Hello,
Lets Learn from each other's expertise.
I am starting this thread where contributions from everybody is expected.
May it be the Champions of Baazee ERA OR the New Comers.
Helpful ebay Staff members too are requested to show their presence.
The purpose of this thread is to put forward your expertise / knowledge which you think would be helpful to other members.
It may be Tips .....which may help in Selling better.
It may be pointing out..... the best Courier Company for National Selling.
It may be the best email service available.
It may be something related to Computers, Windows, Anti-virus, Ad-ware, spy-ware.
It may be something which others shouldn't do .....unknowingly.
Anything which you think would be helpful to others.
Just don't think that a particular TIP is quite common ....there may be someone who might be benefitted out of that.
MY CONTRIBUTION
I am giving you a small TIP ......many of you must be aware of this. But I still feel that there may be few who are un-aware of this.....
For All those who are using Windows XP and find that the system takes too long to BOOT UP.
Also, when you shut down ....the system takes time.
This may be due to many Items place in the start up.
That is..... many icons placed at the right hand bottom........ near the clock.
Icons of skype, Blinking net connection, webshots, Anti-virus, Bit meter, fax, MSN messanger...etc etc..
This slows down the machine quite a lot.
There may be many, who have higher configuration with higher RAM, but still the TIP may be useful.
Just HIBERNATE the system while closing.
For this.... Click start
Click...Turn off Computer.
Press SHIFT.
The Standby button would change to Hibernate.
Keeping the shift pressed ...left click HIBERNATE.
This will save your current desktop state to your hard disk so that you can resume where you left off, than shuts down your computer.
HOPING TO SEE MORE TIPS ON THIS THREAD.
regards

I am not too sure what you have in mind.
You want to have a website of your own .....fine.
But do you want do divert people from ebay to your website ? Also, it seems that you don't want to trade through your website.
Or do you want to divert people from yoursite to ebay ?
Or may be vice versa ?
ebay would always welcome you when you divert traffic from your website to ebay.
ebay has a affiliate programme and you can earn good amount through that route.
But if you want to divert traffic from your ebay ID or ME PAGE to your website then there may be some restrictions.
I am not much aware about that.
But the ebay policy on website says that....
On your About Me page, you may link to your own web site or individual Internet shop where you are offering to trade, sell or purchase your goods or services. However, you may not link to any page within online trading sites that offer goods from multiple sellers either in a fixed price or auction format.
But I have doubts about this policy too.
you may better write to Customer Care before you take any step towards your Brilliant IDEA.
best regards

What if a buyer clicks pay now, clicks the blue cross payment made, does not pay at all, gives -ve?If he does that for multiple items, the poor seller may get suspended...with a tag of no longer registered. What protection the seller got against fraud buyers?

Yes, he can do that..... but then .... in return he will get number of UPI strikes.
He would not be able to provide payment proof.
So, it would he who would get suspended.
Also, that in the feedback rating only unique negatives are counted..... so multiple negatives from a Buyer won't drop your percentage.
And finally, if within 90 days of registeration if a Buyer gets suspended then all the feedbacks exchanged with him are NULL & VOID.

Another thing please. What are the advantages of a featured shop?
I dont understand featureplus listing. They should rename it as 'TOP ITEM LISTING'.That is more meaningful and likely to give a boost to seller participation.Say my top items are sandalwood color coral necklace and cobalt blue aquamarine. Both are almost impossible to find in the net.I think you understand. If you propose,eBay will accept that,I am sure.
I once suggested listing fees and eBay accepted that. But I became somewhat unpopular in the community. So I dont want the proposal come from me.
Thanx,,
Truly,,

I am pasting few benefits of featured shop.....
Cross-selling of your Shop inventory on all your listings pages.
Priority Placement in "Related Shops" sections.
Featured Placement on the eBay Shops home page.
Prime Positioning in the top level directory pages where you have items listed.
The featured plus listing feature prioritizes your listing in the List view. Once a buyer clicks on a category page for the item he is looking to buy, “Featured Plus” listing appear on the top of the list view (default view) page.
I think you will have to try this feature plus to get that 'TOP ITEM LISTING'. This feature will give priority to your Top Items which would be placed on Top, in the list view. .

Referrign to your post No 38, I would liek to clarify that one can be verified by using a HDFC netSafe Card.
You need to make a Card of Value Rs 100-120 (approx) go throught he verification process. The verification code will appear on your regular statement.
You can also access the verification code before the statement arrives by using HDFC netbanking and registering your Credit Card by providing the ATM pin code.

Regarding Posting no 35 !!
This is known as eBay arbitrage. HEre you buy an item from ebay and sell it again at a higher price.
The reason the buyer dosent want a feedback in this case is that
1. He dosent want to reveal the price at which he bought the product.
2. He dosent want to reveal that he bought/sold any product from an Indian (or intertional) seller so as not to expose the source market to his buyers.
There are a few more tips for eBay arbitrage but since i am already doing it i need to maintain secrecy.

Thanks a lot for clarification (Post No.45)
I am already verified with Paypal and never used a Netsafe card of HDFC.
I used the logic as the Card expires after 48 hours or after single use which ever is first. I thought it might not be acceptable with Paypal.
But if you have used it this way then it would be a boon to many members who want to open an account with Paypal but hesitate to use a plastic card.
