As a premier seller of 3G Modems and Routers, I am starting a self help thread for issues with these modems, etc.
All users can chip in with their queries and solutions.
First topic:
UMG 1831 Modem:
1) Does this support Voice Call.
Ans: This does not support. Please do not waste your time doing R&D for it. It does support Video call with certain firmware and certain Mobile Partner Dashboard.
2) It gets very hot during usage.
Ans. It is normal. Do not worry. IT does not affect the usage in any way. We have used it for over 12 hours without any disconnection. Other users have used it for over 36 hours without any disconnection.
IF you are only downloading torrents, you can use the windows default dialer and set it to auto redial. When you use mobile partner it creates a windows dialer.
3)USSD with Mobile Partner:
Ans. You can get USSD working with mobile partner. You just have to follow the following procedure:
1) Go to My computer - C: Drive -> Open Program Files
-> Open Mobile Partner.
Locate Deviceinfo.xml open it in notepad.
Locate
below it, add the following command:
Save the file at the same location and
USSD code will start working in mobile partner.
For any other issues with UMG 1831, feel free to post on this thread.
