I specified a shipping address to eBay and it was different from my registered address as I wanted the item to be delivered as a gift. To my surprise, the seller did not received the registered address and now eBay customer support is telling me to change my registered address. I finally did not receive the item at any address, though I am reachable at both the addresses. At stake are Rs.10295/-. The communication process is damn slow and huge information barrier is created between buyer and seller with eBay claiming no responsibilities for the transactions. I think I would strongly recommend people to stay away from eBay and do direct transactions with sellers if this is how eBay helps customers resolve issues. Did anybody else ever face this problem with eBay before? I just want to know what my expectations from eBay should finally be regarding my transaction.

Hi ashishkhare,
Sorry for the unpleasant experience you had at eBay.
In order to communicate with the seller, you may request the seller's contact details by clicking on the Find Contact information in the advanced search section.
If the seller is unreachable or you think that will not send you your product, you may open a Item Not received dispute against the seller.
If the seller does not respond, or if you feel that you need to get your money back, you will needs to close the dispute and escalate the same for Buyer Protection claim.
I hope this information will be helpful. Do keep us updated on your experience.
Warm Regards,
Sapana

Thanks for your reply.
A dispute resolution was under progress on eBay but the seller has stopped responding and I am shown that he is no more a registered user with eBay. He had given me shipping information but on checking with the Post Office at the destination address, I was told that no such Parcel was received with the parcel reference details given to me by the seller. I now believe the seller did not send any parcel to me and that it was a fraud. The option 'I feel I have no other option but to escalate this to a claim' is NOT ENABLED so I am not able to take the dispute to the next step. The payment was made on 24 November and its 18 December today. Please let me know how to proceed in this case. I am frustrated with eBay and hopefully would never transact on it again.

Hi,
If you have paid by Credit card then you can also get in touch with your bank to check if they can offer you some remedy. Hope they will.
I think you should better close the dispute for this item and escalate a claim under buyer protection. Hope ebay officials will help you again in case of any problem. Otherwise you can seek help on this board again. Apart from ebay officials, there are also many knowledgeable & experienced members who regularly help others in such cases. I think some of them will definitely see your posting soon.
With Non-registered members things get more complicated in ebay. I hope some ebay official will help you again.
Actually its better to avoid such big deals with new members of low rating. I saw that your seller devilz123 has just 2 ratings (and not registered now). The only hope is that devilz123 has a satisfied buyer for a big value item.
Lastly, its true that there are many frauds operating thru ebay, but there are also many genuine and good sellers. If you study the feedbacks before purchase & keep a watch on this board then you will get to know more about this. Hope your next deal will be a smooth and nice one.
. Best Regards
