Recently I had a very bad experience with E-bay.....I am not bothered about losing the money as it was was only 300 bucks.....actually its an eye onener that how e-bay is cheating its customers with its e-bay guarantee claim.
I had booked a product in Nov 2014 - HH22 Bottled Water Dispenser Manual Pump hand press - booking ID (261539799786). This product was available at various prices (Rs 125, Rs 199, Rs299). The Rs 299 product had claims such as food grade plastic quality, etc. As I wanted to use this product for drinking water I selected the higher price product. E bay delivered the product with in the time they had promissed.
First cheating - When I opened the product it was made of cheap quality plastic no different from the the Rs 125 variant.
Second cheating - The product was simply useless. The vaccum did not work and so it could not dispense a single drop of water.
I decided to claim refund under e-bay guarantee and filed an online claim. Two days later I got an email asking me to provide a proof for my claim. I dont know what proof was i supposed to provide. The same day I got a call from e-bay asking about the problem. I explained that the product does not work at all and I have got an email asking for proof. The lady told me that I can file a claim and I will receive the refund. I explained that I have already filed a claim and thats why probably she is calling me.
Third cheating - A day later I got an email saying that since I did not provide the proof my refund claim has been rejected. The matter is thus resolved. Wow!! what a resolution.....hats off to the ebay team!!
Fourth cheating - After this I wrote 3-4 emails to the customer care of e-bay. They just don't bother now. this is worst customer service i have ever experienced in the last three years since the time i have been making online purchase. Amazon is certainly the best. Even Flipkart and Snapdeal are much better. I had not expectced such behaviour from ebay. I and my friends have made purchases from ebay in past also. However, I have learnt my lesson now.....fortunately the product was not too costly.
I have informed my entire facebook circle about the farse of e-bay guarantee. Thank you e-bay for fooling me once. It has actually been an eye opener. will never ever buy again from e-bay.
