ebay's own price-checks .

Dear ebay ,

I often check various internet-shopping networks & compare the prices of same items as offered be various portals . It has often come to my notice that prices posted by sellers here are often more ( in some cases - much much more) than what is being offered in open market/on other portals/is the item's real genuine prices .

In a short time in past , ebay emerged as a very effective tool/help to customers looking for lowest/genuine prices - It has been bankable & trustworthy . ebay actually built this reputation thru it's sharp thinking n smart policies . However , ebay today is becoming a place where any seller can post any price (particularly for items which are imported/not commonly available in India) expecting 'fabulous profits' - only one catch here to be good enough to cover for profits that can otherwise be attained only after sale of several pieces in open market!

You see , if an item is generally not available in India & has to be imported , assessing it's landed price is no big deal these days for any educated buyer . An 'imported' status of item should not entitle seller to become Shylock ! I think ebay must hv it's own price-search team which should regularly surf net , find out prices internationally & compare the prices with what is being posted by sellers here on ebay.in . Thus ebay should allow only the lowest/genuine prices to appear on portal protecting it's customers' rights , as well as protecting itself from becoming part of fraud some sellers want to do using ebay's reputation & goodwill .

Remember , reputation is extremely important . ebay must wake up before majority of it's customers start drifting away to other portals & start sourcing their items from there (i can tell u , there exist several several more portals on net these days which supply most of the items & provide good prices/service) .

Thanks .
