Hi eBay,
I had ordered a simple product such as San Disk pen drive. I paid on the 21st-Sept for the product and after I escalated through the feedback system they decided to ship the product on the 29th Sept and now its Oct-04 and the product has still not reached me, its 3 weeks now. The seller does not respond on time. HE decided to respond only after I left a negative feedback. And even on his response he has been very rude. eBay has a habit of not looking into certain aspects when it comes to customer service and is always Seller biased. Iam not generalizing all sellers cause I have had better experience with eBay product is delivered no less than 2 days. Thats excellent service for sure. But this specific vendor if you look at the negative feedback history he is not very pleasant with the buyers. And this uncomfortable statements from a seller directly impacts eBay as a brand and you need to have some control over the language and statements that sellers send to buyers. This is very specific to "goodvalue_99" nothing personal with this person. But Iam offended. All I want is the product delivered to me or it would be great if I get my money back atleast. I would also suggest you to check his response to me on the feedback that I placed.

I am not commenting on the issue you have with your seller.

I just wanted to clarify a small point and that is about the transit time taken for the good to reach you. You have mentioned that "product shipped on 29th Sept and till Oct-04 the product has not reached you." and "I have had better experience with eBay product is delivered no less than 2 days. Thats excellent service for sure."

Please remove the misconception you have that sellers have any control over the time taken by courier companies, which ever courier cos it may be does not work as per the instructions or whim/fancies of the seller. They have their own routes to be followed and their own time schedule in which they will deliver. The 10 day time period fixed by ebay is with some deliberation and hence you cannot judge a sellers excellence by the time couriers cos take to deliver the product to you.

That yardstick to judge the seller is completely wrong and therefore ebay gives a footnote which says "Sellers are not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the carrier, excluding weekends and holidays, and may vary with package origin and destination, particularly during peak periods."

Nice to know you. Nothing personal here, but I see that you missed a point here, I had ordered the product on the 21st Sept and shipping happened on the 29th Sep.

You mean to say a seller would need 8 days just to ship a product? Why advertise a product when the seller do not have stock of the product and take 8 days just to ship? Iam sure I could have dealt with you Raj Electronics who might not take 8 to 10 days to ship and is much quicker than a quirky and rude seller like Goodvalue99".

Anyone here, please let me know if there is a way to ignore certain sellers products to be listed on my profile when I search for a product on eBay.in. This way I dont see any products displayed by a specific seller that I as a user/buyer choose to ignore as I do not want to do any business further with this specific seller.

few more points:
1. I agree that sellers should keep inventory of the products listed for sale on ebay, but this is India, so we tend to tap all avenues to make money. Most of the sellers do not have the complete inventory with them but depend on someone nearby for sourcing and in event of a sale it can lead to problems as you have rightly described. Sellers of laptop and notebooks will have to depend on regional distributor for a particular model and that can lead to delays. In any case the buyer has to kept in the loop at all times.

2. Ebay have given the sellers a lead time of 7 days to ship the product to the buyer. Sellers on ebay including myself give an estimate to the buyer that in how many days we will ship and it depends on the size of the business, inventory position and the business given to courier cos(private or speedpost). Many small sellers usually club a few items and then send (or go to the post office for speedpost) but usually 90% sellers ship with 2-4 days max. In any case the seller cannot ship after 8 days because on 7th night at 00:00 hrs the ebay system will auto initiate a refund to the buyer.

3. Yes you are absolutely right the seller cannot be and should not be rude at all under any circumstances, there's are no 2 ways about it.

Hi Raj,
I think its about time we stop blaming our country and its system for any delay. As online shopping is not new for me and I think I have better experience from this very portal with sensible and responsible seller. I will not generalize a seller but specific to my case I think its not acceptable.

No the seller was not responsive to my question when I asked when the product will be shipped he was all deaf ears. Asked him a couple of time with no response and he responded with a rude note only after I escalated the issue. Anyway, you have your front forward to defend your fellow mate. But if not for being responsible atleast a good attitude would not have driven me this far with frustration. And also to know that sellers like this person get away with whatever they do and is being supported by a portal like eBay.

can we ask sellers to discuss wonderful buyers?

today i had a case where the buyer has not received the item - seems like some Address issue - he has been so kind he has withdrawn his item not received case against me. It seems to be some address issue. Now I will wait to get the shirt (item back) and i will re-send it to him again..i want to charge him, temptation tells me, but i think i should not.

Thank God I commnicated with him. Buyer is ajay_india_kerela he bought a Peter england shirt from me. Such is a buyer that makes me stay on ebay.

The product we are discussing here is just a Pen Drive, which can easily be purchased in bulk by the Seller and keep it ready for future orders.

On the other hand, Laptops & Notebooks are very costly items and thus cannot be bought in advance by every Seller.
