Dear All,

Hello,

Lets Learn from each other's expertise.
I am starting this thread where contributions from everybody is expected.
May it be the Champions of Baazee ERA OR the New Comers.
Helpful ebay Staff members too are requested to show their presence.

The purpose of this thread is to put forward your expertise / knowledge which you think would be helpful to other members.

It may be Tips .....which may help in Selling better.

It may be pointing out..... the best Courier Company for National Selling.

It may be the best email service available.

It may be something related to Computers, Windows, Anti-virus, Ad-ware, spy-ware.

It may be something which others shouldn't do .....unknowingly.

Anything which you think would be helpful to others.

Just don't think that a particular TIP is quite common ....there may be someone who might be benefitted out of that.

MY CONTRIBUTION

I am giving you a small TIP ......many of you must be aware of this. But I still feel that there may be few who are un-aware of this.....

For All those who are using Windows XP and find that the system takes too long to BOOT UP.
Also, when you shut down ....the system takes time.
This may be due to many Items place in the start up.
That is..... many icons placed at the right hand bottom........ near the clock.
Icons of skype, Blinking net connection, webshots, Anti-virus, Bit meter, fax, MSN messanger...etc etc..
This slows down the machine quite a lot.
There may be many, who have higher configuration with higher RAM, but still the TIP may be useful.

Just HIBERNATE the system while closing.
For this.... Click start
Click...Turn off Computer.
Press SHIFT.
The Standby button would change to Hibernate.
Keeping the shift pressed ...left click HIBERNATE.

This will save your current desktop state to your hard disk so that you can resume where you left off, than shuts down your computer.

HOPING TO SEE MORE TIPS ON THIS THREAD.

Hello Amitava,

I am pasting some information for you....

The Verification process is a way for PayPal to gain additional proof of a member's identity in conjunction with our own authentication methods, and increases the security of our payment network for everyone.

You can add paypal if it isn't verified.
You can withdraw money by cheque....( there is a limit)
You can pay through Paypal for your purchases.

I haven't followed that.....why they have charged for shop listing in U.K ?
I think shop listings aren't related to any site and just remain in your shop. You are only charged for regular listings on respective sites.
There may be charges for listing in shop on other sites but you have a shop on ebay India where there are NO charges for shop format in India

I won't be able to suggest as I haven't followed your question .....What do you mean when you say.... you have listed in shop format in U.K.....You are registered on ebay India and have a shop DEEP GEMS....so what does U.K has to do here?....Its only the regular listings which are charged on other sites....for Indan sellers.

My personal opinion is that depending upon the popularity of your Items you should concentrate on ebay.com & ebay.co.uk ( or one of the european site)only ..........I would say just concentrate on ebay.com first.

I have recently collaborated with someone for International brands in Apparel and am concentrating on ebay.com & ebay.co.uk

I am not that experienced and am in a learning phase like you.

Hi Umang Midha,
Thanx for your reply.I have really listed in my shop format in UK.In regular listing they show there, they appear ,but the system is same as here. They appear as green boxes as here in India. If you click on your shop icon in your listing, you can see those listings and also the Rs15 listings. So I could see about 30 items or so. But Mr Umang Midha I am sorry to say the items I listed in feature plus do not show at all.So which gives you more value for money?I think the Indian Rs15 listing is fantastic.REALLY WORKS.
I think you are right about .com listing.I have not started listing there.UK and Australia had always been easier for me.They kinda have a similarity with us in many ways.
About eBay fees I really am not so agreived.I wanted to give eBay something against the services I am getting. Its like giving a friend .Does not matter much. I am selling and earning, isnt it?
Thanx again,
Truly,
Amitava

Hi indconcepts,
I learned many things from you. There are certain features in ebay which have great advantages, but very few use that, simply because they dont need to.
Could you please help me to add a subcategory in a shop? I have recently started listing stamps. Now stones and stamps have to have separate categories. Then again I need to add certain categories in stamps, like Great Britain,British colonials,British Indian States etc.etc.
Please do suggest something.I dont know how to add a subcategory.
Thanx,
Truly,

Dear Amitava,

Hello,

Adding a sub category is quite simple.

If you are using selling Manager....

1. Click "Managage My Shop" under MY SUBSCRIPTIONS.
2. Click "Shop Categories" under SHOP DESIGN.
3. Click "Add Category" Button to create a main Category.
4. These main Categories are called LEVEL ONE categories.

If you already have LEVEL ONE categories and want to create sub categories then click the particular category of Level One, for which you want to create a sub category.

Then click the "Add Category" Button.
Write the various sub categories names in seperate boxes that appear.
This way you would be creating the LEVEL TWO sub categories.

Similarly clicking the Level 2 category, you can create level 3 sub categories.

The maximum limit is 300 categories ( including main & Sub)

You can go down upto level 3.

Its quite easy ....if you get struck up some where then you may write back.

Lets learn from each other's expertise

Hi indconcepts,
Thats very useful feature. The stone buyer will find stamps to be boring and the reverse is also true. But this feature helps to have two shops, may be more inside one.
So I am getting new ideas to organise the shop.
That will increase sell, not immediately, but in future. It becomes a one stop shop for many different items.Pple may call me with a different name other than stoneman.
Thanx,
Truly,

Hello to all,

We are based at Jaipur and propose to list our products on ebay.com (USA) and ebay.in (India) for International sale.

The solutions provided (for international payment)by ebay are Paypal and Paisapay. Are these both legal as per RBI guidelines ? Do they issue FIRC.

They send the cheque in INR whereas the payment of exports (made from India) should come to India through a bank in foreign currency.

What are the best payment options available ? Can Moneybookers,CCavenue and Payseal (ICICI bank)be used in listings on ebay i.e. allowed by ebay ?

Please guide and oblige.

With regards,

Hello shriganapati111,

I don't think PaisaPay issues FIRC.

PayPal is not available & not integrated with ebay India. But you can still use PayPal.
For Indians the maximum withdrawal limit is US$ 2,500 per month from PayPal.

As far as the payment methods are concerned ....ebay allows and encourages only those payment methods for which there is a legal proof.

What's allowed and what's Not is mentioned in ebay's Safe Payments Policy......

Permitted on eBay.in: Sellers may offer to accept PaisaPay, credit cards including Mastercard / Visa cards and online bank transfer service offered by PaisaPay for eBay purchases. Sellers may accept COD (cash on delivery) or cash for in person transactions. Sellers may offer to accept cheques, money orders, demand drafts, certified cheques and other negotiable instrument.

Not Permitted on eBay.in: Sellers may not solicit buyers to mail cash. Sellers may not ask buyers to send cash through instant cash transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point cash transfers) such as Western Union. Finally, sellers may not request payment through online payment methods not specifically permitted in this policy.

You may visit the following thread where much has been discussed about International Selling....

Dear veda2810,

You are quite right.

The Seller is based in Delhi and in one of the feedback remarks the Buyer has received COD in Chennai.

The listing ended on 17th and the feedback was also left on 17th.

All the feedback remarks stress on FAST DELIVERY.

Something is fishy.

Be Careful.
