Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

We are pleased to announce that starting the week of 3rd December 2007 we will be launching several enhancements to PaisaPay. These enhancements are aimed at making transacting on eBay even more safe, fun and providing our buyers with a delightful experience. New PaisaPay will provide a mechanism for the buyers and sellers to complete their PaisaPay transactions with ease and help our sellers increase their business on eBay.

The New PaisaPay flow:

Key Highlights:

1. Providing a delightful buyer experience: Buyers will now be able to use PaisaPay for fast, assured purchases or get their money back! In case the buyer does not receive the item purchased with the prescribed timelines, he will have the option to get a quick refund.

2. Uniform performance guidelines for Sellers: In new PaisaPay the sellers will have fixed timelines within which they need to ship and deliver the item. This will help in providing a standardised seller experience where sellers will have clear performance guidelines. In case a seller needs more time to ship or deliver the product, he can request the buyer for a time extension.

3. Easy tracking of shipments for both Buyers & Sellers: Sellers will be required to enter the shipping details in My PaisaPay within the prescribed timelines. This will give buyers and sellers a quick reference point to know the shipment status thereby resulting in smooth communication between buyers & sellers.

4. Easy Refund Mechanism:

a. In case the seller is not able to ship the item: Seller can easily issue a refund to the buyer by not entering the shipping details within the prescribed timelines. In such cases PaisaPay will automatically issue a refund to the buyer. The sellers no longer need to follow the offline process of contacting PaisaPay Customer Support for issuing refund.

b. In case the buyer does not receive the item: If the buyer has not received the item within the prescribed timelines he has the option to raise a refund claim. In case the seller has delivered the item he will have 5 days to dispute the buyer’s claim. In case of any dispute between the buyer and seller on item delivery, PaisaPay’s decision will be final.

5. Seller Remittance on Buyer Confirmation: PaisaPay shall remit the money to the seller as soon as the buyer confirms item receipt or does not raise a refund claim in the prescribed timelines. Certain Qualified sellers will be eligible for Express Remittance.

6. Express Remittance for Qualified sellers: Sellers who qualify for Express Remittance will have their individual Express Remittance limit. Please note that Express Remittance is a privilege for sellers with strong business and good behaviour history on eBay. The option to offer this privilege to sellers will be at the sole discretion of PaisaPay.

7. Online Remittance to replace Demand Drafts: PaisaPay will remit seller’s money online to his bank account instead of mailing demand drafts. This will save both the courier & encashment time for the sellers. It will also mean no more cases of lost demand drafts.

8. Twice a week remittance cycle: PaisaPay will now be sending money to sellers twice a week (bi-weekly basis) replacing the process of weekly remittance.

9. All new My PaisaPay: The new ‘My PaisaPay’ in “My eBay”, will give buyers & sellers an easier interface to communicate with each other and stay updated on transaction details.

10. PaisaPay Phone Support to be extended to all seven days of the week: PaisaPay phone support will be extended to all seven days of the week (from current five days a week) from the month of December 07.

11. PaisaPay becomes mandatory: All listings will automatically offer PaisaPay as a mode of payment. Sellers can also offer other mode of payments. Sellers with 20 or less listings will be able to offer PaisaPay as the only mode of payment. Read FAQ’s.

12. PaisaPay Invoice: To ease the process of reconciliation and accounting your PaisaPay transactions PaisaPay would be issuing a monthly Invoice to sellers.

13. eBay Buyer Protection remains the same: Buyers will continue to remain eligible for eBay Buyer Protection after time-out period. All other buyer protection features will remain the same. Read FAQ’s.

14. PaisaPay EMI Option: Sellers with 5 or more feedback will have the option to offer 3 and 6 month EMI in their listings, which can be availed by buyers paying via ICICI bank credit cards. Additional PaisaPay charges apply fro EMI transactions. Read FAQ’s

To avail the Enhanced PaisaPay facility from the week of December 3, 2007, all sellers will need to register again with PaisaPay and update their bank details here. We encourage you to update your details as soon as possible on this link. Read FAQ’s.

We understand that you might have questions to understand the changes better. Please feel free to read the FAQ’s, go through the details on this page and on the tutorial, contact our Customer Service team or post your questions on this thread.

We are very excited about these changes as we believe that this will help us in providing a high quality online shopping experience to our users and help in making eBay the favoured destination of online shoppers.

Regards,
The eBay Team

Well Well

The latest post by sapana brings a sigh of relief.

There is a huge shift in the latest post by sapana
from what we were made to understand previously.

Things do not look gloomy no more now

Thanks sapana for clarifying transparently on this very important topic .
I dont think Being able to provide Hard copy of Airway Bill for an online trackable shipment
should be a problem for any serious seller

Sapna,

You have again not clarified what do you mean by:

"Hard copy of Proof of Shipment for a online track able shipment"

Do sellers have to send you a Attested Copy of the POS by courier?

or a Scanned Copy sent via Mail (soft copy) of POS is ok?

Hi indconcepts,

To clarify on your question:

"So if the PaisaPay confirmation is on 1st Jan at 23:59.
The Seller checks this Order on 2nd Jan at 23:59.
Then effectively he has 5 days to enter the shipping details ... ie. .... upto 7th Jan till 23:59. Am I right ?"

Like I clarified in an earlier post, the timeline will start excluding the day of the event (payment confirmation in this case)

If PaisaPay confirms on 1st Jan 23:59 and you check the order on 2nd jan 23:59, then you will have upto 8th jan 23:59 to input shipping details in the system.

I hope this gives more clarity. Please feel free to write back for any clarificaiton.

Sapana

Thank you for the reply,Sapanaji.

I can agree with you that there are a lot of branches provided in the rbi list. And most of them have spelling mistakes too.But when an MICR code is asked, why should there be a problem in the transfer of cash to the branch?

The branch could have being left blank and filled in by the seller,so that the paisapay team can just verify it,rather than paisapay team verifying a huge list of bank branches.

Well,I have clearly given my bank and branch name.On this very same street, there are totally three branches of the same bank(SBI).I think there the confusion has come in.
But there are called in as different branch names, ulikely to be named on the basis of a street name branch.

Thanks Sapana for the clarification.

That's a much better example.

It seems ebay Team is working day in and day out .... to fine tune the New PaisaPay.

Excluding the Day of the PaisaPay Payment confirmation .... seems to be an after thought ..... 🙂

Giving Seller a clear cut 7 days would definitely be quite helpful.

Hello Devesh,

I don't know why your question has been missed out twice.

By "Hard Copy of Proof of Shipment (POS)" ..... am sure it's the Scanned Copy of the POS which is to be emailed.

It can neither be the Hard Copy nor the Attested Copy sent through Courier ..... jab tak Courier pahonche ga .... AUTO REFUND ho jayega. .

Hi indconcepts,

I wish we could make product changes so fast to accomodate an after thought 🙂

It was more of a communication issue and I am glad it is clear now.

Umang,

Sapana has made it a point to ignore me even though I am one of the very few sellers who are coming in support of the New PaisaPay

-------

Devesh

BTW - this is off the thread, but I have also suggested Full Escrow and doing away with SNAD too.

Most of my customers complain are due to buyer remorse. After receiving the product, they feel it is not what they had thought. So in the sense seller is being held responsible for fancifull thoughts of buyers.

Most sellers like me would be willing to give buyer 2-3 days for inspection of goods and confirm that they are indeed what was offered or to the buyer liking. Pay the seller only if buyer accepts the goods not just receives the goods.

I sell a product continously for over 2 years and suddenly a buyer wakes up in the morning and fees I do not like the product, damn the seller and gives a negative. In the current scenario, ebay will restrict my selling id and if two buyer feel the same way will even suspend me. Forget the 20,000 satisfied buyer I have had over 5 years.

Hello Sapana,

We all hope that many other issues in the New PaisaPay are also communication issues .... 🙂

Jokes apart.

But ... just for my knowlegde .... if there is some folly incorporated in the product (By product we mean the ebay Feature) ..... then would you keep the product running for 3-6 months ..... just because changes can't be accomodated so fast.

Don't mind it .... but if the requirement is there .... your Software Engineers will have to incorporate those, at short notices.

**************************

Devesh,

No doubt that you are one of the few Sellers ..... who are supporting New PaisaPay.

In times to come .... hopefully .... many will enjoy New PaisaPay.
I am saying this because New PaisaPay won't be everybody's cup of Tea. Only full time hard working & dedicated Sellers would be able to digest it.

You suggestion of ......
Pay the seller only if buyer accepts the goods not just receives the goods.
...... is not at all acceptable.

Does any Physical Store allow you to use the product for 2-3 days and then pay for it.

No Branded Item can be offered on this term.

Everybody's line of products is different and cannot be forced to be offered on trial basis. .

Hi cochinmall,

As I had mentioned before, MICR code is a double check to ensure that the bank account details are accurate. I understand that some sellers will have difficulties, however, we are placing all these double checks to ensure that once sellers start receiving the PaisaPay money, it is fast and hassle free.

Will request support and cooperation of all sellers for the same.

Hi cameras_n_such,

As indconcept mentioned, hard copy here indicates a scanned copy or a fax of the physical copy. You do not need to attest the documents.

Also, Thanks a lot for your support and understanding for new PaisaPay. It does make a lot of difference to all the employees working on the project here.

Regards,
Sapana

P.S: I have no reason whatsoever to ignore you. It is just that at times it takes me more time to confirm my replies to avoid miscommunicaiton 🙂
