“MUTAL FEEDBACK WITHDRAWAL" PLEASE BRING IT BACK

In the past we have seen that “mutual feedback withdrawal” was the best policy which was used as a negotiating tool as a win-win situation for both the buyers and sellers, most of times sellers used to go out of his way to see the buyer satisfied (I have myself done this several times) because we had a window of Opportunity from where we could win back our customer and at the same time mutually remove the unwanted feedback and also make our customers happy.

But now by removing the “mutual feedback withdrawal policy” once the buyer leaves a negative or neutral feedback to the seller, it will not only demoralize the sellers but we also will not be interested to make any extra effort to win back the buyer and also the buyer will be at great loss because he will miss out on the terrific customer service they have been receiving earlier.

If this anti-seller policy is going to continue we are going to see more problems for eBay and especially for the sellers in days to come

1. Seller will loose those customers who have left an unfavorable feedback for them, because both the parties will be left in bad taste, because this is purely no look back feedback policy and nothing can be done about it.

2. Sellers you will loose repeated customers or orders, because we have seen earlier that once the dispute is resolved to buyer satisfaction, it gains buyer trust and more often than not he becomes a regular customer for that seller, but now if the unforable feedback is left well we know what to expect.

3. There will be Increase in number of unsatisfied buyers for eBay since the quality of customer service will not be on par once buyer leaves feedback.

4. Due to drastic changes feedback score we are going to see more feedback % fall then raise because even one negative or neutral feedback can spoil other hundreds of positive feedbacks and buyers will think twice to buy from a particular seller if is feedback is less than his expectation

5. More of genuine seller’s will be quitting eBay and looking for other alternatives because of anti seller attitude eBay have created in past few weeks

We sellers like to ask eBay India on what basis “mutual feedback withdrawal policy” was discontinued and do they realize the serious consequences that we sellers have to face ?

Hi,

Now the sellers can not put -ve FB for the buyers. So they can not threaten the buyers with non-positive feedback and then force a mutual feedback withdrawal. In this circumstances, if a buyer and a seller agrees for a mutual FB withdrawal then it ought to be a genuine gesture from the buyer. Its proved that the seller has been able to change the discontent of the buyer to satisfaction. So in no case there is any need of stopping the Mutual Withdrawal policy.

ebay says that it will check each and every FB to see if there are some anomally or not. The idea is nobel but the enactment of that in a daily manner is too absurd and cost intensive. Its really difficult to search for such annomally by automated method as there can be FBs even in Hinglish which means positive but with a neutral rating. Why spend on developing a software? Is ebay is planning to engage a large work force only to scan the FBs ?? But then we have to pay for their salaries by ebay & PP charges !! Why make things complicated without any justification ? There are enough things that are required to be done but no one pays attention on those real issues. It seems ebay People are more interested to remove the few remaining good things of ebay. If anyone cares about the sellers then its better to bring back the MWP.

Lastly, its useless to write complains here as ebay never rolls back on any policies due to members' protests on the discussion boards, except a very few minor ones.

Bye .
