Together with you we have been pursuing the goal of growing the online shopping business in India. To do this we have been investing continuously, along with our seller-members, to achieve the common objective of buyer delight.

Changes in eBay Fees: Post discussions with our key sellers across categories and after understanding the commercial dynamics of the ‘supply-chain’ in various product categories, we have made changes to the eBay.in fee structure and these can be viewed on the announcement board.

We would be conducting an online workshop tomorrow from 4 to 5 PM on this thread & we encourage you attend this Workshop, or use our Customer Support Resources to help you understand the overall Fees changes.

Dear handicrafts_store,

We have analyzed that in the current scenario you are subscribed to a Premium Store with monthly listings lesser than 3000.

In the new scenario if you continue to list the same number of listings, we suggest you to take a basic store which will not impact your upfront cost of selling drastically

As we mentioned in our earlier posts too, the prices have not increased in the price sensitive categories. We welcome your suggestions on remittance being sent every day & shall keep you updated in case of any progress on this matter. In cases where the refunds have been initiated post the order has been dispatched, we would urge you to escalate this to our Customer Support channels.

We believe that sellers with > 50 Feedback score have been able to provide a good user experience however we do have exceptions. Request you to get in touch with your Account Manager or Customer Support Channels to know more on the Express Remittance facility.
Shipping charges have been arrived at after discussions with several courier companies and sellers and understanding their rates. However based on our learning’s, we would relook at these as and when required.

Categories such as Apparels are not that price sensitive and buyers would use various criteria like style, design, sellers feedback score and overall value of the product apart from the pricing.

Offering free shipping would defintely attract more buyers to your listings. This decision is totally upto the seller.

We understand the need for a shipping solution and are working on the same. We shall keep you updated on the progress.

What a marketing gimmik is given by Seemak .. Hats off to u marketing people ..

U say , the increase in listing fees results into effective listing of products on Ebay ... on the other hand ur customer managers daily calls and ask to increase the listing in order to increase the sales ..

how do we know which Item will sell , We have to list the Item and take a chance if it got sold .. this is a very simple business strategy .. Dont you understand this basic simple thing ???

We are already struggling with courier prices .. Now FVF and Paisapay cost us approx 12% on Courier charges .. hehehe

then not We , its Ebay who is looting the Customers .. i am selling Salwar kameez.. the Weight of it is approx 800GM to 1Kg .. Now we are forced to take 90-100 Rs Per ITEM for delivery ..

Indian Customer is very Price Conservative .. If we ask them , they will not return back .. and if we try to adjust the price in Product .. Then either we does'nt gets feedback or gets reply or Negative feedback as product is expensive than market ..

Do u hv any plan for this Fire ?????

Seema Ji , one free advise for ur management people .. Its better to Close this Thread .. if Buyer starts watching it , then they will realise that Ebay is going to be the Loot Station and they loose their faith in E Commerce and start Purhasing from Local Shops instead going online .. Tring tring .. This is not America or UK .. This is India ...

In a scenario where we charge for every listing, sellers are likely to list products that they think have a reasonable surety to sell. This will increase the share of relevant listings available to buyers, with increased visibility, which is likely to lead to a positive impact on business in terms of increased sales and a great buyer experience.

We would reiterate that any categories where we felt that an increase in pricing will negatively impact the seller’s business have not been touched.

We have also noted your concerns related to SNP, suspensions, etc. and your account manager is looking into it and will keep you updated.

Dear Seemaji,

All the initiatives listed by you such as "eBay Guarantee, Community Review Forum, Product Based Search Experience" have surely gone a long way in increasing the trust and confidence that buyers can openly cheat the sellers and get away with it with the blessings of "ebay claim adjusters" and ebay has been just a mute spectator in this game.

Madam, these initiative have not helped the seller in any way imaginable except probably in hastening the sellers decision to close shop on ebay and shift to better pastures, these have just increased a bunch of rogue sellers on ebay because of which genuine and senior sellers have suffered. What a joke....

Hi !

Ebay should not forget.. it needs both buyers as well as genuine sellers.It seems ebay cares only for buyers.

In last one year or so whatever policy changes made on ebay are all in favour of buyer & nothing to help sellers.

so many issues for seller to hanle (SNP,DSR,feedback,guarantee claims,transit loss etc..) & now increase in selling & listing fees on ebay.

shipping cost for all sellers has increased in past year and what ebay does puts cap on shipping charges.why not increase shipping charges by atlest 15-20% and not allow buyer to give low DSR for shipping.

Now it seems there is no option but to close premium shop and reduce number of listings & increase price... which in turn will affect sales.

I hope ebay understands sellers point of view and rollback this price hike..
