Dear All,

Hello,

Lets Learn from each other's expertise.
I am starting this thread where contributions from everybody is expected.
May it be the Champions of Baazee ERA OR the New Comers.
Helpful ebay Staff members too are requested to show their presence.

The purpose of this thread is to put forward your expertise / knowledge which you think would be helpful to other members.

It may be Tips .....which may help in Selling better.

It may be pointing out..... the best Courier Company for National Selling.

It may be the best email service available.

It may be something related to Computers, Windows, Anti-virus, Ad-ware, spy-ware.

It may be something which others shouldn't do .....unknowingly.

Anything which you think would be helpful to others.

Just don't think that a particular TIP is quite common ....there may be someone who might be benefitted out of that.

MY CONTRIBUTION

I am giving you a small TIP ......many of you must be aware of this. But I still feel that there may be few who are un-aware of this.....

For All those who are using Windows XP and find that the system takes too long to BOOT UP.
Also, when you shut down ....the system takes time.
This may be due to many Items place in the start up.
That is..... many icons placed at the right hand bottom........ near the clock.
Icons of skype, Blinking net connection, webshots, Anti-virus, Bit meter, fax, MSN messanger...etc etc..
This slows down the machine quite a lot.
There may be many, who have higher configuration with higher RAM, but still the TIP may be useful.

Just HIBERNATE the system while closing.
For this.... Click start
Click...Turn off Computer.
Press SHIFT.
The Standby button would change to Hibernate.
Keeping the shift pressed ...left click HIBERNATE.

This will save your current desktop state to your hard disk so that you can resume where you left off, than shuts down your computer.

HOPING TO SEE MORE TIPS ON THIS THREAD.

Lets learn from each other's expertise

Hi indconcepts,
1.I feel sorry for veda.He cant do the mfw also. But he can still approach eBay for removal of that..
2.I am having low sales. It may be because I have started sellng stamps along with stones. It may be the football.Ebuyers are spending more time on TV.
But I am thinking this seriously.:::
Can my wife sell stamps with her own id/bank account/mobile number?Ofcourse from this computer. Will it violate any ebay policy? We shall not buy and sell among ourselves. She can have a basic shop of her own.I have a feeling that two different class of items from the same counter discourage buyers. Its like selling fresh fruit from a medicine shop.I am confused.I have not been able to achieve target this month.Thats a disgrace.More than money,a failure bites.
Do I stop selling stamps? This happened earlier also when I put up home decoration stuff on sale.
What do you think?
Thanx,
Truly,
Amitava

Dear Amitava,

Hello,

I have seen number of people creating different ID's for different Items. This projects them as specialists in their field. But there is no hard and fast rule for this as many big sellers have their presence in a number of categories.

Fluctuation of sale depends on number of factors and the Seller is the best judge.

If you feel that creating two ID's isn't a hassle for you then you can always create a second one in your wife's name. Rather many Sellers have more than ONE ID in their own name too. You can have as many ID's as you want and there is no restriction.

The only thing to be kept in mind is that there should be NO shill bidding.

Using the same computor isn't a problem till the time you abide by ebay's policies.

Lets learn from each other's expertise

Hi indconcepts,
I understand eBay allows multiple IDs provided I merge them.Does it mean,I can can have a separate store for selling separate category items under a separate ID?Does eBay allow the same guy to operate absolutely separately? Then what about billing?Does it mean,I get say two bills for two shops?
I have seen international members using two separate ids,say one for buying and one for selling. But is it permissible to use 2 separate ids both for selling?
Thanx,

Dear Amitava,

You can have any number of ID's in your name.

You can do everything in your other ID's like the way you do in your principal ID.

You can open up shop in every ID, in different names.

Its your choice if you want seperate ID's for Selling & Buying.

You will get seperate Invoices for different ID's ....all in your name.

Anyday if you want to merge those ID's then it's your wish. Merging of ID's takes place as per the policy laid down by ebay.

Hi indconcepts,
Does eBay have any tool which can be used to sell some old listings in shop format at half price.I want to show the original price and current price at the same time. Also I want to transfer them to fixed price format. That way I can reduce the number of listings and also add new and interesting items.

Dear Amitava,

Hello,

There isn't any such special tool.

You may describe the details in the listing or create a specail Category in your shop to promote such Items.

Also, I would like to tell you that in the Shop Format only FIXED PRICE Items can be created.

Hi Umang Midha,Thanx,
Thats a good idea.Create a Clearence sale half price seconds goods counter.
But ,dont you think, there should be something like that in the edit format?Do I write to CS to introduce that? That saves a lot of hassel.
I got this idea from an Australian user.He offered to buy my unsold items at 2/3rd prices. It was a big deal.I did business of 500Au$.

Lets learn from each other's expertise

Hi Indconcepts,
I am passing through a bad phase. This month's sales are very very poor.May be coming month will pick up.Then ,one Italian buyer has not received item I sent on 5th june.I have taken it up with postal department.Probably it is stuck up in customs. But I have asked PaisaPay to help me refund her the money Rs1850.
Now I want to ask you this.I have a unverified PayPal A/C.Can I verify that with SBI credit card?I dont believe foreign banks operating in India.emailswarup has a bad experience. He had to take the help of police to make that straight.SBI card has a visa icon.If I can make my PayPal fully operational and maintain a balance of say 5 to 10 thousand bucks, then probably I dont have to ask PaisaPay to help me in such matters of giving refund.I can pay from my PayPal A/c.What do you say?
Thanx,
Truly,
