< For Buyers> Negative Ratings...

Sometimes when you receive an item from a seller, you may not be satisfied. The item may not be as good as it looked in the picture, it may have got damaged in transit, sizes may differ, whatever...

If for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, your main aim is to either get a refund or a replacement. Am I Right ? So Do not immediately give a negative rating to the seller because this will not help you in anyway. Because after getting a negative rating, the seller may not be willing to co-operate at all.

When you receive the product and you are not happy, try communicating with the seller first. Most sellers are willing to co-operate if given a chance. Explain your problem to them and ask for a solution. All good sellers will help you even if it means incurring a loss in that transaction.

Only if they are not willing to co-operate, should you give them a negative feedback.

What can I do if I win an auction, without reserve price and on buyer pick up basis only, and the seller does not want to complete the transaction?

Hi,

Nice to see your replies.

Thanks for mentioning the method for putting logo with every posts. Strangely, whatever you have written inside the quotes as the path is not visible to me. Its coming as a small cross. Can you please mention it once more without the quotes.

Also, is it possible to link animated logo from my yahoo free site like I have done in my eBay listings and about me pages? I am not good in Web page related matters and HTML, just learned a little bit by trial and error last week. But I think inserting a logo in messages won't be that complicated. I also have a non-animated logo in my eBay preferences, can try to use that if its not permissible to draw from logo other sites.

Hi Rahul

Everyone is new in the beginning. Even we started with Zero ratings. Many buyers who are new are not aware of the significance of ratings. If they like the product, they will buy it.

I suggest the following to increase your sales :

1. Subscribe to PaisaPay ( it is free )
2. Increase your inventory (around 10 products or more )
3. Dont list them for 7 days, but for 3 days to increase exposure.
4. If some products are really good, you can promote them using Enhanced Listings
5. Keep your margins low. Keep shipping charges low.
6. Give photographs and proper descriptions to your items.
7. Give a 100% satisfaction guarantee

If you follow the above steps, you will increase your chances of making more sales. Hence you will get ratings faster.

Over a period of time you will find more and more buyers trusting you.

Hi Swarup

I am aware that my HTML code is not showing up. The reason is that whatever dummy URL i am typing, the browser is trying to retrieve it from the net. Since it is a dummy URL, it is not finding any image and hence giving a Box.

Let me trick the browser and try once again

Please note : Remove the dot(.)after the i. It will be img and not i.mg

I am not sure whether animated logo would work or not. Technically, i dont think there should be a problem. You can give it a try and let me know if it works.

If you have a logo on eBay's server, use that instead of a url of some other site. eBay has strict policies and they might suspend you for such mistakes.

Hi Arunava

Before you bid on an auction, You should first find out what are the Payment options the seller is offering.

If the seller does not offer Pickup option, then he might decide not to complete the transaction. If he offers Pickup facility and still doesnt want to complete the transaction, you might open an INR ( Item not received dispute ).

Just remember that Pickup option is something most sellers do not offer. If he doesnt offer this, you cannot demand that you will pick it up from his office.
