Another seller copying pictures from my listing & selling fake Nokia xesory

Hi, this seller "Amritsar_collections" is copying my pictures, i reported to tns they said "We have reviewed your listing <160452188354> and the listing that you have reported, <160455220370>. After careful comparison, we have found that these listings do not appear to be substantially similar, and, accordingly, do not violate eBay's Image and Text Theft policy. If you have already contacted this member, it is possible that he or she has already removed the objectionable material. "

what the hell do they mean by substantially similar? I am losing business because of this. and TnS crying not substantially similar.

They are also selling Nokia BL-5c battery for Rs 110, which is 100% duplicate Nokia Battery. As original nokia bl5c comes for around Rs 350

Also, selling Nokia Charger for Rs 135 again copy/duplicate/fake nokia , as Original charger costs around 350.

Still TnS not taking any action. buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.

What @shopper-world has suggested and used is a ebay listing template which are plenty available on the net, you can google and get it. The main point here is that if someone is hell bent on copying then nothing can be done, basically all the coding is in html and that can easily be duplicated.

The good point is that the reputation you have built overs years comes to your help here so let anyone copy your images no problems, what he cannot copy is your service and your reputation.

Hi, i am also facing same issue, in my case it is not the image but it is text which describe the technical specification of the item (Bosch pressure washer), one seller has copied (cut & paste) the specification of my Bosch pressure washer and use it in his listing for the similar item which is not actually having the same specification (with out understanding his product specifications) , which is like misleading a buyer.
When i wrote to ebay TnS, i received a exactly same answer like you, looks like an automated email.

Raj is right that if someone is hell bent on copying then nothing can be done but we can stop those dummies who dont know anything about HTML or coding coz if they had that know how than they should have had there very own listings.They cant do anything other than using right click on the mouse and copy everything sometime links as well.

anyways what i am using is not any ebay listing template which you can google it but its a simple javaScript which dont allow the right click on the listing but if someone have little know how than full listing can be copied and as Raj said we cant do anything.Thanks

Anyway if you disable right click using java script on your listing there is always ctrl + c to copy it. A seller can only protect its description or any other listing with text if it can be made in macromedia flash file and integrated to your listings. But this method is time consuming and you need extra knowledge to do that. For pictures I will say there is hardly you can do anything.For seller who are shooting there own photos I will suggest to write your ebay id on a piece of paper and keep it along with your item during shooting. Also watermark it once again properly over the object or item which you have taken a shot. This is maximum what you can do to stop picture theft. As we know 100% protecting picture from coping is hardly possible.If any body has any other suggestion can put up on this thread.
