Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

We are pleased to announce that starting the week of 3rd December 2007 we will be launching several enhancements to PaisaPay. These enhancements are aimed at making transacting on eBay even more safe, fun and providing our buyers with a delightful experience. New PaisaPay will provide a mechanism for the buyers and sellers to complete their PaisaPay transactions with ease and help our sellers increase their business on eBay.

The New PaisaPay flow:

Key Highlights:

1. Providing a delightful buyer experience: Buyers will now be able to use PaisaPay for fast, assured purchases or get their money back! In case the buyer does not receive the item purchased with the prescribed timelines, he will have the option to get a quick refund.

2. Uniform performance guidelines for Sellers: In new PaisaPay the sellers will have fixed timelines within which they need to ship and deliver the item. This will help in providing a standardised seller experience where sellers will have clear performance guidelines. In case a seller needs more time to ship or deliver the product, he can request the buyer for a time extension.

3. Easy tracking of shipments for both Buyers & Sellers: Sellers will be required to enter the shipping details in My PaisaPay within the prescribed timelines. This will give buyers and sellers a quick reference point to know the shipment status thereby resulting in smooth communication between buyers & sellers.

4. Easy Refund Mechanism:

a. In case the seller is not able to ship the item: Seller can easily issue a refund to the buyer by not entering the shipping details within the prescribed timelines. In such cases PaisaPay will automatically issue a refund to the buyer. The sellers no longer need to follow the offline process of contacting PaisaPay Customer Support for issuing refund.

b. In case the buyer does not receive the item: If the buyer has not received the item within the prescribed timelines he has the option to raise a refund claim. In case the seller has delivered the item he will have 5 days to dispute the buyer’s claim. In case of any dispute between the buyer and seller on item delivery, PaisaPay’s decision will be final.

5. Seller Remittance on Buyer Confirmation: PaisaPay shall remit the money to the seller as soon as the buyer confirms item receipt or does not raise a refund claim in the prescribed timelines. Certain Qualified sellers will be eligible for Express Remittance.

6. Express Remittance for Qualified sellers: Sellers who qualify for Express Remittance will have their individual Express Remittance limit. Please note that Express Remittance is a privilege for sellers with strong business and good behaviour history on eBay. The option to offer this privilege to sellers will be at the sole discretion of PaisaPay.

7. Online Remittance to replace Demand Drafts: PaisaPay will remit seller’s money online to his bank account instead of mailing demand drafts. This will save both the courier & encashment time for the sellers. It will also mean no more cases of lost demand drafts.

8. Twice a week remittance cycle: PaisaPay will now be sending money to sellers twice a week (bi-weekly basis) replacing the process of weekly remittance.

9. All new My PaisaPay: The new ‘My PaisaPay’ in “My eBay”, will give buyers & sellers an easier interface to communicate with each other and stay updated on transaction details.

10. PaisaPay Phone Support to be extended to all seven days of the week: PaisaPay phone support will be extended to all seven days of the week (from current five days a week) from the month of December 07.

11. PaisaPay becomes mandatory: All listings will automatically offer PaisaPay as a mode of payment. Sellers can also offer other mode of payments. Sellers with 20 or less listings will be able to offer PaisaPay as the only mode of payment. Read FAQ’s.

12. PaisaPay Invoice: To ease the process of reconciliation and accounting your PaisaPay transactions PaisaPay would be issuing a monthly Invoice to sellers.

13. eBay Buyer Protection remains the same: Buyers will continue to remain eligible for eBay Buyer Protection after time-out period. All other buyer protection features will remain the same. Read FAQ’s.

14. PaisaPay EMI Option: Sellers with 5 or more feedback will have the option to offer 3 and 6 month EMI in their listings, which can be availed by buyers paying via ICICI bank credit cards. Additional PaisaPay charges apply fro EMI transactions. Read FAQ’s

To avail the Enhanced PaisaPay facility from the week of December 3, 2007, all sellers will need to register again with PaisaPay and update their bank details here. We encourage you to update your details as soon as possible on this link. Read FAQ’s.

We understand that you might have questions to understand the changes better. Please feel free to read the FAQ’s, go through the details on this page and on the tutorial, contact our Customer Service team or post your questions on this thread.

We are very excited about these changes as we believe that this will help us in providing a high quality online shopping experience to our users and help in making eBay the favoured destination of online shoppers.

Regards,
The eBay Team

Why don't Ebay tie up with some courier who will commit all that new Paisapay forcing on us and make it a rule.

I am so amazed by Ebay's behavior in a largest Democratic country. Should it be least to expect a poll or survey before puting it as a rule.

I think ebay.in should be moved to our neighbourig country soon.

Dear Sapana,

Could you answer me this one:

Have ebay sent a letter or say Diwali Greeting to all its members (located to all possible regions from metro's to villages) from metro city like Mumbai, and track movement, analyse cost and then with that data decide on deadlines for each phase.

If your homework is not done then why you marketing something which is not known to be workable model.

If you have some data to back up the deadlines, as sellers and buyers of ebay, its our most basic right to know every detail of such data and study.

In any event, I am very sure that you do not have any such study performed neither you have experienced any part of it.

Could you answer it clearly in detail....THANKS

I completely agree with Ashok Agarwal (sitare_jewels) for the facts that he has mentioned. Me too is selling jewellery internationally and will be facing the same problems with New PaisaPay. But eBay will just implement the new system theoretically and will not see the delivery issues practically.

Proof of Dispatch / Providing Airway Bill Number
I am not sure I am able to understand the concerns regarding providing dispatch details. Whenever you courier anything, the courier company always provides you with an airway bill number which also serves as a tracking number.

In reply to that, Sapana please take the pain of walking in to any local post office. Book a parcel by Registered AirMail, can be national or international, that is your call. Indiapost will give you an airway bill number.

After 48 hrs or even after delivery is made, go online and enter the Airway bill number on the Indiapost online tracking site. Does tracking appear? NO

Hence, a buyer pays by PaisaPay and we have to enter an airway bill number which we enter but that has no tracking! So buyer messages back parcel not trackable, may think its a fraud or we have to spend time explaining.

Okay for small sellers but big sellers with a lot of dispatches?

Above, what has been mentioned is a practical example which eBay can actually try out and see for themselves.

Hence your "know all" reply is baseless and worthless.

We therefore request you to reply and state what is to be done when we dispatch a parcel which does not have any sort of tracking. How are we to fill in the details?

Hey one and all.

None of the pinks have answers to the queries of Intl. Shipping. No wonder why they dont have answers when a big revamped feature is being introduced on a big site like ebay.in.Actually,everyone knows that according to "opinion of buyers" as claimed by ebay.in,paisapay is being revamped. And getting a few "facts" from here and there(ABOUT S&H) too, paisapay is going to launch.

BUT WHERE IS MY BRANCH IN THE LIST OF PAISAPAY LIST OF BRANCHES?? I HAVE BEING REMINDING YOUR TEAM TO ADD MY BRANCH,BUT NO REPLY UPTIL NOW.I WONT BE CHANGING MY BANK BRANCH JUST TO GO AHEAD WITH PAISAPAY!!! IT IS A LAME EXCUSE THAT THE BRANCH IS NOT ADDED EVEN THOUGH MOST OF THE BRANCHES ARE NEFT ENABLED!!

Well,Everything goes by "facts" over here.Especially the case of S&H.Previously,ebay.in had mentioned that POD's were easy to obtain, but i guess they have reversed the stand now. 🙂

Before anything has to get into place, especially online transaction,i think there should be a pilot or a test phase before implementing it.The outcome of this can decide if the new paisapay is practical. If you had taken the opinion of buyers, then i guess ebay should have taken opinion from sellers too.

Facts cannot lead to hasty decisions which may not seem practical. If it is like that,India is one of the countries having highest HIV patients.Taking this data,i cant start selling condoms in a haste right away.I have to check out if it is practical and competant in the market. Basically, what i want to say is that there would surely be a head ache in the first few weeks of December.

MY VACATION IS RUINED TOO(WAS PLANNING TO GO TO DUBAI),ALL BECAUSE I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 15-20 DAYS TO RECEIVE MY MONEY,RATHER THAN WAIT FOR A WEEK.

Rahul

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Hi ratnachhaya,

This project has been on for some time and over the last few months we have taken inputs from various buyer and seller groups. In fact in Chennai Top User Meet, a seller group went through look and feel of the new 'My PaisaPay'and gave feedback on the same. The feedback was then incorporated in the new pages.

Interestingly, we have seen an overwhelming support from buyers for the new idea. They love shopping on eBay because of the variety it offers and the sellers out there who make it a memorable experience for them. The only glitch they face is that they are un-sure about the experience they will get each time they visit eBay. One bad experience wipes away the fun that they got from 10 good experiences. They say that if they are sure that each time they visit eBay they will get a fabulous experience, they will start recommending ebay to their friends as well.

Once again, as I have mentioned before, it is important for us to do things that benefit both our buyers and sellers, because that is how we will increase our business.

Reegards,
Sapana

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Hi sitare_jewels,

As you migth be aware, the time limit to file an Item Not received claim with ebay buyer protection is only 60 days. If an international buyer is receiving product only after 50 days (assuming it took 10 days to dispatch the item), he will effectively loose the ability to be covered under buyer protection in case the seller does not send the product. This will further give bad experience to international buyers.

If there are buyers from countries, where you think will take lot of time to deliver the product, you may want to encourage them to pay via other popular payment modes where they are protected for a longer time.

Sapana
