Let's hope the new system will be better for both buyer and seller. But the seller will remain under pressure until he receives the payment without any hassle.

Regards,

The new paisapay features seems to be good for genuine sellers.
But there is a problem while re-registration.
The details requires three compulsary fields governed by drop down menu- Bank name, City and branch. But the option for city and the branch are very limited. A lot city names are missing from the list hence it is not possible to register. I would like to say that there should be a column as "Other" to define bank name, branch name and city name if the same is missing from the list. Otherwise a lot of sellers like me, may have been facing registration problem.

Hi Sapana,

Thanks for the reply. I have few thoughts to share with the Team and fellow sellers.

This is going to be a big blow for eBay, i am telling this from the experience i gained from eBay in past 2 years. I know the difficulties when shipped item delayed and missed. We work on trust between buyer and seller, that's one of the basic requirement in eBay as founder says. The new PaisaPay rules are violating the objective of the founder's notes. I am really sorry to mention the above because i am helpless now.

The new charge back rules are very well work out if the customers pay us DHL shipping charges which is Rs.650 minimum to deliver any small item from one country to another country. I charge Rs.99 most of the items for an international delivery, with registration. I can challenge even in ebay.com NO sellers can deliver for that much safer delivery with the cheapest shipping charge.

Why not ebay.in join hands with DHL and fix the shipping price for each destination based on weight and ask the customers to pay us what DHL charges ?. You can also pay directly to DHL and ask them them to pickup from our place weekly 3 days ? Would be better for us do business with eBay. Every seller want to ship the item for cheapest and safest to compete with other sellers to make our business success. With the new rules it is impossible to be competitive.

One alternative request i make is please charge 15% as insurance charge from buyer and keep that amount in surplus, in case if item missed you can pay him from the insurance. Is better for the buyer and seller.

Kindly send an unregistered Post card from a small village in Kerala and check how much time it take to reach Baramulla Border in Kashmir or to Sikkim. You understand the difficulties of a seller. We need a time that is practically good for us.

Instead of a seller in eBay I would ranter invest some more money and trade stocks on BSE for the time i spend on eBay, and become a rich, cute and smart buyer in eBay itself.

Kind regards,
CoolBrasCo.

Hello,
First of all I am not happy with the new system.
-Till mow paisa pay cycle ends every Tuesday, being in Delhi I get my cheques Thursday morning , and they are cleared in my bank on Saturday morning, so i get payment made from my buyers within 4 to 11 days MAXIMUM. Now I will have to wait for at least 10 to 15 days to get payments.
-I am selling some items worth Rs99 to Rs 26000/- all items ,specially expensive items, we purchase and pay in advance, to the wholeseller or retails .so we need our buyers payments as fast as possible, but now it will be more delayed, so Now we need more capital to invest in our business.
- What happens if any expensive items is shipped and is delayed in the courier, buyer files a dispute and gets refund, Now if the item is delivered to him by courier so he has item and payment both, or the other scenario he gets the refund and item is brought back to me, so I have to keep it in stock till it sells again , so till then my money gets blocked.
-very rightly said that professional couriers do not provide PODs and if they do they take min of 30 to 45 days. And there are some places where only they can deliver, also in some cases they have taken upto 21 days to deliver
- DTDC also provides PODs but they take min 30 to 45 days, also they do not update the website very frequently
-We do use good courier companies, but reputed companies do not cover all places in India so we have no other option than to use local couriers.
-till now we do not even check paisa pay account , taking it for granted that all payments made by buyer automatically come to our account and then send through check to us, now we will have to keep a track of all payments which have come to our bank accounts and which are being refunded, this means more work and more headache for us.
-Will paisa pay guarantee us that once the payment is in our bank account , there will be no charge backs??
Also if a buyer opens a dispute , and we refund his payment , will the dispute close automatically or we need to run after him to close the dispute, as some buyers know how to open a dispute but don’t know how to close it, and some think there is no need to close it all , they just forget it.
Can anyone from eBay give a comment on it please.
Regards

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Hi!

Many times courier people just take the parcel and donot give the AWB nos on time. I have an account and they take the parcel suppose on Saturday and say that AWB will be sent on Monday.

They forget to bring it on Monday and say kal mil jayega.

So now I have to fight with them and say abhi lake de…. Warna mera paisa atak jayega ya refund ho jayega.

As it is they are not ready to take mobiles anymore. Ab unse aur bhi panga lena hoga.... POD TIME PE DO

Seller ke paas kaam kam tha, usko badane ke liye shukriya.

New paisa pay system will be successful only if sellers are provided with a window to enter tracking number and courier service name . After shipping the item seller can optionally enter the shipping details for the satisfaction and follow up by buyer.
However since in all cases this may not be possible like goods are locally delivered or electronic delivery like ebooks etc. and other reasons when shipping details are not immediately available as being discused by my fellow sellers. Therefor this action should be optional for sellers .
Paisapay should continue to function as earlier and drop this new complicated idea of providing PODs for release of sellers payment .

Paisa pay should take immediate steps and bring the confidence back in community members .
I hope most of the sellers will agree with above idea.
