Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

We are pleased to announce that starting the week of 3rd December 2007 we will be launching several enhancements to PaisaPay. These enhancements are aimed at making transacting on eBay even more safe, fun and providing our buyers with a delightful experience. New PaisaPay will provide a mechanism for the buyers and sellers to complete their PaisaPay transactions with ease and help our sellers increase their business on eBay.

The New PaisaPay flow:

Key Highlights:

1. Providing a delightful buyer experience: Buyers will now be able to use PaisaPay for fast, assured purchases or get their money back! In case the buyer does not receive the item purchased with the prescribed timelines, he will have the option to get a quick refund.

2. Uniform performance guidelines for Sellers: In new PaisaPay the sellers will have fixed timelines within which they need to ship and deliver the item. This will help in providing a standardised seller experience where sellers will have clear performance guidelines. In case a seller needs more time to ship or deliver the product, he can request the buyer for a time extension.

3. Easy tracking of shipments for both Buyers & Sellers: Sellers will be required to enter the shipping details in My PaisaPay within the prescribed timelines. This will give buyers and sellers a quick reference point to know the shipment status thereby resulting in smooth communication between buyers & sellers.

4. Easy Refund Mechanism:

a. In case the seller is not able to ship the item: Seller can easily issue a refund to the buyer by not entering the shipping details within the prescribed timelines. In such cases PaisaPay will automatically issue a refund to the buyer. The sellers no longer need to follow the offline process of contacting PaisaPay Customer Support for issuing refund.

b. In case the buyer does not receive the item: If the buyer has not received the item within the prescribed timelines he has the option to raise a refund claim. In case the seller has delivered the item he will have 5 days to dispute the buyer’s claim. In case of any dispute between the buyer and seller on item delivery, PaisaPay’s decision will be final.

5. Seller Remittance on Buyer Confirmation: PaisaPay shall remit the money to the seller as soon as the buyer confirms item receipt or does not raise a refund claim in the prescribed timelines. Certain Qualified sellers will be eligible for Express Remittance.

6. Express Remittance for Qualified sellers: Sellers who qualify for Express Remittance will have their individual Express Remittance limit. Please note that Express Remittance is a privilege for sellers with strong business and good behaviour history on eBay. The option to offer this privilege to sellers will be at the sole discretion of PaisaPay.

7. Online Remittance to replace Demand Drafts: PaisaPay will remit seller’s money online to his bank account instead of mailing demand drafts. This will save both the courier & encashment time for the sellers. It will also mean no more cases of lost demand drafts.

8. Twice a week remittance cycle: PaisaPay will now be sending money to sellers twice a week (bi-weekly basis) replacing the process of weekly remittance.

9. All new My PaisaPay: The new ‘My PaisaPay’ in “My eBay”, will give buyers & sellers an easier interface to communicate with each other and stay updated on transaction details.

10. PaisaPay Phone Support to be extended to all seven days of the week: PaisaPay phone support will be extended to all seven days of the week (from current five days a week) from the month of December 07.

11. PaisaPay becomes mandatory: All listings will automatically offer PaisaPay as a mode of payment. Sellers can also offer other mode of payments. Sellers with 20 or less listings will be able to offer PaisaPay as the only mode of payment. Read FAQ’s.

12. PaisaPay Invoice: To ease the process of reconciliation and accounting your PaisaPay transactions PaisaPay would be issuing a monthly Invoice to sellers.

13. eBay Buyer Protection remains the same: Buyers will continue to remain eligible for eBay Buyer Protection after time-out period. All other buyer protection features will remain the same. Read FAQ’s.

14. PaisaPay EMI Option: Sellers with 5 or more feedback will have the option to offer 3 and 6 month EMI in their listings, which can be availed by buyers paying via ICICI bank credit cards. Additional PaisaPay charges apply fro EMI transactions. Read FAQ’s

To avail the Enhanced PaisaPay facility from the week of December 3, 2007, all sellers will need to register again with PaisaPay and update their bank details here. We encourage you to update your details as soon as possible on this link. Read FAQ’s.

We understand that you might have questions to understand the changes better. Please feel free to read the FAQ’s, go through the details on this page and on the tutorial, contact our Customer Service team or post your questions on this thread.

We are very excited about these changes as we believe that this will help us in providing a high quality online shopping experience to our users and help in making eBay the favoured destination of online shoppers.

The eBay Team

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Umang,

You seemed to have missed a point in my post no.106 where I mentioned -

"Obviously New Branded Products need not have inspection."

You are working on a number of ecommerce sites and are well aware that most have a "15 days Money Back Guarantee."

If you read the terms of this money back guarantee you will see that all buyer gets is 2-3 days to inspect the product.

With the New Paisa Pay (semi Escrow), ebaY has countered the offensive of other sites which promise -

Guaranteed Delivery in 15 days.

What I am suggesting is only countering this by saying.

You do not have to pay if you do not like the product. Simply return it and get your money from ebaY!

This is nothing different from Money Back Guarantee of other sites.

And this is the concept of Escrow worldwide, buyer inspects the product before accepting it. Seller gets paid by the Escrow company only if buyer accepts it, other wise buyer has to return the product to the sellers satisfaction to get his money back.

As regarding offline stores, there buyers get a touch and feel of the product and yes, most stores also offer a "Money Back Guarantee" except for branded CE products and products of intimate use.

As and when consumer laws are tightened in this country offering a Money Back Guarantee will become a legal necessity, at least for all online purchases. You may have read in last two days newspapers about stricter consumer laws being discussed.

In any business you have to hard working and dedicated to succeed. Being part time seller does not excuse one from the above requirements.

What I am suggesting is just an idea, the time of which may not be now, but it is being implemented in ebay nevertheless.

Today we have to go through disputed and negatives and threats before having to refund buyer and accept returns even 89 days after receipt. I am just closing that window to 2-3 days instead of 89 at present.

Buyer can open a snad dispute / post a negative anytime upto 90 days after placing order. Most of my buyers living in metros receive their product within 24 - 48 hours. So a buyer gets upto 89 days to claim snad / leave a negative and get his money back. This does not happen anywhere else, online or offline.

Sapana,

Scanned and Fax are soft copies and not hard as you keep often repeating. Anything electronic is soft and anything physical is hard.

Can any one confirm if they received confirmation of Successful KYC Verification from PaisaPay?

---------------
Hi Devesh,

I believe it is being referred to as HARD Copy to indicate that the proof of shipment is the one available with the Shipper as hard copy and no electronic record or receipt.

When provided to eBay it can be again any mode Scanned/Faxed i.e. Soft Copy Being sent (for the hard copy available with the seller)

Hey Sapanaji.

Since my bank branch is not added,i cant sell beyond 28th november. It is because from 3rd dec on monday, the new paisapay will be implemented. So what ever transaction goes through before 3rd gets electronically transferred.

Could you kindly confirm if the paisapay transactions before 3rd of dec would be sent via cheque or electronic transfer. If the electronic transfer was scheduled to take place of 5th of dec, that is on a wednesday there would be little confusion and frustration for those who are not able to register for the new paisaapy feature.

Hi techniwas,

As of now the PaisaPay team is focussing on doing KYC. If a seller has sent his KYC documents, They are marking as KYC complete at the backend. If there is a mistake in the document or if the seller needs to send more documents they will contact the seller.

If a seller has sent his documents, he can contact Live Chat to know the status.

Once the new systems come in place, the sellers who send their KYC documents will receive an automated mail once KYC is complete.

Please feel free to write back with more questions if any.

Sapana

Hi cochinmall,

we are trying to make the updated list available to the sellers much before the actual changes go live. Also, it will take you about 2 minutes to register for new PaisaPay. So you will not miss out on any payments.

The payments that are received by you under old PaisaPay will be sent to you via cheque. For payments received by you under new PaisaPay will be sent to you via online bank transfer. For more migration related questions, you can also refer to the following FAQs http://pages.ebay.in/paisapay/pspx_faqs.html#e1

Do not hesitate to write back for more clarificaitons if required.

Dear Sapanaji,
We are yet to receive reply or solution from Ebay towards my post
19-11-07 19:59 IST 161 of 186

Let me clarify, if Ebay takes decisions whimsically without considering Indian Scenario --means -- still online tracking is not available by all, delivery is not efficient specially overseas and specially small items.

It is certain, if you donot take justified solutions, all good sellers with high volume listings will wipe out. Only Kabada items are to be listed and gradually no volume and a vicious circle will be created.

Think on this practical raised in my previous post and find out a solution.

Dear Sapanaji.

Thank you for clarifying the doubt. As per what you have told, I went through the list of banks provided in the rbi documents. I found that there are ambigious situations as the same branches are written here and there without any sense.

When i found my branch, it was written as the city names branch which actually is wrong. So the following details provided below is the name as per the document provided by rbi.

Actual branch name is broadway, but the branch name written is ernakulam which is wrong. Some of the branches are listed as per their address. So the address of my branch is as follows :
State Bank Of India
PB NO 2524,
Ekm Broadway, pin code 682031

The address above is correct, though the pin code is not verified. In this pin code there are totally four state bank of india branches. Kindly check for the bank branch in the rbi excel sheet provided by rbi.

Awaiting a reply soon to hear if the branch would be added as per priority since i am not able to contact live chat due to some connection errors from my side.
And please do something about the chinese typhoon as its a real headache. 🙂

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Dear Sapana ji,
Please kindly reply to my Post.

I am selling mainly gemstones in eBay from many years(from the time of Baazee.com) and not many courier accept gemstones and even if very few accept gemstones they do not have online tracking facility and POD from the courier are receive only after 30-45 days.

If eBay can tell me any such reputed courier who accept gemstones/jewelry and also can provide insurance for such high value items with prompt online tracking facility then I will be very thankful to eBay. Since you suggest to use reputed courier to send items, So that it may result into delightful buyer experience, You must also provide the solution of shipping the high value items like gemstones and jewelry.

Please note that sometime the parcels are delivered within 10 days but the POD are not available before 30-45 days and in some case the courier company are not able to provide POD, even if the buyer get the item.

Speed post is reliable and accepts gemstones and jewelry but it doesn’t provide perfect tracking details, Most of the parcel is just shown as booked but then no further information is provided their tracking website. Also the acknowledgment does not reach us half of the time even if we pay additional for it. But since no other courier (even the most reputed and expensive one) do not accept gemstones/jewelry, we are left with no option but to use Speed Post.

But when this new paisapay will come into force, some fraud buyer can take an advantage of such loop holes and claim their money back(even if he/she received the item).
The buyer then can enjoy with item as well as the money and seller will be helpless.
So, I am really not in position to take such a big risk.

Sapana ji I hope you reply my post at the earliest.

Best Regards,
Deep Agarwal.
