Revision of PaisaPay Timelines

Dear Members,

The online shopping world has changed significantly over the past few years with introduction of easy payment modes; Mobile based shopping and new technology. Members today are more internet savvy and their expectations from online shopping are also higher now.

Continuing our pursuit to improve member experience and making it as attractive as possible for end users, we are revising PaisaPay shipping and delivery timelines.

The changes shall be applicable after 30 days from today.

The current timelines were set in 2007 and it was necessary for us to modify them to meet the expectations of our users in today’s dynamic online shopping world. We believe the revised PaisaPay timelines will improve the overall member experience.

The revised PaisaPay timelines are as follows:

•Timelines for sellers to enter shipping details in PaisaPay is changed from 7 days to 5 days
–The revised shipping timelines will enable buyers to get their products faster. In turn, it will increase buyer satisfaction and hence sellers’ chances of receiving more business and more positive feedback from buyers.

•Timelines for delivering products to the buyer post entering shipping details is changed from 10 days to 7 days
–We observed that most products are generally delivered within 7 days of shipment, and these changes will allow sellers to receive their remittance faster.

We are revising relevant policies to bring the aforesaid changes and the same shall be applicable from September 27, 2011 and all payments from September 27, 2011 shall be as per the revised PaisaPay timelines as mentioned above.

The higher management at ebay.in needs a complete overhaul! With rules like these no new seller will be able to cope up and leave ultimately.

Many other shopping portals that have tie-ups with Bluedart also at times take more than 3 days to deliver a product and ebay expects sellers to deliver a product within 7 days anywhere in India?!!! 😮

And yeah, improve your customer care! Outsource your work to a better company than the one your are using currently.

5 days to enter shipping details is ok and is fully justified. Even 3 days is ok for serious sellers as most of the items are shipped within 2 days. However 7 days for deivery is too short. In case of metro cities its fine, but India is a huge country. To grow the online business, we do need to reach the buyers in smaller towns and villages. it does take more than 7 days for interior locations. I am from Kolkata and if a buyer orders from Rajasthan, or kerala, sometimes it takes 8-10 days to deliver even by the top courier companies. It will be a lot of headache if buyers open claim on the 8th day and subsequently the product is delivered. Not all buyers close the claim. Now will i keep following up with the buyers and courier companies or concentrate on growing my ebay business by procuring or listing more items. Please think logically before making a policy. At least have the opinion of top 20 sellers before taking such drastic decisions

It will affect not just the sellers, but also ebay's reputation with the customers. Figure this out. Buyers from smaller towns and villages do not get the item within 7 days and they raise refund request. They get their refund, but have an impression that items purchased from ebay gets lost in transit. They will think twice before buying the item again.

Also please note that some of the items, which are heavy in weight are shipped through surface mode, which takes at least 7 days even in case of metro cities. These items exceed 5 Kgs in weight, eg. electronics, poker chip sets etc, liquid ink in large quantities ( as in my case). Note that as per govt and courier regulations liquid content cannot be sent by air courier. It needs to be sent by surface mode only. What will we do in such a case? Shut down the business or ship only to metro cities buyers?
Whoever has initiated this change in policy clearly do not have any selling experience on ebay. I have shipped more than 4000 items in last year and half and I am 100% sure that this policy is going to backfire and discourage the sellers to grow their business on ebay.

A case in refernce - Future group has 7 days deliery guarantee for online purchases. I bought an item and they took 30 days to deliver, apparently bcoz the product was out of stock on their regional warehouse. As per them this was an exception and not a norm. May be. I dont know. But the point is that they didnt refund the money, irrespective of whatever delivery timeline they promised. So if this decision is taken based on the promises by other ecommerce portal, then the above instance will make my point clear.

As per Indian law of contract, the risk of loss passes on to the buyer once a sale is made, even irrespective of the fact whether payment has been made or not. Even if the goods are damaged in seller’s custody after sale, the buyer has to bear the risk. Leave aside damage or loss in transit.
However due to peculiar conditions in India, delivery or refund is a good practise to grow the online business. 10 days delivery timeframe was fair enough for both buyers and sellers. There is really no need to make it 7 days.

What happens when there are disputes or conflicts of land in various regions like Telengana and north East. During any such issues no courier is allowed to move forward till issues are resolved. At times courier companies just keep on holding the item for more than 7 days in their location. What can a seller do about it.

Ebay it is clear you cannot manage quite a few things as of now, why complicate things more.

Why not reduce the gifts timeline from 45 days to 5 days. Are you capable of doing that?

If not then spare us plsssssssssssssssssssss

Also would like to add that though the timelines decided by you were couple of years back they were realistic. Nothing has changed in the last 2 years in the logistics industries to change the timelines. What is the rational behind this thought??

Unless there is even a small change in logistics industries there isnt any justifiable reason to take such a step.

Policy changes of ebay only brings more headache for the sellers and not earnings.
Policy changes by ebay has done nothing to boost sellers in the last 1-2 yrs.

As a means of reciprocation I suggest the following 2 changes to be done for the seller:-

1> Paisapay should make payment to the seller within 2 days after the last date of item receipt in place of the present 5 days.

2> Express Remittance to sellers should be done 3 days in a week in place of 2 days.

Will, will, will ebay introduce such changes to benefit the sellers ??????????.

Wonderful policy for ebay! but not for us!
It is hard to deliver an item to a rural or remote areas, especially north-east, J&K, East India locations.
No couriers can't assure a delivery with in 7days to all locations in India. Which courier service is working on the holidays? it is impossible to deliver with in the dead line if there is continuous holidays. So better we make vacation notice before holidays comes in! do we want to do that and loose your holiday season sale!
@ebay, If you dare to do this change, take the shipping part on your control and deliver items with in 5days, If you can... Buy branded tools at cheaper prices from http://stores.ebay.in/machpowertools
