International Courier rates

Reputed couriers all charge around Rs 1900 for halg kg packet to USA. When I tell US buyers this amount, they do not come back to buy.
How come some sellers offering shipping at Rs 800 to the USA for a saree?
Please help.

I think eBay should step in and enter into a discounted rate agreement with reputed international couriers for its members. This will be a win-win-win situation for eBay, individual sellers and the courier company.

Well the reputated couriers like Blue Dart, DHl or FEDEX will take so high, and hence all EXPORTS made from INDIA for all COMMODITIES are made thru the INDIAN POST. There is a Specific FOREIGH POSTAL OFFICE for this which can be located in the GENERAL POST OFFICE ( GPO ) of each city. So, you can simply walk in there and as the procedures...You need not tell him that you sell ONLINE..he only needs to know that you want to send regular shipments and what are the Procedures..



GET your SHIPMENTS INSURED ( 10 %, 25 %, 50 % ) etc...of your Order value. and SHIP WITH SPEED POST ( INTERNATIONAL thru the FOREIGN POSTAL OFFICE ) You should also get your shipments inspected by the customs, for smoother transit INTERNATIONAL...



Hope this info helps you save a lot of money on shipments and also get you International Buyers....



All EXPORTS FROM INDIA are shipped thru the INDIAN POSTAL SERVICES.....

Well the normal delivery time is 3 - 5 business days in USA and around 7 days IN EUROPE. These are Pure Buisness DAYS, EXCLUDING the day you shipped the shipment. The Tracking info is also available for almost all shipments, which enhances customers and your Confidence to ship. The other means are normal Post, and thru SHIP.....but SPEED POST is the BEST, the goods are hendled well here. ONLY LARGER CONTAINERS are good to be shipped thru Normal Post and thru SHIP.

Yes, a reputed courier like DHL, UPS and FedEx will charge approx. 2000/- for Half Kg. Weight. But they have discounted rates for volume business. And it can be as low as Rs. 500 for a half Kg. Packet.

If it can come down to Rs 500/- Shouldn't eBay enter into a bulk contract for its customers? I think so.

Their rates for Half Kg shipment for USA are Rs 650/-
If you send bulk parcel above 10+ kg it would cost only Rs
375/- per kg. It would take 3-4 working days to reach the destination. The parcels are forwarded by DHL courier ex new york.So it would work out very economical for you to send bulk parcels.
