sellers not honoring their commitment ( ie not shopping items) SCAM !!!!!!!

I recently own bids on 2 seperate items , first item I won bid on 18th July and second item on 21st July. I emailed the first seller one day BEFORE expiry of shipping period and its only then he replied back saying "there was a listing error, so i cant ship the item, your money will be refunded". I mailed him back asking why he didnt bother to inform me immediately after i won bidding if there was a listing error and his response was "go through proper channels if u want".
The same issue with 2nd seller also, tomorrow ( july 28th) is the last date for shipment and based on the first experience, i CALLED this 2nd seller and he too says " i dont have the item with me now, your money will be refunded"
THE REAL ISSUE IS, IF WE WIN BIDS FOR A GOOD PRICE (for buyers ie), the sellers dont want to give the item so they dont ship it and simply wait for the 1 weeks shipping period to lapse so that ebay will automatically refund the amount.
This is totally UNETHICAL but apparently Ebay has no control or means to discipline these crooks, I already reported the matter TWICE to ebay, through email and all i get it automated replies from Ebay (thank you for writing to us, we will look into the issue). I even spoke with 2 ebay employees today on the phone (one of them a supervisor), as usual they said "we will investigate".

IF BY LUCK SOMEONE higher on the Ebay hierarchy reads this, PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO STOP THESE SCAMS COMMITTED BY SOME OF THE SELLERS, where they dont want to ship item because they feel the winning bid price is not to their liking.
If any of the other buyers have similar experience, please post on the forums.
thank you,
DEEPAK.

I totally agree with Sales.India .. In my experience 80% of the bid winners do not pay.. and to get the refund of the selling fees a seller has to wait for around 15 days.. And I think its a same story with every seller.

I had a seller.. who after winning THOUGHT he has paid for it.. and when i explained to him and sent him the transaction cancellation request(so that I can get my selling fees refunded), he refused my transaction request. The result was that my item remained unsold and my selling fees was also not returned by eBay.

So being a buyer u get ur money automatically refunded but as a seller we have to fight and wait.. so pls stop for a while and try to think from seller's point of view too.

well i sympathize with you guys "new-pinch" and "sales.india" , as you said i am sure there r many black sheep among buyers too who don't ever intend to pay (but your contention that 75-80% dont pay is way too exaggerated).
Anyways let me make it clear that in my original posting i am telling about my personal experience, i am NOT representing other buyers nor speaking on behalf of other buyers, so your comments are misdirected. And i am not an authority from Ebay management to look into your issue, so its better if you also post in a new thread about how buyers are scamming you by not paying.

And for your information@new-pinch, when i bid and win on a certain item , I WANT THE ITEM and not the damn money refunded back!.
If some jerk thinks he isnt getting a good price, ( remember here i am NOT generalizing, i did get good deals from many sellers, i'm just talking about a few black-sheep) these idiots should instead sell under 'BUY IT NOW" or set a reserve price if they dont want to sell below a certain limit, instead they keep it in open bidding and then give lousy excuses why they cant ship the item.
Bottom line: there are good sellers and good buyers and bad sellers and bad buyers and my original posting is about the bad sellers that i encountered here ( 2 times in a single week !)

there was a buyer who after winning bid thought he has won the item hence he should be given this item for free since he won the auction beating others..since he won so he should be given the item free..wow!!
after winning he called me after 5 days stating we are online scammers and why dint we send the article.etc etc
AND I SAID "HELLO!!!!!!!PAY FIRST!!LOL!!!!
can you imagine..we even deal with this

I definitely agree with most of the sellers here, from my personal experience 75%-80% don't pay for the item won by bidding.

We need to set standards we seller foe any reason not able to honor his commitment then SELLER MUST BE BLACKLISTED AND MUST PAY BUYER & EBAY 20% (say) as penalties of the value of item. This will set a standard in online trading refunding money is no big deal ....
