Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

We are pleased to announce that starting the week of 3rd December 2007 we will be launching several enhancements to PaisaPay. These enhancements are aimed at making transacting on eBay even more safe, fun and providing our buyers with a delightful experience. New PaisaPay will provide a mechanism for the buyers and sellers to complete their PaisaPay transactions with ease and help our sellers increase their business on eBay.

The New PaisaPay flow:

Key Highlights:

1. Providing a delightful buyer experience: Buyers will now be able to use PaisaPay for fast, assured purchases or get their money back! In case the buyer does not receive the item purchased with the prescribed timelines, he will have the option to get a quick refund.

2. Uniform performance guidelines for Sellers: In new PaisaPay the sellers will have fixed timelines within which they need to ship and deliver the item. This will help in providing a standardised seller experience where sellers will have clear performance guidelines. In case a seller needs more time to ship or deliver the product, he can request the buyer for a time extension.

3. Easy tracking of shipments for both Buyers & Sellers: Sellers will be required to enter the shipping details in My PaisaPay within the prescribed timelines. This will give buyers and sellers a quick reference point to know the shipment status thereby resulting in smooth communication between buyers & sellers.

4. Easy Refund Mechanism:

a. In case the seller is not able to ship the item: Seller can easily issue a refund to the buyer by not entering the shipping details within the prescribed timelines. In such cases PaisaPay will automatically issue a refund to the buyer. The sellers no longer need to follow the offline process of contacting PaisaPay Customer Support for issuing refund.

b. In case the buyer does not receive the item: If the buyer has not received the item within the prescribed timelines he has the option to raise a refund claim. In case the seller has delivered the item he will have 5 days to dispute the buyer’s claim. In case of any dispute between the buyer and seller on item delivery, PaisaPay’s decision will be final.

5. Seller Remittance on Buyer Confirmation: PaisaPay shall remit the money to the seller as soon as the buyer confirms item receipt or does not raise a refund claim in the prescribed timelines. Certain Qualified sellers will be eligible for Express Remittance.

6. Express Remittance for Qualified sellers: Sellers who qualify for Express Remittance will have their individual Express Remittance limit. Please note that Express Remittance is a privilege for sellers with strong business and good behaviour history on eBay. The option to offer this privilege to sellers will be at the sole discretion of PaisaPay.

7. Online Remittance to replace Demand Drafts: PaisaPay will remit seller’s money online to his bank account instead of mailing demand drafts. This will save both the courier & encashment time for the sellers. It will also mean no more cases of lost demand drafts.

8. Twice a week remittance cycle: PaisaPay will now be sending money to sellers twice a week (bi-weekly basis) replacing the process of weekly remittance.

9. All new My PaisaPay: The new ‘My PaisaPay’ in “My eBay”, will give buyers & sellers an easier interface to communicate with each other and stay updated on transaction details.

10. PaisaPay Phone Support to be extended to all seven days of the week: PaisaPay phone support will be extended to all seven days of the week (from current five days a week) from the month of December 07.

11. PaisaPay becomes mandatory: All listings will automatically offer PaisaPay as a mode of payment. Sellers can also offer other mode of payments. Sellers with 20 or less listings will be able to offer PaisaPay as the only mode of payment. Read FAQ’s.

12. PaisaPay Invoice: To ease the process of reconciliation and accounting your PaisaPay transactions PaisaPay would be issuing a monthly Invoice to sellers.

13. eBay Buyer Protection remains the same: Buyers will continue to remain eligible for eBay Buyer Protection after time-out period. All other buyer protection features will remain the same. Read FAQ’s.

14. PaisaPay EMI Option: Sellers with 5 or more feedback will have the option to offer 3 and 6 month EMI in their listings, which can be availed by buyers paying via ICICI bank credit cards. Additional PaisaPay charges apply fro EMI transactions. Read FAQ’s

To avail the Enhanced PaisaPay facility from the week of December 3, 2007, all sellers will need to register again with PaisaPay and update their bank details here. We encourage you to update your details as soon as possible on this link. Read FAQ’s.

We understand that you might have questions to understand the changes better. Please feel free to read the FAQ’s, go through the details on this page and on the tutorial, contact our Customer Service team or post your questions on this thread.

We are very excited about these changes as we believe that this will help us in providing a high quality online shopping experience to our users and help in making eBay the favoured destination of online shoppers.

Regards,
The eBay Team

First thing ebay India should know that new Paisapay system is going to wipe out small sellers and specially will discourage new sellers to join the community .

ebay India should run this system as optional feature only which can be adopted by only willing sellers . If the system is succesful sellers will automatically adopt for its advantages . It is surprising ebay India has taken such a big step without taking seller community into confidence.

only good thing being done is the funds transfer to bank account however that also at an increased paisapay fee.
In fact since the business volume at ebay India has increased we were expecting more competeive services and discounts for sellers which could have been ultimately passed to buyers . These excess charges are ultimately going to be paid by byers.
New system is not friendly to anybody ,neither seller nor buyers and ultimately eBay will also be a looser .

PRACTICAL HUDLE NUMBER : 1
Certain areas in interior kerala is not serviced by any courier except
Professional courier
By The Way They Are Also The Costliest
Now here the professional guys not willing to give POD's ,
Neither are they agreeing that they write in eligible writing
Dadagiri hai .. but hai !!
okay still their service is good .. so no problem uptill now ...and anyways there is no more option.
Now if such rules like compulsory POD's etc are introduced
without taking into consideration practical hurdles like i have ,
simultaneous facility should be provided to block buyers from nonserviceable area.
There is no choice now except to refund the buyer ...
in which case paisa pay commission goes twice and also a negative looms large on your head

Since most of us have buyers from abroad , I am struggling to understand ...

1. What will the buyer experience in Spain and Germany or France?

2. Where will they see their 'My Paisapay'( probably as part of their 'my ebay') ?

3. Will the site be translated for them as rest of their ebay experience?

4.What if they don't confirm receipt of item ? Which they will if it is not part of their job . They bid, they paid, they got stuff and why bother to confirm ?

Actually an opportunity for shrewd buyers to clearly say no and get a refund. ;). Everybody knows who Paisapay guys will trust more and whom to blame ! Will ebay call them up in spanish/Duestch/French and get this sorted for us ?

Looks like I have stop asking for PaisaPay completely more because now Paypal does have a pretty smooth Indian experience.

Think Global, honey !

"PaisaPay will prefer to receive physical copies of proof of delivery and dispatch. "

1. Who pays for the postage ?
2. Will you accept scanned copies ? I am providing tracking number so no issues . Confirm them online.
3. Waht about faxing the same ?

If you are sent a tracking number, go and verify that. Why do you want us to send the physical copies . Will you return them when I need them again for closing disputes with the courier/indian post.

I am started to think as this whole thing is good idea but extremely poorly planned. A few graphics and a basic FAQ is not what you can get away with .

Clearly a poor show !

I did not liked the change reagarding giving online tracking info and delivering items within 10 days.. oh god !!
How do i do this ?
What if a item is sent using registered post method that is opted by many happy buyers from international countries.
It take normally 15 -20days to deliver to most of the countries by postal method no tracking is avialable.
If we use speed post service for Countries like mexico / brazil it takes upto 25 -30 days for delivery with no tracking information and how we are protected now ?
Can you please tell me how is it useful for sellers selling to international countries ?
I don't see any way for us, i cannot send any parcel without insurance facility and it takes sometimes a week time to custum clear because of high value declaration for insured parcels and then it takes 7 - 10 days more for delivery.

This is not acceptable.

Rest of the changes were very much needed and are awesome but the issue of giving tracking info within limited time for internatioinal parcels is wrong and i request to please look into this matter again and if possible change the policies for international shipments! Please paisapay team,

Look once again and do the needful changes JUST FOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS.
for india its PERFECT and very much needed.
you can contact post office for further informations once a parcel is booked and custum stuck in india there is no update on the post office website till it is custum cleared and it almost takes upto 7 days time for us to get it cleared from custums.
Now if i fail to give tracking information before 10 days the refund will get automatically sent.. how will i do my business in this way.
Also post office site does not tracks international parcels for many countries like germany, brazil, mexico, uk.
Registered post is another method of safe and cheap delivery that does not have any tracking available.
Please do the needful for us.

Thank you so much for making the site more safer for all of us !!

I will wait for a kind response from your team in this matter that really needs ATTENTION. "Lord, I have done many things wrong. I am guilty, but to show your goodness, forgive me for everything I did. When people choose to follow the Lord, he shows them the best way to live.”

Now quite a few orders , i will know beforehand that they will end up in a refund later on
so i'll just let those orders go wasted ... no problem in that too
But will i be charged paisa pay commission when a refund is given to the buyer ??

Hi All,

The new PaisaPay is good, Some features like EMI are good But there are lot of issues.

1. Few sellers sell E-Books, how to provide shipment details when the shipment is through Digital Delivery (Email).

2. If the product sent (though if we give shipment details) get lost or couldn’t gets delivered, Does this makes the payment refunded to buyer blindly?

3. Also if the product needs to get replacement, then the buyer obliviously says the product has been delivered but needs for replacement.

4. What if the buyer makes advantage of this and says not delivered though the product is been delivered?

Compulsory POD's will be a big disadvantage. See, Last month I was in Chennai (almost 3 weeks). I instructed my assistant to dispatch all the products. It will be difficult if this rule gets applied.

For non-serviceable areas, I use Postal Services and send through Registered Post / Parcel. It can't be tracked online as it will be like RPA 220, No POD will be given. The acknowledge which we attach comes very late.

I am feeling that the sellers are the total BAKARA. All the fee are charged on sellers and facilities to Buyers.

What if you miss to give the shipment details, You loose the payment as well as the product (like the Nigeria Buyers). ---------------
