Same happened twice with me too, when I was selling my laptop few days back.
I am pretty new to eBay India, but have used eBay several times in US. Therefore was not aware of these scams by Nigerians. In the first deal, the issue even went to the stage of receiving a fake email from Western Union saying that I have received a money order from Buyer, but it can only be released when I ship the item and provide them the tracking number of shipped item.
I got suspicious by two things - first was this email communication and other was the fact that this guy had over paid for my items by almost 20% compared to the buying price. Add to that the $500 shipping fee he was paying even without my knowledge and approval.
Anyway, better sense prevailed and I got saved.
My advise to you would be not to sell your item with 'Buy-it now' feature. As these guys normally look for quick transactions.
