AUTO Refunds - Your Views

Hello,

The launch of New PaisaPay would bring in lots of changes on the site.

The fearful one would be the AUTO REFUNDS.

Auto Refunds would be everyday affair as the Seller would not like to ship the Item if he has the slightest of doubt about the delay.

Many Sellers would avoid using 2nd grade Courier Services, Speed Post etc.

Getting a Physical POD within such a short duration would not be possible.

There would be quite a number of instances where the Buyer would get the Item as well as the Auto Refund.

Would like to know the Comments of the Co-Sellers as to what they feel about this and what would be their Strategy after the launch of New PaisaPay ?

I do not forsee any change in my business model, except that I will be getting paid a little later than currently.

I follow good business practices. I only ship through my contracted courier which have online tracking as well as time bound delivery schedules.

In fact our current delivery timeline is 7 working days against the 17 days which the new ebay rules will allow.

All sellers should adopt these changes as they are good for business as a whole instead on endless debating on non issues.

I have sold on an ebaY (baazee) without PaisaPay and will continue to sell on an ebay with only PaisaPay if it comes to that.

The new policy of eBay will give all the powers and unfair advantage to buyers and sellers will be totally helpless.

Would you stop Selling on ebay ?

We sellers have to stop selling at least high value items as the paisapay is made mandatory and paisapay charges have been increased to almost 4.5%(including tax).Low value items can be offer for sale if there will be no problem,if problems are created because of new policy then at last will have to say bye bye to eBay


Would you wait & watch ?

We don't have any option, eBay is not going to make any changes in their policy even the whole seller community oppose it and are not happy at all with it.

Would you stop selling High value Items ?

Yes, We cant sell high value items now on eBay as the policy will give unfair advantage to buyers and even a slight delay will result into loss of money and items both.Providing POD in such short time seems to be impossible and when we selling high value items,the paisapay charges seems to be too much.


Would you stop selling low value Items as shipping through 2nd grade Courier would be a risky affair?

We can’t sell high value items as there is too much risk in it, So we left with the only option of selling low value items or to stop selling completely on eBay.
I agree that shipping through 2nd grade courier is risky affair but charging shipping charges for best couriers will be very expensive compare to the price of low value items.

Would you keep selling the way you are doing now?

No way! The selling experience will be full of tensions and less fun. There will be lots of extra work and less of selling.

Well, it is not the right time to say. I have to observe the selling with New PaisaPay process for sometime.

Would you wait & watch ?
Yes, for the time being I have to wait and watch what's going on. Opposing is no more useful in front of eBay. What they introduce or say is pathar ki lakeer.

May be, if I do not qualify for Express Remittance thru New PaisaPay.

Most of my buyers are from outside India and I use Registered Airmail and Speed Post. It is cheap and takes some more time to deliver and getting POD from India Post is somewhat impossible. I have no other option because other couriers are too expensive for international shipment.

I will keep on selling low value items until I face any problem from buyer's end. Till now most of my buyers remained co-operative regarding delivery of items.

Yes. There is no other option left to sell on eBay.

Why do sellers have such a negative view about all the policies being implemented by Ebay.

The delivery issue would be a dampener for the ones who use cheap courier companies or the ones who do not stock material. Any seller who uses a good courier comapny would not be hassled by these rules. we sellers get payment in advance and still if we cannot deliver the product within seven days, we really are not a good seller.

Agreed delays do happen in some circumstances with the best of courier companies, but a follow up with buyer and courier company is only required for timely delivery.

Why would someone stop selleing on a portal like Ebay where everything is automated and you sell your product as you want to.

There is nothing to wait and watch. the policies are crystal clear and good for buyers. We sellers will only be able to sell our goods here if the buyers are happy.

We shall keep selling high value as well as low value products, as we are confident of giving time bound service to our buyers.

We will still be selling as we are and may be more aggressively in the comming months.

Every time a new policy is lauched by Ebay, many sellers make so much noise about the changes and still remain here selling the way they were. So guys get on with the work instead of just making a noise for few days and then get along with Ebay.

Yes, I think if things don’t work well, then I might have to start something else. Since years I was just engaged in eBay and was a full time seller. But now I will surely keep some back up as this is not a secure business.

Majority of my items are high value, so if I have to stop high value items then I will have to stop selling on eBay.

If I have to stop high value items then low value items will not be of any use to me. I cannot restrict my business and cannot sell under pressure. Peace of mind is important.

Depends, can only make up my mind after Dec. As of now it seems that doing business as I am doing now will not be possible.

Hi,

From now I 'll start using services of reputed couriers who claims international delivery within 4-6 days.
Definitely they would charge high rates, but as we are left with no other option, I ll also mark up the shipping prices accordingly.
Then, I would wait and watch my sales , if my sales is ok then even, then thats well and good but if sale goes down ..... I would like to say bye-bye to ebay, SIMPLE!!!

Auto refund will happen only if seller does not provide shipping details on time. We request our sellers to use a courier service that provides a valid reference number that buyers can use to track the status of their shipment. We strongly believe that this will help build greater confidence amongst buyers, resulting in increased business for our sellers.

While entering shipping details, physical POD is not required. It is just the shipment details (tracking number and courier name) that are required to be entered in the shipment details

Yes Sapana,

I can very well claify as to why there would be quite a number of instances ..... where the Buyer would get the Item as well as the Auto Refund.

Sapana .... most of the Sellers are using SpeedPost and other 2nd grade Couriers. They would continue to use those till they burn their fingers.

There are many instances where packets do get delayed. Sometimes it take 8-10 days to deliver in remote areas.

The tracking system of these Courier Comanpies (including SpeedPost ) is very poor and not at all dependable.

So ... once the Buyer files for refund .... Sellers won't be in a position to provide a valid proof.

ebay won't come for the rescue of the Seller and Auto refund would be inevitable.

Only on ebay .... Item or Auto Refund ( maybe both .. 🙂 )

Other shopping Portals also have a system of Auto Refund but the dispatch details are more than enough and they give you sufficient time after that. That's because they trust their Sellers. .
